Looking to get CEON uri mappings manager?
Hi Everyone!
Im looking to buy CEON uri Mappings manager. I remember it was on CEONS website for £50 but sadly he has passed away and it isn't available on his site anymore.
The only other place I can find it is at JSWeb for £90 but this seems too steep for the addon as CEON was only selling it at £50 himself.
Is there anywhere else I can find it?
Danny

Re: Looking to get CEON uri mappings manager?
I believe that JSweb have taken over the running of Ceon to a degree.
-
Re: Looking to get CEON uri mappings manager?
Its a shame I will have to pay £40 more to get the same version of a module that I could have bought before but I was just a little late.
-
Re: Looking to get CEON uri mappings manager?
how many products do you have, too many to do manually?
-
Re: Looking to get CEON uri mappings manager?
Far too many to do manually, I have used other SEO modules that generate everything for you but I much prefer CEONS.
I've been searching and searching and haven't found anywhere else to get the module.
-
Re: Looking to get CEON uri mappings manager?
Just an update, I have ever increasingly been thinking about simply getting it from JSWeb but now I can't even find it at £90 and the only one I can find the the website is £135 or £160 if I want them to install it!
They are charging over double what ceon where charging for something they haven't contributed to?

They told me in an e-mail that the difference in price is being donated in whole/part to Conor's estate.. Seems they should be a tad more upfront about that.. It would eliminate the appearance of something being not quite kosher.. (IJS)

Re: Looking to get CEON uri mappings manager?
It seems wrong that they are also charging £75 for the URI mappings plugin that you can get on the addons directory for free? it says at the bottom of the page:
Quote:
* Where a module is not one created by JSWeb, or commissioned by JSWeb, the fee we charge is for installation and configuration ONLY unless stated otherwise; where a module is a commercial offering from a 3rd party, that fact, along with the cost of the module itself, will be made clear and we will also supply a link to the origin of that module in case you wish to purchase directly from the supplier. Most of the free modules are available on the Zen Cart website.
But it doesn't seem to state on the page that this is actually a free module. This doesn't just seem to be for CEONS stuff either, I've had a look at other modules such as Easy Populate which is the same.
I would be happy to pay £50 straight to connors estate and get the module he made. All it seems JSWeb are doing is over doubling the price just for having it on there site and offering "support" but I dont want support because there is a whole forum of awesome people here willing to help. What are other peoples thoughts on JSWeb?
Many thanks,
Daniel

Here's my thoughts on JSWeb. He's running a business offering products and services. He's entitled to make money for the work he does. He's also entitled to use that money any way he wants. If he prices his services too high he won't make any money. Jamie has gotten the rights to sell and support Conor's mods. He now sets the price and rules. If you don't like it don't buy it. Write it yourself. Coming to a forum looking for a bootleg copy at a lower price and complaining because you can't get it just isn't right.
You asked ;-)
-
Re: Looking to get CEON uri mappings manager?
True, I know that in the end this is just me moaning that the prices are too high and that I was too late in buying it at the lower price. I am nowhere near the skill that connor was to make the mod myself. I don't want a bootleg copy, I was never aware that any money was going to Connors estate, I just wanted the £50 mod that was offered on Connors website with the money to go to his charity/estate as I thought his parents were keeping CEON going. As Jamie got all the rights and there is no other place to get the mod, I either pay JSWeb or don't. Simple as that.
Sorry for the moaning :(

I don't think the OP was looking for a bootleg at all..
that said, I need to clarify my previous post..
What you say is fine and dandy for NEW customers.. but I do think that EXISTING Ceon customers do have some legit questions/concerns with the new structure (around pricing and upgrades, etc), and MY POST was based on that POV..
(and before it's asked.. yes I did express my questions/concerns to JSWeb -- I shared them because I know that I am not the only existing Ceon customer with these same questions/concerns)

Re: Looking to get CEON uri mappings manager?
Le sigh. Looks like they're now not only charging 270% of what Conor did (and their conversion rate to USD isn't right), but there's an annual £50 licensing fee.
F that. I want to support Conor's estate, if that's what the exorbitant cost goes toward, but not to the tune of that much. Conor wouldn't do that.
I'm just going to give JSWeb an evil glare, grumble, and take care of my cleanup via mysql queries.

And I have chosen to convert to USU.. I have no problem with paying for good mods, but legacy owners of this product who had access to unlimited updates all had to suck wind from the onset as we were all told that the license we THOUGHT we had was no longer going to be honored.. We had to BUY a new license (at TWICE the price) and "get over it".. No thank you.. I'm good for now..

Be honest part of why the product available by searching on google for 'Easy Populate v4 with CEON URI Mapping' is available as it is right now is that with a little pickup in demand there is intention to support the estate if it can be identified. Call it "throwing back to the oldies" if you will, but seemed like there was a need to be filled to a personally acceptable extent...

Re: Looking to get CEON uri mappings manager?
It's open source and interacts with zen cart core code so it's gpl. Conor acknowledged this, and also acknowledged that the only part of his modules protected by copyright is the instructions/readme. I have the Advanced Shipper mod that has been updated to work with the latest USPS and FedEx API, I want to package it up to share but have neither the time nor inclination to rewrite the installation and configuration instructions as apparently JS owns or controls the copyright to them. I wouldn't have so much problem with the price except the code has been obfuscated so I can't alter it..... I absolutely hate that and will never support anything that obfuscates code.

So, I don't own the software myself but have seen the warnings posted. Not sure if it matters to you or not, but it is my understanding that if you were to post the code sans instructions it may be possible that future versions of the software may not be permitted to be purchased from them. As for the obfuscation of the code... It's a commercial module. I thought under at least one of the gpl licenses that the source code is required to be given or given upon request... I can't remember. Those issues though are between the vendor and the customer.

