This module is to falicitate the users to upload additional images easily without the hassle of chnaging the names and uploading seperately. this module works seperately without chnaging any core files, adds a option to upload addtional images for a product and show those images on the site.

I have had problems with additional images, tried this add on, apart from a minor glitch, rectified by the author, THIS WORKS GREAT, and is EASY to add, Compared to the others tried (that crashed htmlarea) this is a dream.
Only thing to improve would be image size, currently thumbnail, I am sure there is an easy way to make larger images.
Programmer is fast to respond, he has a winner here, recommend it to all.

I should clarify this "additional images" means other programs to add more images, not to be confused with the title of this add on.

Right it is all working now. Had to more the file in extra_datafiles/your-template to just extra_datafiles.
I really need the additional images to replace the main image when clicked. Does anyone know how to achieve this?

I've noticed a few questions on "click to enlarge" on additional images. Has anyone figured out how to do that? Also has anyone gotten this to work with Zen Lightbox? I assume I have to get the enlarge feature to work before getting Lightbox to work. I REALLY need this to work!

I changed the settings on Configuration/images-additional images height and width but the images remain the same size. When I also set Image - Use Proportional Images on Products and Categories to off, the additional images resize but the main image doesn't show.
I have uploaded all the files and installed the feature but cannot find the file tpl_product_info_default.php. It is not there? As a result I can upload pictures but they are not shown on my site. Do I have to create this file?

haha odn't know about that...I have some answers but not all of them!
I gave up on this mod in the end as I too needed the images to enlarge so I went for the AJAX IMAGE SWAPPER it does the same thing except it has a scrollable thumbnail container and you upload in the admin section, it uses Fual Slimbox instead of lightbox but it looks the same.

I have installed the "additional product images" and it is fabulous. Kudos! Question. I would like to add some additional images to products in the top category. I know there are images in the category yet in the administration under catalog/ additional images/ no products appear under the top category. There is an error message that says the category is disabled. What am I doing wrong? TIA TOm :cool:

Hi everyone I have uploaded the Addon but I am a bit stuck. I saw someone say that the the file should be tpl_product_info_display.php I have put the code in but when I save it it get all jumbled up. Should I change the file permission? Also where would be the best place to put that code?
Could I put it near the main image coding? Does it matter where I put the code cause it seems like I am messing up the coding that is there. Please can someone help. I really would like to have this addon I sell magazines and this would come in handy for mor pics.

I expect that if you have turned additional images off, the mod would also be turned off. Why have you disabled additional images if you need them? Are you getting unwanted images showing up? In that case, you just need to follow the additional image naming process correctly (see the tutorials).

I have installed this mod and it works correctly however, in the title of the admin page 'catalog>Additional Product Images' I see the following headers
TABLE_HEADING_ID TEXT_PRODUCTS_IMAGE TABLE_HEADING_ACTION
Also in the list of products under the category the header is displayed as TEXT_ADDITIONAL_IMAGES

You are missing several define statements, and probably one or more language files where the defines happen. Check that all of the mod's files were uploaded correctly.

Hi, I also have uploaded this add on, added the patch, put the files in the root and changed the tpl_product_display under additional images section. But I can't see the option to add additional images. Please advise. Site is www.ew-trading.com. This is the first time I have tried to use add ons for zencart, I have added to my public_html file and also to my public_html_shop file in case that made a difference. In my admin panel when i go to Catalogue-Additinal images it says disabled. Might this be the problem. In the images section I have set to show 3 additional images. Many thanks in advance!
What do you have for Catalog > Product Types > Product-General > edit layout > Show Product Additional Images? If that is off, turn it on and see what happens.
If the mod makes a link under Catalog named Additional Images, then you need someone who has used it to help you.

