Here is the answer to our client's private message.
To edit the contact information, change phone number, facebook, twitter and blog icon or links at the bottom of the template you should edit the "\includes\languages\english\extra_definitions\abagon\footer_menu_defines.ph p" file of your Zen Cart.

To add any new Youtube of Pinterest icons you should edit the same file.

I edited and added to the file for pinterest and a fb like....no such luck...I also uploaded the gifs etc. Here is what I have done to the links etc below....

To remove the categories from the header you should turn off the "Categories-Tabs Menu" of the "Configuration - Layout Settings" section of your admin area. More information you can read there:

As regards the bottom Facebook icons and contact information, please be sure you modified just the
"\includes\languages\english\extra_definitions\abagon\footer_menu_defines.ph p" file that is located on your server. We have verified the location once again and the information is placed here. Please also be sure you saved the modified file correctly after editing.

Do you have an email I can send you the file to? I have only changed the appropriate file, and nothing changes for twitter etc etc. I have also changed to my phone and fax and it does not change either. Browser cache cleaned, and even tried in another browser and samething...no changes...if not please follow the link to a pic of what I have done...tankx

I believe that the issue is not in the file inside. The issue is that you edited wrong file. Please be sure you modified the
"\includes\languages\english\extra_definitions\abagon\footer_menu_defines.ph p" exactly of the aBagon Zen Cart template (NOT abagon_black, abagon_blue and etc). Maybe, you have another language folder name that is different from "english" name. In that case you should edit the file that is located in this folder and not in "english". Please, sent there the screenshot of the file editor page that shows the direction/path to the edited file.
The support email of our site is support (@) pixemus.com. But unfortunately, we do not provide free support for the free templates via our support system according to our support policy. So, please post the messages there as the thread is intended exactly for this purpose.
As a solution you can order our service to make the modification.

I will look into different templates as I am not paying 45$ for the edit to 1 file....especially when I have done the correct file over and over and over...even clean installed etc

I am using the template now, but there is a big problem, I have three level categories, when I click the second category the third categories under it not shown.

Your categories/subcategories are all opened and it is very difficult to see where I am, even using your link. Can you link to a product that is in this third-level sub-sub-category to help us orient? Thanks.

The first way is to place the logo right inside your first logo via any graphic editor.
If you want to place another link to the second logo you should edit the following file around "logo" wrapper place:
includes\templates\abagon_free\common\tpl_header.php

The best way to define certain place to edit I suggest you using Firebug addon for Firefox or almost the same Google Chrome Developer Panel.

No custom styling has been applied to the input field, so it is the browser default color etc. Add to your stylesheet

Adjust to taste.

I don't see any "white area with product name" at this time.

Hi, I have attempted to contact you privately but fail to? Is there a way I can contact you please?

I have been using abagon for several months and think it's a really good theme. I hope someone can help me as I am not sure if there is an issue with ez pages and abagon? I have trawled through various threads looking for an answer but can't find anything - basically I want to create a TOC on the page called FAQ in the top menu, and then create sub pages for various articles relating to different products (eg. How to limewash). Whatever I try this just wont work (see below screen shot, maybe I am doing something dumb). Here is a link to the page http://stoneconservation.net/supplies/faq-ezp-3.html

Yes, we do not touch any default Zen Cart functionality for our themes, so the TOC on the EZ-Pzges works correctly for the aBagon theme. Please be sure you specified all the parameters of the page in appropriate way. For example:
Chapter: 10
TOC: Yes
Order: 20

You just need to enable an appropriate sidebox (Layout Boxes Controller -> categories_popup.php) in your admin area for the premium aBagon theme. Please note, free version of this theme does not have this feature.

As I understand you need to change the subcategory of the sidebox. You need to change appropriate CSS class of this element. To know the certain CSS class and files to edit we suggest you using Google Chrome developer panel. It is easy and free and all the code places are defined by one click.

To make the aBagon theme wider, you need to change the "width" parameter of the following classes of the CSS for the template. For instance, if you want to have 1150px in width, you need to change as follows:

.body-bottom-bg {
{SOME OTHER PARAMENTERS}
width: 1150px;
}

and modify the "bottom-wrapper" width parameter in accordance to your new width.
All these CSS classes you can find easily by any search and define the CSS files to edit. The best way to make any changes and define certain CSS classes and files to edit by one click, I suggest you using Google Chrome developer panel. Great manuals and examples of it are there:

To change the font size you need to use the same ways. Just change the font size for body CSS class, and then if you need, for any special elements. You will find any elements of the template, its CSS classes, parameters, files location and even PHP files by its search via Google Developer panel easily by one click.

