Amazon Pay for USA?

Yesterday I spent a lot of time installing the AMAZON PAY (for European stores) plugin. It wasn't until I had installed the module, and did a sandbox test that I discovered the plugin is for UK, DE, FR, etc. stores. I was able to do a successful test with my US amazon pay account but since the "pay region" doesn't include the US I did search on this forum and found it is not US compliant. I would think anyone using it would be charged international exchange rates if they used the plugin.

Anyway my reason for posting is to suggest:

Is it possible someone can change the wording of the plugin's name to say it's for just UK, DE, FR, etc. so others not in those regions will not waste time trying to install it. Neither the name of the plugin nor the description says anything about being for just certain regions.

I did the exact same thing yesterday. Is there an Amazon Pay plugin for the US??

1.) I wrote the UK developer that wrote the plugin and they responded back they no longer support that plugin and suggested I contact amazon.
2.) I contacted Amazon and said the following;

==> I have a zen-cart store and was wondering if you offer the ability to add amazon pay for zen-cart users. I keep getting email from you guys about adding amazon pay.

3.) I did find a website that offered a Amazon Pay module for $50 but I am a bit leery as I don't know the developer, my research of them makes me a little concerned and I don't feel enough details in the description is enough to determine if it will work with a particular store version. I did write and ask them if it work with 1.56c for usa and they said yes it works with all versions of zen-cart. Still I don't feel comfortable about it.

I would be willing to pay $50 to one of the developers here but not someone I found by googling.

Oh well maybe someday. :blink:

Thank you for following up on this! I would be willing to pay $50 as well, but I'm now thinking of migrating away from ZenCart since it seems to be not as popular/supported anymore. Amazon works with these commerce providers: https://pay.amazon.com/integration

Best do some thorough investigating before you make any change.

There is NO better support in all of e-commerce than this forum. Try to get an answer from a developer in any of those "Premiere Partners."

Not one of those "Premiere Partners" will validate in either html or css out-of-the-box. None can match all the free mods of ZC. AND, even with the purchase of one or two commercial ZC mods you would save $$$$.

If it's zucando, they are 100% trustworthy

I had the same issue...Kept on receiving Amazon Pay emails, which mentioned Zencart, so I decided to sign up. After getting everything setup, couldn't find an Amazon Pay module. :-(

Did anyone ever try the zucando $50 Amazon pay plugin? Does it work in the US?

I messaged him, but unfortunately I haven't received an answer on this. I don't understand why there isn't a current Amazon Payment module for zencart. Amazon is the largest pay platform at this point it seems like on the planet and zencart still is a huge open source cart platform. There must be someone out there who has tried zucando's $50 amazon pay module, if so please post your findings.

Unfortunately, that mod did not work for me in the U.S. and I have not received any support for it. I would be happy to go in with some other developers to pay someone to do a custom solution. Has anyone ever organized a pool to get a custom mod done? I'm fine if it is eventually open-sourced.

ok, i'm working on a paypal Amazon Pay module for the US for zen-cart.

i am unclear at this point if and how i will release it to the community.

that said, if someone on here wants to help with the testing/debugging of this module, please PM me. i will need to know your ZC version, your PHP version, your website URL, and any hosting information.

my version of this payment module will NOT require any changes to any core ZC files or modifications to the structure of any base ZC tables. it will allow for separate authorizations and captures (or do them together in one step), as well as full and partial refunding of transactions.

right now i have successfully done all of the aforementioned transactions. but it will need much more testing for use with OPC, and guest checkouts.

I tried it and it works however I would not use it as it is right now. There is no check in place to see if a customers email is used already within zencart. Testing it out it would just create duplicate accounts using the same customers email if you were to make multiple orders or simple go back and change your address when making an order. I contacted zucando to see if he can address the issue but he is not responding to my emails so not sure what to do at the moment.

Looking though the code of the EU module that is available in the download section seems to have code in place to properly create and check for duplicate accounts. The two modules need to be made into one as everything is there code wise they just need to be merged properly.

Just saw the following notice from Amazon which will affect both these modules so I would not use them since they are not going to work after Dec. 2023:
