MultiSite Module Support Thread

Is Gerome Romey still backing the multisite mod?

I have been waiting to try and do a multisite with more than 10 stores doing the same products.

Is there a set of instructions that are up to date?

Has anyone got this working on localhost using XAMPP apache.

I would like to test this before going live

I am going to have a practise and crate a 3 in 1 site, ifI have a site called

www.products.com, do all other sites have to be a sub domain? or not

eg
www.forsale.c om or www.products.c om/shop 1 etc

obvioslyit looks better if all sites are independant looking

(Note: I have not fully tested this method.)
You should be able to get a local install working by editing your hosts file. (ex. c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts)

In the hosts file put something like this at the end:
127.0.0.1 site1.local
127.0.0.1 site2.local

(Or whatever URLs you would like to type in your address bar in place of site1.local/site2.local.)

Also, make sure your multisites config files are named accordingly. (ex. site1.local_config.php)

the domain www.mystorenamehere.com does not exist.

I've spent 7 hours reading this thread but did not find my answer so please answer my simple question.

I have setup and installed ZC with MultiSite on domainA.com which works fine. The config_sites folder contains the info for domainB.com.

What do I do on domainB.com to have my products listed there?

After installing the MultiSite I now get an error at the "Google XML Sitemap Admin" stating that the domain does not exist.