I have the following problem with aBagon. I installed the Dutch and German language pack and now the footer menu is not working. I found how to change the heads: contact information - quick links - information - customer service in footer_menu_defines but everything that is under that, is not visible in dutch and german, only in English. I mean the telefon, fax, fb etc, and the links. They are not there in the other language. Please help me out here! Thanks in advance

Yes, it occurs due to Zen Cart language architecture. You need to copy all the template English language folders to each new language folders and translate them. For instance, you need to copy the language file that is responsible for the bottom info to your new language folder with the same folders structure as you have now in English language.

The Zen portion of our site is in a subdirectory of our main site (e.g. mysite.com/zencart) I am trying to change the link for "Home" to the root directory (mysite.com) instead of the index page for the zen store (mysite.com/zencart)

where is this located??

Hi, I am having trouble changing the aBagon ps3 banner. I have got it to say what I want but I can not find where to edit it. It does not show up under banner_1 and if I put a banner in the banner_1 section I end up with two banners but only one working. I hope this makes sense. Could someone please tell me where to find this?

These home page banners are added via "includes\languages\english\html_includes\abagon\define_main_page.php" file. You can edit this file via Define Page Editor section of your admin area wither. Or you can use standard banners functionality to add some banners on home page.

Black: click

There is no flex-slider in the aBagon Free version, please clarify your question.

I hope it's this is the same creator. Also, if this the right place to ask about this template, maybe you can tell as to why the Logo doesn't show in IE8. I am have a problem changing the Header and Footer on a Free Abagon Template on certain servers

I have uploaded a test cart to a server and edited all the files and it all works great but when I come to edit the same files on the new server I lose the Header and Footer.

If I just change the Footer I lose the Header and Footer and visa a versa.

Even if I change one letter and change it back it will not load.

I am new to zen cart so any help would be great

It is hard to say something. The language files of header and footer are independent even if you edit its template php files, so the header can not influence the footer. Please be sure you are not mixing up your servers and editing the correct files in correct places. Let me know if you solved the issue.

Thanks for your help - I think it's a problem with the hosting server, I found if I edit/upload via cPanel all works great, if I edit/upload via FTP with FileZilla the files were only partly uploading but showing successfully. I searched google and it seems that the server should respond with an '4' error to show it didn't upload but some servers return '2'.

I've installed free version of abagon. Zencart 1.5.4.

Sometimes, I found the middle column width will increase (as below image). Refreshing the page, it will become normal.

And the banner (just under the slideshow) shortened then the middle column width.

This is my test site of zen 1.5.4. I don't know why but this banner width is just fit the middle column in my zen1.5.1 website.

I've found the problem and fix it. The increased column width was due to the size of the Zencart preset banner too long. After I removed that banner, all problems solved!

I can't figure out how to remove the shopping bag and blue arrow right above the search box.
Can someone help on this?

Oh, it looks like the forum have not notified us about new message on these thread. Sorry, for no responding. Just wanted to place some new answer to our customer and saw these new message. Anyway I will answer to them for placing helpful information for other customers.

To solve all these issues, you need to find appropriate HTML element, remove it or hide via CSS style file (display: none;). How to find any CSS class or appropriate HTML element in seconds, please read there:

This variable was removed from the theme header, as we assumed that there are no space for it. But if you need it, you can easily place this "<?php HEADER_SALES_TEXT ?>" variable to any place of the template you want and it will be shown.

I have a customer who uses this template on a 1.5.4 site I am upgrading to 1.5.7.

Will this template "as is" work with 1.5.7?

Judy, I've not looked at the template's coding, but my initial guess is No.

- EZ-Pages are now multi-lingual, which could throw a wrinkle into the template's display.
- zc156 introduced the zen_is_logged_in() and zen_in_guest_checkout() functions, removing the need for templates to do a direct check on $_SESSION['customer_id'].
- PHP version updates and deprecations (e.g. no more each())
- Coding standards regarding undefined constants and variables are now more strict (as imposed by now-current PHP versions). Ditto for MySQL directives.