I have been searching many threads for this random problem I found.
Zencart 1.3.9f
I installed additional product images, and it works great. I also installed Tabbed Products Pro and it also works great. See example here. It pulled in the additional images already associated with that product.
But it stopped working for some reason. I added some new products and uploaded their additional images. I checked their pages and the additional images don't show up. I checked in admin again, and the images show as being uploaded and the status is enabled. I checked all the config settings and they are correct in enabling additional images. However, they don't show up on the website. See page here. This problem only occurs for new products. The old products' images continue to display.
Another issue came up at the same time (maybe it will help determine the location of the problem). I noticed that the attribute image no longer replaces the main product image when selected. This happens with every product (new or old). I have never encountered this problem before, and I checked the attribute settings and they are correct.
Has anyone seen anything like this before? Can anyone suggest which files I should check for bugs?

If you haven't changed any files or admin settings recently, you might want to check if your host has upgraded anything on your server. Once in a while a PHP/MySQL function that works for an older version changes in a newer version.
These are my current versions:
PHP version 5.2.17
MySQL version 5.1.52
The cpanel doesn't show any messages about upgraded PHP or SQL. Do you know how I can tell? And do you have any other suggestions I can check out while I continue to follow up on this first suggestion?

PHP v5.3.x would be cause for closer investigation, but your versions are unlikely to have anything to do with your problem.
Hello everyone, does anyone know what strings to pull to make additional images line up vertically, not horizontally?
The images are usually floated left so they will fit in a row, so removing the float should do it. Seeing your site will let us tell you the exact style rule to use.

It looks slightly different in different browsers. But the problem remains the same.
The additional images are being controlled by the Column Divider Pro addon, which puts them into a layout table. There is no floating involved. Try setting the number of additional images per row to 1 in Configuration > Images > Product Info - Number of Additional Images per Row.
I have additional_product_images_v2_0b installed on ZC v1.5, also have Image_Handler4_v4_0 installed.
Should the additional product images enlarge on click or hover. Mine don't, and I need to have them enlarge.
Any response would be helpful.
OK, found the solution that works for me.

make the
Image - Additional Image Width = Small Image Width
and
Image - Additional Image Height = Small Image Height

Set Product Info - Number of Additional Images per Row to something above 1.
I tried to upload and use this program and I installed the exact way as it was described but it did not work. So I went ahead and uninstalled it and after I ran the uninstall sql it messed up my product info display as you can see here on my site (link below). I am now missing my right side bar and the bottom of the page. Can someone help me? All the other pages still display correctly but product info pages no longer display the way they are supposed to.

Yeah, you have a php error somewhere. Recheck what you did to install it amd uninstall it, or restore from the back up you made before you installed.
I am running v1.5 and these are the problems I'm noticing:
First, in the instructions, "Delete the files in admin/includes/boxes/extra_boxes/" is not necessary. I don't think those folders exist in v1.5.
Next, what is up with the vertical alignment?? I tried going to Images > Product Info - Number of Additional Images per Row and changing it to something other than 1. But it still doesn't work.
And finally, the enlarge image option isn't available?? What good are these additional images if I can't enlarge them?
I will tinker with this code a little more but I'm very close to uninstalling...
Okay, I got frustrated with this so I tried to uninstall it as well. Now I'm having the same problem as mentioned by schobook, the bottom of my product info display pages are not showing up correctly.
I'm not very impressed with this mod.

You're right BTaylor351. I just glanced at the link and it looks like it's referring to the default FTP method of adding additional images. That works fine. But for those of us who are customizing our Zencarts for a client or someone whose not familiar with website maintenance or FTP- another option is needed. Took awhile but it is ready to go!
On 1.5.0 with the Additional Images module installed, the additional images show up without being clickable or able to enlarge; it only shows the thumbnail. (several posts about in this thread)
This is my workaround for them to be clickable and pop up when clicked in the lightbox frame.
The code comes directly from the latest version of the module itself, just moved some stuff around and added the "rel=" tag.
Currently only available for use with the LightBox plugin installed with it. Replace tpl_modules_additional_images.php with the attached file. Make sure you have lightbox installed and the additional images module or it may not work.

