I don't have this issue in Opera or firefox on my test site: www.cherryzen.jadetrue.com. Could I see a link? Did you paste EXACTLY the above into your stylesheet? Don't change the regular #navColumnTwo at all.
www.melilea.org thanks a lot jet
wow!!! its fixed, anyway, why in opera the main table width is wider than in IE.
seems a lot of trouble in IE.
found another bug

You recommended that to display the top menu with "Home | Log In" properly, I need to upload the original tpl_header.php.
The problem is that when using the CSS dropdown (Paul's edition), it changes this tpl_header.php file.
How can i use the original tpl_header for teh template along with the tpl_header for CSS dropdown without each deleting the other's required code?
Is there a way i can use this template so that the Home page does not have side boxes but when i go to a category page, the side boxes then show up?
What css tag controls the spacing between the left boxes column and the centre area as shown in your template

Please help me, Ithink I must be going mad :blink: I have installed the cherry zen template on my local development machine and changed the logo.gif to one of my own design. This seems to work fine. However when I do exactly the same to my hosted ZenCart all that happens is the Cherryzen logo.gif gets stretched and not replaced. I have renamed the original logo.gif to logo.off but this does not seem to make a difference :frusty: . Any help would be greatly appreciated.

OK....:oops: Strike that question...I have now gone through the readme file :lamo: and as suggested everything I needed to know was in there.

hi, i see you have a 'buy now' button on your template site:
http://www.cherryzen.jadetrue.com/in...=index&cPath=1
i was wondering how i can include this buy now function on my site.
www.mlfencing.com
cheers!! hope to hear from someone soon :)
Thanks very much for the pointer!
Do i tweak the "Display Product Price/Add to Cart"? it is currently set to '3', what value do I set it to to enable 'Buy now'?
Cheers!!
Hi,
Thanks for the great template...when I add "Attributes" to a product, the left column is getting pushed down. Please help. You can see the problem in action at the following link.
Note: I have installed the mod "Tabbed Pro" (latest beta version 1.5) on this template, do not know whether it has anything to do with this...
http://www.herbalbazar.com/index.php...&products_id=6
Thanks,
PM.
I observed that it works fine on IE7, but not on IE6. So I do think that it has to do with the Tabbd-pro only, so I am moving this post to "Tabbed Pro" thead...
Thanks for your help and the template.

Hi jettrue i must say thanks for the fantastic template!!!!!
Im having trouble using the cherry zen template together with your CSS flyout header 1.5
All i seem to get is the header displayed and first 3 boxes (missing some of the contents) everything after the drop down menu doesn’t display.
Im working on the site all day today, if you could drop me a line i can show you what i mean.
Thanks Mrfixit

Okdoky!!
Sorted the contents problem, i missed out renaming 2 folders to "cherry_zen" in the css includes folder, doh!!
Still stuck with the 3 boxes and nothing showing below the drop_menu line in the header.php (this was put un above the ezpages line)
Any ideas?
All sorted!! Simple as a spelling mistake on one of the folders. You'd never guess i was new to this lol.
Cheers!!

Hi to all you Cherry zenners.
Please forgive me my useless computer skills, but I am very new and confused.
I have downloaded zen, and am working through my manual. I have started the override system but seem to be making a mess of things. So I have looked at the downloadable templates and - WOW - here I am.
-Where do I download the cherry file to, the override file?
-Can I alter the colours even further than what is on offer without making a mess of things?
:blush:
With thanks in advance.