Re: Looking to get CEON uri mappings manager?
I am not seeing this plug anywhere online for purchase. Does anyone know where I can find this? I tried searching for JSWeb and I don't see a JSWeb with the plugin either.
Thank you.
-
Re: Looking to get CEON uri mappings manager?
The legal status of Advanced Shipper and URI Mappings Manager needs to be made clear so they can be made available.
Otherwise they will disappear completely or pop up unsupported by anyone on sharing sites and nothing will go to Conor's estate at all.
I don't think anyone here would be happy with either of those options.
Is anyone in a position to take this further with Conor's estate?
-

Re: Looking to get CEON uri mappings manager?
I've been using the EP4 plugin for Ceon... it takes care of the job, so....

Hi,
My name is Neil Kerr, I am Conor's younger brother.
My family and I are in the process of relaunching Ceon, in memory of Conor and would appreciate if you could have a look at the following post;

From a search of the internet for Ceon URI Mappings Manager, the following list of features were identified for the software:
Quote:
Ceon URI Mappings Manager:
Bulk-generate Static URIs for Pages
Generate URI Mappings for entire categories at once - including their subcategories and all their products.
If the store uses software such as Easy Populate, or Apsona ShopAdmin, or other custom product feeds, Ceon URI Mappings Manager makes it possible to maintain the URIs, as they can be generated after products/categories are bulk-uploaded/updated.
Generate URI Mappings for all the standard “other” Zen Cart pages at once (Contact Us page, Shipping page, All Products listing page etc.), or for all Manufacturers or EZ-Pages at once.
Redirect the Store's Old/Current URIs - Prevent Broken Links
[Currently for Categories/Product only; support for other page types coming in 2.0.0] Batch Import Old URIs - Stores that have URIs generated by other software, such as Ultimate SEO, Simple SEO, Magic SEO etc., can import these existing URIs as historical URI mappings.
The old SEO module's URIs will redirect to the new Ceon URI Mapping URIs, reducing the possibility of broken links from search engines and other sites!
[New For 1.4.0] Fallback URI Mapping/Import - Have any old Ultimate SEO URLs category, product, manufacturer, EZ-Page, product review page and product review info page URIs, and/or Simple SEO URLs category, product, manufacturer and EZ-Page URIs, automatically mapped to their new Ceon URI Mapping URIs: As these old URIs are encountered for the first time they are imported as historical URIs.
Set Auto-generation Templates
Define auto-generation “templates” for the entire store, or for individual categories, for manufacturers, EZ-Pages or “other” pages. E.g. Products could have their model included in the URI: /{category-path}/{product-name}-{product-model}.
Manage Current/Historical URI Mappings and Aliases
Add, edit and delete URI mappings for any Zen Cart page through its intuitive interface - there's no longer any need to manually edit the database!
[Coming in 2.2.0] Examine, add and delete historical URI mappings - prevent broken links by redirecting the visitor to the current URI for any page.
[Coming in 2.4.0] Add, edit and delete URI mapping aliases for other pages - optimise the site's keywords further!
Ceon URI Mappings Manager can quickly generate/add URI mappings for each category/product/page for an existing store.
Basically it performs not only what would be desired for a store that is established and would like to use human readable addresses, but also offers some automation to the process.
I removed some of the "advertising" part of it to limit to just the features.
-
Re: Looking to get CEON uri mappings manager?
Its basic advantage is a simple way to re-generate urls after an import of new products, or after a reorganisation/moving stuff around/renaming of categories.
I also use a custom url format in some sections.
I have never not used it, I bought it from the off, to show support for the work involved in the rewriter "free" code..
I am surprised to see it is not offered at ceon.net, but contact them to pursue this.

What i'm looking to do is re-generate all URL for a specific language ID to add a prefix (and redirect old URL's)
For ex. all spanish url (lang id 5)
Convert from misitioweb.com/mi-nuevo-artículo to misitioweb.com/es/mi-nuevo-artículo and redirect misitioweb.com/mi-nuevo-artículo to misitioweb.com/mi-nuevo-artículo
Can this be accomplished without the manager add-on?
Where can I get the manager add-on?

Can it be done without the manager, yes. Whatever process is used the mappings are intended to always exist with old mappings being disabled and new ones becoming the active mapping with only one record being active for any asociated destination.

Re: Looking to get CEON uri mappings manager?
Out of interest, I just tried what you are intending.
On my slow laptop it took 15 minutes to create 575 urls of
shop/en/category/product and
shop/es/categoria/producto
I did not have to further modify the .htaccess for the links to work.
Calls to shop/category/product were redirected to shop/en/category/product correctly.
So the answer to your post is yes the process works very easily with the Mappings Manager.
Now, from where are you intending to source the software, since it is not offered on the CEON site?

Re: Looking to get CEON uri mappings manager?
Does anyone know if the URI Mapping Manager is available and where I can download it? I know it was available at one time and if I understand correctly, it was a "paid" add-on. I am willing to pay for it if I can download it "now". I have 18,000 parts that need their mappings done in a short period of time and doing it one at a time just isn't cutting it.
Thanks

Yes it was a paid add-on, well worth it.
The family at ceon.net have it.

Unfortunately, it's not available on the site yet. People need to use their contact us form and request it. MC123456789 also has a commercial module for Easy Populate 4 that will create URIs for existing products and it's not too expensive.

I'm also using the ep4 exporter for CEON.
However, since I've contacted the ceon site and didn't get no response, this module for me is presently a huge trap. It doesn't work with zc156.
If you are about to spread you're links with this module, think it over or try to contact with ceon site to know the current status.
