This module is to falicitate the users to upload attach other products to a specific product. This can be used in place of "Customers who bought this also bought" module, just this time you are in control of which products to be shown on which product page. This module works seperately without chnaging any core files, adds a option to upload add Related products for a product and show those products on product info page on the site.
Let me know in case of any problems with this..

This installed without problem and is very easy to use. Just found one teeny issue that's easily worked around:
When I first click on Catalog->Related Products, none of the products in the default category (id=1) are displayed. If I click on another category and then on the default, the default category's products are now displayed and all else works flawlessly.

I do not have a tpl_product_info_default.php in my template folder. I have a tpl_product_info_display.php. If I add the code to that file it makes all the product info go blank on the page....
Nevermind, I got it to work by adding the code from the install file rather than the code on the main page of the mod instructions and I added the code to the tpl_product_info_display.php file, not the tpl_product_info_default.php.Quote:

I just installed the Related Products Mod. It works excellent. I also didn't have the tpl_product_info_default.php file but after trying the fixes in this thread, I got it to work.
I have an online music store and I was just using text links to lead people to "related products" such as cases for guitars. Now I can have a few icon links to help people find what they are looking for.

Ravi- Thanks! This is a very good add-on, much needed. One of the things I think would be particularly useful would be to be able to display this only if the product is out of stock. When my customer comes to buy something by name, the last thing I want is to have them befuddled with choices that send them surfing around again.

I have just installed this mod, and even though everything looks like it's working, it's not showing up in the shop.
I assume it's to do with the following installation instructions.

I've followed the advice in this thread and the related products are still not showing up on the product page. Everything appears to be working fine in admin, just not showing up in cart.

Based on everything I've read about this mod, I still can't figure out how it works. Does it display products from a certain category automatically? Or do you have to manually set which products display?
Right now using "Ultimate Cross Sell for Zen Cart" and it is very annoying because every product has to be set individually. This is not good because there is a lot to manage, and if a product is sold out then it still displays unless you manually remove it.

In Related Products v1.3, install the optional admin. After putting in the family name into a product, the family name is not retrieved from the database when you edit a product.
To fix this problem, edit
admin\includes\modules\product\collect_info.php
find the line that has
p.products_sort_order,
and change it to
p.products_sort_order, p.products_family,
just installed this in zc 1.5 and the read me says 'You will need to enter text into the products_family column' problem is I cant see a products family column, anyone shed any light as to what I may have done wrong?
When I edit a product, the Product Family Keyword box is just above the Products URL box.
Nothing was showing for me there but I have now installed the optional admin files and it's there now, had to merge though as I already had 2 mods using some of those files (CEON URI Mapping and numinix product fields) so had already been merged twice, 3 times now, main thing is it's now working.Quote:

Today I successfully installed this plugin in ZC1.5, I wish I could add more info here as I'm also a new zenner, and hope to share with other new zenners.

All you need to do is just follow the readme instruction written by Ravi, and adding the new files from JOE. Take care of the files with OPTIONAL-admin-files\includes\modules, ensure that you 'winmerge' them (if you installed other plugins previously).

I've change the 'Related product' to 'Product You May Wanna Know'.
So I also used Pickupman's plugin. My only problem is that I would like to have the item show the price and also an "add to cart button".
Also, just curious songseng: where did you change the text from "related product" to "products you may want to know"

is anyone still supporting this add on? I've attempted to upload it numerous times into 1.5.1 and each time my product pages are not showing any data in admin. In fact, I get the error "WARNING: An Error occurred, please refresh the page and try again." This wasn't happening until after I uploaded the optional files from pickupman. I've modified the tpl_product_info_display.php with the code referencing the related products, and I've made sure it is in my custom template folder. Before adding the optional files, I followed advice from JOE and added my products_family column in mySQL database. I added a couple of product family names, but when going to the live site, an error shows up, "WARNING: An Error occurred, please refresh the page and try again," and I assume it is appearing where the related products would show up. I tried to go into my admin and add a new product. When doings so, I can see the product fields (which are not visible when trying to modify an existing product), but when I try to "insert" the product, I get an error.
Does anybody have an idea of what I am doing wrong? I'd really like to get this to work. Another thing, when I download the files from pickupman, the readme is in a different format, .md, so I have not been able to actually read it. I downloaded an evaluation copy of Mayura Draw (I'm assuming that's what .md files are?) but it won't open the readme.

OK, I found part of the problem...in my database, I incorrectly named the new column "product_family" instead of "products_family." Once I made that change, things started showing up both in admin and in my live site. I'm still, however, not seeing the configuration tab in Product Info. In fact, when installing the plugin, I never saw the "install button" on my Admin page, so while I'm almost 100% functional, something is still missing. Any help would be appreciated.

I uploaded Related Products v15x from the Latest Version link in Zen Cart on 06/10/2018 (today).
I was able to successfully upload and create relationships in the Related Products Manager, but the related products are not showing up on my site when I navigate to the products.
Your instructions say to update "tpl_product_info_default.php" with the code quoted below, but I couldn't find that file. Instead, I found "tpl_product_info_display.php," and found the code already there. The "..._default" could not be found in the /includes/templates/template_default/templates/ folder either where you suggested to go to copy it.

I recently had someone upgrade my site to the latest version of Zen Cart, and we migrated to a new URL. I wanted to continue using Related Products. I used Related Products before very successfully, and it was the version that had the "products family" defined in the product info page. I'm not sure if that code carried over to my current site, maybe that's why I found the code already in the "..._display" file. In the version I was using, there was a field in the product info page for "Product Family," and that's where I was adding notations for related products. That version worked great for me. In this new version, it seems that functionality is lost. It seems to me having to look up every relationship and create it takes more time then simply adding a notation in the product info page. Here is what I found in the file "tpl_product_info_display.php." I had the Cross Sell Module put in, too, but it's not working either. I am showing it here because I was wonder if the two are conflicting with each other?

I installed this great plugin on 1.5.0 and got it working except it shows only 1product per row. Does anybody have had same problem and maybe a fix to it?

I installed zen cart 2.1.0 and i love it, it is a fresh installation with an upgraded database fro ZC 1.5.5f,
i do not need lots of plugins but i have to have 3 plugins installed and one of them is Related Products (the latest),
I followed the installation procedure and i already have the "Related Family" column in the product table from previous installation,
I grouped related products together and update the table (after i backed up the database), products shows nicely under the related products header, i am happy with it except for one thing, lots of log warnings and almost all of them is like this:

Well, i do not know what line 91 do in the post above, i know one thing when you browse the site and every time you click to go to another page it was creating a log file indicating a warning in line 91.
So, i decided to comment out lines 90 and 91 from/Admin/includes/functions/extra_functions/reloaded_related_products_functions.php