(I don't know if this lets you see or not!?!)
Don't forget to read the readme file, as it has a lot of helpful info.
You're going to need to upload the includes folder inside the cherry zen download file, into the main includes folder of your store.
You should download a free FTP program if you haven't already. Then you can upload the includes/ folder, and it will put all the files in the correct places.
Thanks I will give it a shot!
Maybe I am missing a preference in the Admin, but I would like to remove the Featured Products listing from the body of my main page. How would I do this?
Thanks.
Hi, brilliant template. It looks great. But I have one question:
I have been looking through the thread and I found your instructions for making the product description appear to the right of the image, but mine isn't quite right.
I moved the productdescription block so it looks like this: http://www.theyateleyforums.com/zen/...roducts_id=190
but I would like it to use the full width of the page and to wrap around the image. How do I achieve this?
Sorry that it is the same old question that you have seen lots of times before, but I'm almost there.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks
Well, that will take some adjustment. My suggestion is that you simply float ONLY the left image. Then the text will wrap around that. Then I would suggest having the Tell a Friend and contact below that.
This isn't a simple change this or that in the css. It will take some adjustment.
OK thank you for the quick reply. I'll keep trying and perhaps ask someone at work for some CSS help as it isn't really a Cherry Zen problem.
If I make money off my site I'll donate!
Hi All,
Can the left and right columns be expanded up into the header on the cherry zen template?
http://www.allk-9.com/test/images/te...zencolumns.gif
Thanks!
I've tried to find an answer on a question that's been bothering me but was unable locate any.
Why did you use images for left and right column background and put them in contentMainWrapper instead of using CSS in #navColumnOne or #navColumnOneWrapper for example?
I'd appreciate your comments on why did you choose to do it the way it is...
Thanks
Hi Jade,
I Decided against the ccs dropdown for now, though i do have a question about this template of yours.
Up along the top, just below the logo, there is a nav bar which came up when i created some categories. (where the ezPages used to be). I would like this bar to be in the same colour as all of the caregory and box headings, but i cant seem to find it anywhere in the style sheets or any other file.
The site is www.tbsm.com.au .
Thank you..
Liam.
Hi
I've just installed Cherry Zen template all went OK, apart from the problem with the left hand side boxes as you can here, http://www.indigosilvergems.com the Categories are half way down the page.
Anyone know a fix for this, all help welcome.
Thanks.
Thanks jade,
I managed to make it the same image used for the top header though its sort of out of place as you can see www.tbsm.com.au
Liam.
Some of the content boxes don't want to show up on the right side or the left, depending on what they are...for instance, I can't put the review box on the left, nor can I put contents on the right. The shopping cart doesn't show up on either side, but only at the top of the page where the template already has a link for it. Can someone explain to me why this is and/or how to fix it?
I have a problem with the content boxes-- they seem to have already decided what side (if any) they want to show up on, regardless of how I set them.
For example, the categories box will only show up on the left side, while the reviews box will only show up on the right. Meanwhile, the shopping cart box will not show up on either side.
Has anyone run into this problem? Is there a way to fix this?
jettrue,
what file do i edit to try and move the bar that is above the logo (that has the search) to below the logo and have two menu bars below the logo...
thanks.
Thank you sooo much jade..
one last quick thing,, it is all working now except for the text is not verticaly centered like the other headings.. I played around with the padding but to no avail.
Once again thank you..
Liam
How do I width the background of the left or right columns of the grey area?
Wade
you can change the width of the left and right columns via configuration > layout settings in the admin.
here is what I have right now my website is http://www.mtechama.com
Hello,
I am using the Cherry Zen template. Zencart 1.3.7.
I would like to add a new menu option to the left of the Home button on the menu. I was able to add the option however it moves the other buttons to the right and the last button is displayed on a second line. I would like to have it display all on one row. I have tried changing the CSS in different places but cannot seem to get the width correct to keep on one line.
Could someone please point me in the right direction? I believe there is enough space between the "search" and existing "home" button to add another menu option.
Thanks in advance!

I am sure this may have been covered, but I couldn't find it.
I needto remove all the links that are in the white lower section of my header box. I have the links I want in the gray strip of the header bar, so it's just the box I'm trying to deal with here.
Also, I would like to drop my logo down closer to the gray header bar once I get the links in the box removed.
my site is in the very beginning stages but you can see what I'm talking about at: http://www.mydzineworks.com/catalog - thank you very much.

First of all: Great Template.
I did have one customer running at 1154x 864 and that did mess up the layouts (pushed the categories sidebox below the footer and mangled the header). I have used a fixed 1000 pix width to cater for that.
It's a horrible res anyway and I think its just a Dell straight out the box.
I have a question about the checkout modules.
My customer wants the order breakdown on step 3 of the checkout process to be present in the step 2 of the checkout process so that online buyers can see what they are paying for before they have enter their card details.
I didn't think it mattered but he's quite firm on this point.
I did try editing the php modules but I don't really have enough experience of the flow to pick out the variables.
I have included images to help illustrate the point.

Hi,
New ZenCart user here.
I installed the Cherry Zen template and am following instructions in the Read Me Or Else file.
The instructions say "Go to "Configuration" "Product Listing" and change "Product Listing - Layout Style" to "columns". "
However, I do not see the choice "Product Listing - Layout Style" as a choice under Configuration.
Upon more poking around, I found that I need to first install the add-on module for Column Layout / Grid Layout for Products Listing.
So I guess this post is two-part.
1. Maybe the installation instructions for Cherry Zen should say to first install this module.
2. If I'm installing this module after the Cherry Zen installation, should I install everything except product_listing.php, which exists in both Cherry Zen and the Column Layout module?
Thanks.
Hi,
Has anyone successfully implemented the tabbed products info contribution?
Thanks,
Kelly
susb83
1) arguably yes, the coder Jen(true) possibly made the assumption that you had read the installation files thoroughly! :smile:
A little experience sometimes makes you forget how thorough you instructions have to be.
2) Just install Cherry Zen, and then add the MySQL patch for column grid, the instructions are included in the readme. Jettrue has been good enough to include the php from the start and the sql file is included in the mod.
I would always recommend a XAMPP installation (or MAC equiv) a My SQL backup and a second read of the instructions:lamo:.
How do I know? I made mistakes too.