As I mentioned earlier, if this fix is something that should be in the main plugin download, it might be good to touch base with the last person who updated the plugin and collaborate with them on submitting this fix, either as a joint submission or on your own, whatever works for both of you.
I have tried all the tips that I read above but something still does not work for me.
I’ve got the “Catalogue-Additional images” under Admin and was able to upload an image.
But I noticed that in the box where I need to choose product for the additional image the products are marked with * like disabled, but there are enabled and could be seen from the site.
And after I upload an image it’s still not posted on the product page.
Any ideas what I have done wrong?

After transferring all the files and adding the statement to 'tpl_product_info_display.php' the page goes blank except for the original imagine. I added the statement just after it.

Hi Could anyone help? I am using ZenCart 1.3.9h. Everything was working ok and the product images are showing up, but when I go to upload images, the thumbnails are not clear.

When I look at the thumbnail images are simply reading: images/additional/Red-1.jpg and no URL.
Please help. Where can I change this setting? I get the same problem trying to view the Online Catalog link form the Admin panel.

I have in the last few days done some more work on my site and in doing so discovered that an Additional Images facility is already built in to V1.5 - and it works well with the lightbox plugin too, so all sorted.

I have installed this add-on and it works great except the images are all over the place on my product page, see here;

I have changed the Number of Additional Images per row to 5 but still the same problem. My images are sized at 250 high x 200 wide, otherwise they are too small to see. Any help would be appreciated as I don't want to have to uninstall this and add something else, it works great apart from this layout problem.

You have the additional image block of code multiple times in your template. Just search the file
includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/templates/tpl_product_info_display.php
for "additional" (case insensitive) and you'll see what I mean.
Module is completely *not* working on 1.5.3
Installed according to instructions, was able to access admin area for additional images, when at the final step for uploading additional image for particular item, page throws an error.

I have the Number of Additional Images per Row set to 3.
I have Show Product Additional Images = 1 for true.
Any help with this or as to why they're not displaying on the website would be really appreciated, I'm at a loss as to what I am doing wrong here. As swguy noted just a few posts back in this thread, the require for tpl_modules_additional_images.php may already be in your copy of tpl_product_info_display.php. In fact, it *will* be there unless you have a customized version of the file which omits it.
Did you ever try to use the stock method of displaying additional images? What results did you have, specifically? Give an example of actual filenames you used for main and additional images. (I don't know if this mod disables the stock method of recognizing additional images; if so, you would not be able to test the stock method now.)

You have to still name additional images for a product the stock way with the same name beginning, followed by _1.jpg etc.. ?You need to first upload the 'main' image the stock way before using Additional Images to add more?
Just to further add... I found if a product already had one "main" image within another folder adding more with Additional Images didn't work, even with the *_1.jpg file naming as those would end up in the "additional" folder with the main image elsewhere.
I haven't used this additional images mod myself, so you know more than me about its usage methods. If you have found ways that make it work, you should stick with them. I take it from your comments that uploading additional images with the mod without naming them like *_1.jpg etc. did not work?

I simply did not see a point in continuing with the original coding structure in this addon so, I started from scratch. I'd forgotten that a little while ago I was asked to update this module for ZC 1.5.5 partially because in communication it took a little while to be notified of satisfaction of the changes. Anyways, just uploaded version 2.1 of the plugin:

Fatal bug found: I installed this addon, but it does not worked. I have Zen Cart version 1.5.5. Error was in database. "Field 'category_id' doesn't have a default value". I changed it to null and now it works. Went many days to find the fault because Zen Card does not display error messages.

As to the lack of "display" of error logs, that is correct error logs are not displayed by a vanilla install of Zen Cart, though if they are being generated they can be made available in the admin by the plugin display logs or can be seen by ftp to the server and review of the logs folder. If they are not being generated, then recommend beginning a new thread as that issue is not pertinent to this plugin.

Now I continue hard work and try to get my Zen Cart to work. This seems to be a part of normal workflow with Zen Cart. It is very buggy software... Anything does not work as expected. Good side is that it's easy to edit source code.
You might want to check your software installation as the file admin/additional_product_images.php uses the admin function zen_draw_products_pull_down that is located in admin/includes/functions/general.php which is defined as:Quote:

Also, extra parameters do not cause a function to fail, having the wrong parameters lined up to the wrong inputs can cause a problem.
