Cannot access admin

Hi i recently re-directed my URL to include the www.
I changed the .htaccess file to

RewriteEngine on
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^.*$
RewriteRule ^gamenet\.net\.au\/?$ "http\:\/\/gamenet\.net\.au\/" [R=301,L]

RewriteEngine ON

RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^gamenet\.net\.au [NC]
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.gamenet.net.au/$1 [R=301,NC,L]

basically it redirected my gamenet.net.au url to www.gamenet.net.au

When i try and log onto my admin side, i type my username and password. and nothing happens. It is not the wrong password. because when i remove that code it works. I need the code so i do not want to remove it.

However when i was logging on i noticed inthe bottom left corner "connecting to gamenet.net.au" Maybe this will help to solve my problem. Should it connect to www.gamenet.net.au instead or does it not matter? Also. yesterday i had slightly different code i think. however i was able to get into admin. howver when i tried changing a page's description it would not work. i removed the htaccess file and magically it worked again.

Could someone please explain this to me, or give me a solution, thanks!

That is now my code. but problem still hasnt fixed :(

Oh no. sorry but i had the code wrong. I entered this code correctly before however i could not edit any page.

The code above must work in conjunction with your two "configure.php" files. In both of those you must make sure your Domain Name or URL is also using the 'www' in it.

I made this change to switch over to a dedicated ssl, however cannot access my login (it's just a blank page). I'm fairly positive it's based on something in one of the configure.php files, any idea what would be driving this error?

I am right there with you Throwdown... Have triple checked my 2 configure files (admin/includes/configure.php and configure.php in the root. I did just move over to SSL and now I am stuck. I cannot get into my admin page.

The site is fully functional otherwise, but not admin entrance. Any help would be appreciated. I know I am missing something simple

1. Was access previously available?

2. To say; "moved over to SSL" is confusing as it is more correct to say you had SSL installed. If you had to "move" somewhere then where did you move to?

I just modified my configure.php files to enable to "true".

Could you post, from the server, without your username, password or secret admin directory name, the files:

Could you check in the /cache directory and see if you have any debug log files generated ...

Also, did you perchance rename your 'admin' dir. and not include the new name in your config file?

I have quite a few, but I've never cleared that area (that I know of) so don't want to post a lot of files. Is there any way to shuffle through to see the latest ones?

Also should note, even though I change the permissions in my cpanel for the includes/configure.php, it seems to flip back quickly. And I get the "[a fatal error or timeout occurred while processing this directive]" error when saving the page.

Same happened to me. However i did it numerous times, reloaded page etc and it then worked.

Where are the two configure files? i know one is in
public_html -> includes

If you have yet to rename the 'admin' folder then the second configure.php file is in public_html/admin/includes/

They are dated so that you can see which is the newest error message ...

You should read through them, or ... delete all but today's errors and start reading as there should not be any errors in the /cache ...

NOTE: be sure you only delete the log files as there are 2 other files in there that should not be deleted ...

Hope this is correct, but I was looking through the files. They look to only be responses from our payment gateway when a transaction was approved/denied for sale.

There is however only one file in there besides the sale notifications, titled index.php

I have checked the permissions on the index.php and they are set to 7-5-5

I am referring to the permissions on the directory:
/cache

so that the error logs can be written to it ...

That is 7-5-5 as well.

Does your server allow 777 or is 755 enough for writing to the directories? :unsure:

Server does allow for 777 - using Hostgator.

Set the directory:
/cache

to be 777 and then trigger your errors and see what shows in there ...

NOTE: be sure, after triggering the errors, that you refresh the directory ...

Hoping I'm doing this correctly, but I'm trying to go to the blank page by going to my admin, but doesn't look to be triggering any errors to my cache directory.

Have you made any customizations to your /admin files such as new add ons etc?

If not, what happens if you reload the /admin directory to your server ...

I believe the only add-on we currently have is the manufacturers list and Apsona ShopAdmin

I would try loading the files again to the /admin ... be sure that you have a backup of these files before overwriting them ...

I have finally located the configure.php in /admin.

Now back to the problem.

I cannot gain access to my /admin.

The problem all started when i re-directed my url to include www.

I changed the public_html - includes - configure.php file.

And am yet to change the /admin one.

I do not know what to change, can someone please help me.

In post #12 of this thread you posted your "admin/includes/configure.php" file and yet, the image shows no such file. Either find the previous one and upload it or upload the default one; which is named "dist-configure.php" and you rename it.

You should always have a default copy of any script being used on the site. If you don't have one for Zen Cart you can get one using the Download link on the Home page of this site: http://zen-cart.com/

I continue to get the same error on my includes/configure.php file of [a fatal error or timeout occurred while processing this directive]

everytime I try to go back in and save. I try to change the permissions before hand but they don't seem to save. Could that be the issue (although they somehow worked when I saved it to true for enable ssl).

At this point, I just need to be able to access my admin area again. :(

Oh and if anyone is able to help I'd be more than happy to buy you a cup of coffee, a case of beer, etc.

Just keep trying, mine fixed its self and i was able to once again change permission of the file :).

Okay Sir, I have now downloaded the default dis-configure file for /admin/includes.
I renamed it the file configure.php
This whole problem started when I redirected my url to include the www. And I was told I need to change both configure files.
My URL is http://www.gamenet.net.au/
If you, or anyone could put my URL where it is needed I will be eternally great-full.

Finally!! I had not removed all the files from IH2.... It was causing errors that caused my admin to fail. I have to redo some things, but it is worth it now that I can get into the backend...

Open both of them with a Text or HTML Editor.


As your front end is working we know your "include/configure.php" file is setup correctly. Now you need to compare that with the Admin one.

Especially important is the Database information, which must be exactly the same in both files.

This is an example only of where to look.

I had a look at the DB details in the /admin/includes configure file and they were different, So i did what you said and made sure the DB connection details are defined exactly the same as the public_html/includes configure file. and have uploaded them both again.

But still no good.

What you have posted are the same files

BOTH the store side version

The admin file is different and if you have over wrote it with the store side version this is why you are having issues

You will have to get - - rebuild the proper admin version
