nochex orders not showing in admin
Hi,
I run a Zen Cart shop which all runs fine, our customers make an order and then I get sent a a order email which gives me there details and what they have ordered, which is great, but that only works when the pay by cash on delivery, whenever someone pays using Nochex for credit card payments, i get a email from Nochex saying they have payed but I do not get one from the shop saying they have placed and order, how do i fix this?

it seems not just me got this problem! everything looks fine in customer site, just in zen-cart admin control panel do not have orders...

I also have this problem.
1) Add a test item to cart
2) Logout
3 Items appear in database cart and show in Recover Cart Sales
3) Login, items still in cart
4) Pay via NoChex
5) Get confirmation of nochex payment
6) No record of order, no emails, nothing showing in Recover Cart Sales or database.
Switched back to using PayPal - everything works fine.
Seems to be a problem at NoChex who can't even get their help system to operate properly - selecting help from interface gives an SQL error.
Maybe they will fix it Monday., I will call them.

My website has also started doing this as of Friday (last order received properly on 27/03/2010 09:09am). It has worked fine for 2 years before now and I haven't changed anything recently.
Since there seems to be a few of us all having the same problem as of about the same time it looks like it may be an issue at the NoChex end. I emailed them earlier but now that I've found this thread and I'm more sure it is their fault I will call them in the morning also.

OK guys here's the update.
My account manager Charlotte Padmore has filled me in that NoChex have changed something at their end and they are aware that it seems to have broken things for Zen Cart. They believe this is due to a timeout - they think the Zen Cart module is not allowing enough time for NoChex to authorise (presumably the change they've made to their system makes it slower).
Charlotte was speaking in terms of "contacting Zen Cart to modify their system", etc. I pointed out that its not as simple as that:
1) Zen Cart is not one system on one server that can be fixed, its thousands of copies on thousands of servers
2) Zen Cart is an open source project - not a commercial entity that they could phone up and ask to issue a patch.
Anyhow the upshot is that they've asked me to send the NoChex APC page to them to look at. I think this is a positive sign.
I also asked (demanded really) to speak to Nick Fox (sales director), or any other director or senior person. She reluctantly agreed to ask Nick Fox to call me back. Whether he will actually phone remains to be seen.
I will send them the code and keep you posted.

Dear Zen Cart users,
It has come to our attention this morning that those people using Zen Cart as their shopping cart and Nochex for their payments are having technical difficulties.
We are aware of the problem and our technical team is working very hard to resolve the problem as we speak.
Nochex Merchant account holders can of course call their Account Manager for updates on the situation however we will also notify you via this forum page once a resolution has been found.
As soon as we have an update on the situation we will let you know.

P.S. We would also kindly ask that in future you do not publish Account Managers telephone numbers on the web as these telephone numbers are reserved for Merchant Account holders only and if published, will result in non Merchant account holders calling in where they would usually be asked to submit a support ticket via our website. Publishing numbers in this way will only mean that the Merchant Account Managers have to deal with calls from people who are not eligible for telephone support and this could potentially slow them down when dealing with genuine Merchant enquiries like yours.

I've emailed and called twice leaving messages.
Just get voicemail. No callback.
Does anyone believe thet Charlotte Padmore is a real person?
I was told I would get an account manager, it seems "Charlotte Padmore" is either everyone's account manager and works very long hours or a generic name for a call centre.
Her email address [email protected] doesn't suggest a person, and when I call her number I'm told I will be put through to the "first available account manager", which happens to be Charlotte Padmore's voicemail.
NOT GOOD ENOUGH Nochex.

I'm working with Charlotte Padmore (she does exist!), Nick Fox (Sales Director), and Andy in the tech team. He has issued me with a code change in the NoChexAPC handler - which unfortunately didn't make any difference.
He has now asked me to turn on debug mode and put a transaction through. I have just done that and sent him the resulting debug emails.
They are working on it. He's phoning right now in fact...
I will keep you posted, and NoChex are keen to issue a fix through this page also.

For some reason instead of getting back "AUTHORISED" we are getting back "AUTHORISE" and then the "D" a couple of lines further down.
I am going to change my nochex_apc_handler.php to look for "AUTHORISE" for now to test. Andy is going to look at what they have changed on their server which might cause it to appear on different lines as it does in the NoChex response.
Non ZenCart customers are not having the problem so the mystery is why is whatever the change is only making ZenCart put it on two lines.
Progress though I think...

Perhaps we can give NoChex a more exact time so that they can identify which change caused the problem.
My last normal order was on Friday 26/03/2010 at 09:09am. I didn't get many orders on Friday though so its hard to estimate exactly when it became broken.
When was your last "normal order" through NoChex?

its same day again, i got 6 orders cant not show in my admin panel, its very hard to tell customer what happen i think, did you tell your customer whats going on?