Dave
Hello,
I managed to add the tabbed product info. Unfortunately it seems to have problems working with IH 2. But anyway I will post that on the tabbed forum.
My question is about the product info layout. I arranged the placement of the tabs below the image and product details. I would like to move my my cart buttons directly below my details and attributes. But...I'm stuck. Any help would be appreciated. I am posting a link but the site does have adult products. The link I am posting is only for lingerie.
Product Link
Thanks in advance!

New to cherry zen. Just switched from niffty and noticed some changes.
I placed spaces in between my paragraphs but they are not showing up in cherry template. I used <p>. It's still there in my text. Any reason why it is being ignored? Also, not all <p> commands are being ignored. Scroll to the bottom and you will notice how the text are bunched together.

Hi, sorry to bug you again!
I really like the top right menu links which are set up for Home, Shopping Cart and Checkout, but how do I change these links or add new ones?
Thank you
I am having some browser problems with my site, which can be viewed here at www.miss-crow.com/shop.
In Flock, Safari and Firefox, the site displays properly and there are no issues. Opera is also more or less fine.
In Netscape, all is ok, except that where the background should be white behind the page content, it is not and displays only the actual page color background, which is black.
In Internet Explorer, the background is fine, but the right column goes beyond the width of the header and right column and kind of hangs out over in the black area.
Can someone help me out?
Thanks.
I have download cherry_zen template, when its viewed in IE7 it looks ok.
when I view it in foxfire, I get the blue background. www.weezeesgifts.com
I'm not good with PHP so I haven't changed any coding. except the width. Before I downloaded I moved to a new host and server, then upgrade from 1.3.0 to 1.3.8a. lot of my boxes are not working I turned them on and they don't showup. Tried to add contact us in the header it didn't work either. It showed up in black text.
hi all,
where/how do you change the text and what it links to for the rollover tabs in the nav header?
thanks.
Ah, yes!!
You know, I saw that when I initially read through the readme, but then when I followed the installation instructions step-by-step, I totally missed that one!
You're absolutely right--operator error!
Thanks, Susie
Awesome template, by the way.
How do I remove the wording Template designed by Sage Fish.com. in the footer, search but no info found on it.
Regards
Thanks for your Help.

I have just done a fresh install of Zencart 1.3.8a and the cherry_zen template. I also want to add the image handler contribution.
In reading the documentation for the image handler it says to check for duplicate files first before uploading the files. I HAVE found duplicate files (gifs, etc.) on my server so I haven't as yet uploaded the image handler files.
I know the demo of cherry_zen has the image handler working in it. How was this done without over-writing existing files?
Thanks to one and all for Zencart and all the great contributions (including cherry_zen!)

Has any one else had this problem. Or can someone help met to correct it.
Always test in firefox because IE seems to ignore page errors. My guess is that you have accidently deleted a </div> somewhere and so your page is not formatted correctly. Perhaps use firebug in firefox to see if all your <div> are closed?
Does anyone know how I can put a solid banner picture in cherry zen, instead of having a little logo in the top left? I want a solid image as a header.
The documentation that comes with Cherry_zen tells you how. Read that.

Great Job!
How do i get the grey bar to appear below the categories on the header?
Hi,
Is there a way I can apply an image to the "background", the area behind the main site box (where the shadow is)...If that makes sense.
Thanks
Pete
Hello,
Yes you can!! Very easy.
Go to includes/templates/cherry_zen/css/stylesheet.css
########################################################################################################################_
Now find this code:
/* other background color or image changes */
body {
background:#84A4C1; /* main site background color, blue default */
}
########################################################################################################################__
Next remove the color and insert a picture link:
/* other background color or image changes */
body {
background:url("../images/logo.gif"); /* main site background color, blue default */
}
########################################################################################################################_
Remember to load the picture to your server first.
I hope this helps you.
Make sure you upload the image to includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/images/ folder.
LJL is right but if you need a repeat you can do this to.
Quote:
background:url("../images/whatever.jpg");
or
background:url("../images/whatever.jpg") repeat;
if it needs to repeat itself.
Are there specific dimensions that work best, I have tried a couple of images but nothing shows?
Thanks
Pete
yes they are. Make sure you clean your catch in FF and FF before you view.

