Plain text newsletters

So all my emails (newletters) look how I want them to in the preview but when sent to my test accounts (I have 3 and two of them are html and one is text preferred option)
All of them come through as plain text. No links or logo.
I even changed Email Admin Format to HTML and no changes happened.
I cleared the browser cache lots of times and opened and close my email program, no changes.

I would like to be able to send a plain text email with logo and a link to the website.
I've replaced the email/header.jpg with the logo of the same file name header.jpg also.
If anyone would help I'd appreciate it, I've read heaps of threads but none have actually been able to resolve this for me.

I also want to add that all other emails that the system does are doing it in html.

Check in your admin > customers > edit - for email preference and make sure that the ones you can receive html are set to html

You can not add an image to a plain text mail, because it is plain text.
Did you check if the program you use for viewing the mails is set to receive html mails?

Hi Kobra, Sorry for the delayed response.
I have checked in admin>customers>edit and they are set to subscribed and html. I resent the newsletter and it just through as plain text still.

Sorry for the late response.
Well that makes sense. Ok so no clickable links in plain text emails.
I am still getting the html emails as plain text still even though the test customers are "subscribed"and html is checked.

Is your test customer the same as an admin email?
Then you need to set
admin->Configuration->E-Mail Options->Email Admin Format? to HTML
(you said you have done this)

as well you need to have...
admin->Configuration->E-Mail Options->Enable HTML Emails? to true

Check in your
admin > config > email options > Use MIME HTML When Sending Emails > set to true

Yes, enable html emails is set to true.