I have told some customers about the problem and asked them what they ordered.
Today I was lucky with several of my orders because the customer phoned me before they ordered and then I was able to work out what they ordered from the prices and what they mentioned on the phone!
It makes producing my invoices and packing lists a little more time consuming though! I can't do this for much longer!
When was your last recorded NoChex order in your admin panel?

We have a working solution. I have attached the newly fixed nochex_apc_handler.php which solves the problem. Andrew at NoChex deserves praise for sorting this out and supplying the code fix for us.
Also - even better than that - he is able to reset all of your missing orders and make them appear in your Admin area. I guess you'll each need to phone your account managers and request that they do that for you. You'll need to tell them your last good order when you do to avoid duplication.

Unfortunately this still isn’t working for me!! I’ve repeated the same process three times but still no orders showing in the admin panel,
Silly question but does it make a difference to which version of Zen cart you are using?
Just so I can be sure I’m doing the right thing can somebody tell me if this is right!!
I FTP the new nochex_apc_handler.php file over the top of the old file which is located in the public_html/ then I went to my admin panel and reinstalled the Nochex mod, all the settings have been put back the same as before we had the problem

im using 1.38a,i think you must ask nochex send the missing orders back to you as they said, it wont back in your admin panel after replace file! and did you try place a order ?

Can anyone confirm if this is affecting all Nochex users, or just some?
We've had no problems with Nochex over the last 10 days, but have very few transactions processed with them - 10 at the most.
Also, FYI the nochex_apc_hanlder.php file is in the top level directory, which may not be public_html/ for everyone - it will depend on your host. EG it is in the same directory that you'll find your /admin, /includes, /images etc.

Not to sure if the problem affected everyone but it started on Saturday!! We disabled ours late Sunday due to the amount of customers complaining; it’s been very embarrassing to say the least,
From reading this post the new file has helped some people but not us!!
We do have the nochex_apc_hanlder.php file is in the top level directory so I don’t understand what wrong, All I can think is Nochex must still have problems,
Has anyboady else updated the file and not had any luck or is it just us

I have never had a problem with Nochex in 3 years, now after the email from Nick Fox i put the new file in to be safe and guess what, yes, now i have the problem of no orders showing. I have put back the old handler file and emailed nochex.
Just to pass my experience with them, they never answer the phone, it always goes to answer, i think this is because Charlotte is the account manager for anyone and everyone. Whatever they did to their system they should have made sure they didnt screw us all up, or left it alone. dont fix if it works.

Snarfy: Can you turn on Debug mode on the the NoChex module and then post what you get on the 3rd debug email of each order.

That's the wrong email. You will receive 3 debug emails. The one you copied and pasted is #1, the one we're interested in is #3.

snarfy, i have same number one as you, but i have 4 emails in total and all came same time. I get same number 3 as simondale123.
this is after reverting back to my old file and now it seems to work ok, in test mode anyway.

The nochex apc handler file in the zip file posted is for ZC 1.3.8 / 1.3.8a only, it won't work with v1.3.7 or earlier.

Try this.. with your original nochex_apc_handler.php file edit it and find the line that says...

I had suspected that 'if it aint broke, don't fix it'. Pretty poor of Nochex to advise about making a change that would stop something working without first checking whether this is happening to everyone.
Does anyone know why this would only affect some users?

Don’t have a clue but ours stopped working on Saturday the new file worked for us with the tiny alteration of removing the S in https

Last Nochex transaction was 15:32 yesterday and it worked OK. Had a few since Saturday with no problems.

We believe the problem that Zen Cart users have been experiencing has now been resolved. An email went out to all account holders yesterday (to the email address registered on their Nochex account) detailing the solution.
If for any reason you have not recieved the email or are still experiencing difficulties, please either call your Merchant Account Manager or you can email us at [email protected].

Hi Fergus,
A couple of our clients thought they were not being affected; we then install RECOVER CART module on their site and they noticed how many sales they had missed over the last 72hrs! -- Even if you think there has been no problem (maybe a couple of sales went through during Nochex problem period) it's a great module to install.
We then installed the Nochex update for them and all is back working.

I have the same problem and have had no orders showing up since the 29th. This is causing me massive problems as my site took over 50 orders that I cannot see in my admin. I have turned off Nochex for now. I have tried the fix file but no joy as I am running 1.37.1 it won't work. Does anyone have an idea how to fix this in 1.37.1 without me having to upgrade? It's getting a bit crucial that I fix this now as the orders need despatching and I still can't find out what they are. I don't want to have to ask all the customers what they ordered as it is very embarrassing :blush:

Anyone noticed if there Nochex has stopped working again? Following the previous change, clients kicked back into action, but today they have raised the problem again...hummmmmm "MUST SWITCH TO SAGEPAY" ;)

I havent had anymore orders through from nochex payment yet, so not sure ,will post here when i do (if i remember) :)

I had a nochex payment today at 12:37 GMT and that one worked fine. Apart from that, I cannot say!