Hi All,
I have replaced the old Cherry Zen logo in the header of my site http://www.indigosilvergems.com, the header looks OK in Firefox and IE7, but its looks rubbish in IE6. The right hand side of the site is all messed up.
I have tried all sorts of configurations in the stylesheet.
Anyone know of a Fix I can try??
Thanks:(
Since you're going with a fixed width site, make these changes, and see if that helps.
Change this:
to this:Code:#nw {
width:900px; /* main site width; if you'd prefer a fixed width site, enter the width in px here. */
max-width:900px; /* prevents the main content from getting wider than 1300px in sites other than IE */
min-width:800px; /* this prevents the main content from getting smaller than 1000px in browsers OTHER THAN IE. You can make this as small as 800px, BUT any smaller than that, and the top header menu will break into two lines. Also, if you make this width 800px, you will need to make sure your product image on the product info page is no wider than 190px */
}
/* IE only. Controls Width of Site and Main Content*/
* html #nw {
width:expression((d=document.compatMode=="CSS1Compat" ? document.documentElement : document.body) && (d.clientWidth > 1300? "1300px" : d.clientWidth > 1048? "80%" : d.clientWidth < 1048? "1000px" : "80%")); /* this prevents the site from getting smaller than 1000px or wider than 1300px in IE */
}
/* end IE only */
/* end site and main content width section */
Code:#nw {
width:880px; /* main site width; if you'd prefer a fixed width site, enter the width in px here. */
}
/* end site and main content width section */
I have tried the changes as above, did not improve. I made these changes below and IE6 has improve still not right.
Still have a problem down the right side the headings of search, information, languages, ect are out of alignment.Code:* html #nw {
width:expression((d=document.compatMode=="CSS1Compat" ? document.documentElement : document.body) && (d.clientWidth > 1300? "900px" : d.clientWidth > 1048? "900px" : d.clientWidth < 1048? "900px" : "900px")); /* this prevents the site from getting smaller than 1000px or wider than 1300px in IE */
}
Any other suggestions please how I can sort this display problem out in IE6.
Thanks
add this to your stylesheet:
and remove this (the below is only if you're using a flexible width site, you've switched to a fixed width):Code:* html #navColumnTwo {
margin-right: -170px !important;
}
Code:* html #nw {
width:expression((d=document.compatMode=="CSS1Compat" ? document.documentElement : document.body) && (d.clientWidth > 1300? "900px" : d.clientWidth > 1048? "900px" : d.clientWidth < 1048? "900px" : "900px")); /* this prevents the site from getting smaller than 1000px or wider than 1300px in IE */
}
Regarding the background images...I have managed to get various images to show now...However, If you take a look at www.virginmedia.com, the white gaps down either side of the page is where I want the image to appear.
Not one image repeated, like a xmas tree. My intention is to have a single image that fills the whole white space, to theme the site for special days/releases etc.
Thanks for your help so far and I hope what I have written above makes sense.
Thanks
Pete
When you use the code above the whole back ground behind your site will have the image. You will only be able to see it around your site. The white gaps you are talking about will be filled with that image. I do not know how to just fill the sides of your site with the image like you are talking about. Maybe jettrue can direct you.Quote:

Hi, I'm a Newbie to coding but learning fast!
Have the basic problem of loading Cherry Zen.
I copied the "includes" folder of the template to the "includes" folder on my site. All it did was create an additional includes folder within the includes folder.
Do I take each element and upload it separately?
I'm a bit hestitant to try things as there's no undo after uploading. :)
If you haven't all ready you need to set up your custom folder over-ride. Next you need to upload the includes from the cherry zen template folder to your root on your server. Cherry zen template will not over ride anything. Your root will be where all the files are for zen cart on.
Thank you, Country Charm.
I'm reading the manual at that part now and I'm totally confused.
Do I just make a custom folder? Do I make a custom directory for each element?
Just installed all the Cherry Zen files but when i try and change to the new template it still shows the old one. Even though Cherry zen showing as default
Please help
I have increased the width of sidebox.gif to 170px to match the uncreased width of my left column but I wish to keep the right colum at 150px. My problem is that the grey background on the right is 20px larger than the the sidebox column.
What do I have to do to reduce the grey background by 20px on the right without affect the left column.
Sorry, you're talkin' to a dummy -- LOL. I can tweak blogger and wordpress, but Zencart is totally foreign to me right now.
I attempted to upload the "includes" file into the "includes" file on my site per an earlier post here, but it just created another "includes" file inside the original on Zencart.
Do I need to upload each individual file of Cherry Zen to the corresponding folder on Zencart?