Nick from Nochex sent me 2 revised handler files today, one for 1.37 and one for 1.38.
I am running 1.37, tried them out and both work for me, all back to normal.:clap:
If you need them I can send them as I don't know how to put them up on here.

My customers can choose between Nochex and PayPal. Most seem to choose PayPal at the moment.
Had one order through NoChex, which seems to have worked, however the Order Status us set to Pending, not Processing as specified in the module.

I have downloaded the new Nochex APC Handler file but where do I place it?
I have a file in my includes/modules/payment folder called Nochex_apc.php is it this file I am replacing? and do I call the new file the same name?

Has the Nochex problem recurred?
I had notification of payment from Nochex today (Saturday 13:51 hours) but there is no order in the Zen-Cart control panel. There is normally a copy of orders placed sent to admin this has not happened either. I set the Nochex module to test mode and there is no record of the test order in the Zen-Cart admin control panel. Last successful transaction via Nochex was 11:54am Friday.
Have switched off Nochex meantime.

I have had the problem again tonight - 20:14 17/04/2010. Just like before we received a payment confirmation from NoChex but no order in Zen Cart. I will email Nick Fox at NoChex now.

We had three missing orders on Saturday all at around 2pm so I instantly disabled the payments system as I didn’t want a repeat of last time!! I had so many angry customers it was a joke:(
I knew it wouldn’t get sorted on Saturday so I just disabled it forgot about it until this morning

Hi All,
My one missing order has now appeared in Zen Cart and I have had an email from Nick Fox saying that the problem is rectified. Apparently it wasn't specific to Zen Cart this time.
I guess they have kicked through all the missing orders but if they haven't perhaps you can contact your account manager and ask them to do it for you.

You can add them as attachments (you may need to zip them up first) - scroll down below the message text box when replying, and in the Additional Options you can attach them there - I'd certainly be interested in seeing the revised 138 version.

My client is using v1.3.7 and it looks like the updated file for this version, available in resources (updated on 06 Apr 2010 2:40 PM) works.
Please note, that I made 3 minor revertions to variable name changes suggested as my original file had the word NOCHEX rather than PAYPAL in these variable names.
So, I did the following...

Nochex seem to have lots of people changing files and i dont think it is down to this. they have messed something big time. After 3 years of no problem with them,, today my orders have gone missing it then started working again after reporting. I dont know what will happen next, but they need to sort it and stop blaming other things.

Can you confirm how you 'reported' this issue.
Just noticed that Nochex has stopped generating orders for me on the 30th May!
Aaarghh...seeking to find a reliable replacement as soon as possible.

In case this is of use to anyone, Nochex advised me to upload a new version of the /nochex_apc_handler.php file which I downloaded from here: http://esupport.nochex.com/index.php...nloads&_a=view
I'm not sure if this is the same fix posted previously, my problem started on the 30/05/2010 and appears to have been resolved by this fix.

Hi best to contact Nick fox direct. have PM d address to you. new file didnt work for me, still on old one and working ok again now. for now. i dont know what they mess up. good luck.

Thanks Carl - mine appears to be working since applying that fix.
I did a test transaction yesterday and then had a real transaction and both seem OK.
It literally amazes me that so many problems can happen with Nochex.
SagePay looks like a good alternative.

glad you got sorted. mine is up and running again and havent changed any files, if i did it wouldnt work. It is nochex messing up somehow, it all started in march.
If you do look at sagepay let me know how you get on.

PS. I can confirm there are no issues with SagePay and Zen Cart. I've been using them on 2 websites since 2005 when they were Protx. They went through a bad patch when they had processing issues but their infrastructure has been upgraded and all seems fine now.
I only use Nochex on one site that is not for a VAT registered company and has no Merchants Account. Based on current support this last link with them may be short lived!

I just wanted to post an update as Nochex have now contacted me and all issues have been resolved. I was initially concerned that their support was going the way of PayPal's but this is not the case.
I am once again a happy Nochex customer!

Glad to hear it.
Although not specifically related to this thread, a word of caution for anyone leaving Nochex. When you cancel your account, they retain a balance for 6 months in case you get any chargebacks during that time. After 6 months they will not contact you, you will need to contact them and they will only pay the balance into the original bank account linked with your account, or charge you £30 to send you a cheque. I managed to get them to add a new bank account in the same name as the old one and had the full balance released.

Hello all,
Nochex have now created a guide on how to install the Nochex Payments Module specifically for Zen Cart versions 1.3.7 to 1.3.9. It also includes all files needed for the installation.
If anyone is still experiencing problems there is a Troubleshooting section within the guide that can help answer any queries you may have.
Also at the payment page there is now a description field which shows the products your customer is buying. This was an addition to the nochex_apc.php file. So if you only want the description update download the whole package, go into the relevant version folder and find the file 'nochex_apc.php' and then copy it to your installation using FTP. (Always make a backup of all files before updating)
