Thank you for a report.
In addition, thank you for an introduction in your site.
I am glad that there is one using. :D

Id really like to use this!
I have it uploaded now, and I'm wondering if there is an easy way to change the location, i.e.:
Please set the following with an option of a wordpress management screen.
-- Blog address (URI):Your_ZenCart_URL/index.php?main_page=wordpress
I dont want it on the main page. Could I use a page_2 or any other pages?

ok, now, after tooling around with it forever, i realize that the question i should have asked is:
how can i get the wordpress sideboxes to only show on the wordpress page?
tia.
-
Now I do not make a side box displaying an individual article and the latest article.
I intend to cope in the future.
You oneself makes it, and it is hearty welcome to feed it back ::tup

The answer to this question can be found here
I'm insterested in talking to anyone who is using this contribution. I'm having trouble getting my links to show, and I'm wondering if this is add-on that I need to code, or ??
I'm reading up on the Wordpress site, trying to figure out some customizing. Would love to hear from anyone doing the same.
-
When a user was accessing wordpress, You wanted to display a side box.
I misunderstood it.
-
I wrote a WordPress Page and it came out as a Post:
http://coral.he.net/~cpp/index.php?main_page=wordpress
I assumed it would go where "More Information" is on the bottom left (Page 1, Page 2, Page 3, etc).
-
Nevermind. I did indeed write a WordPress Post accidentally. However, I just tried a WordPress Page and it doesn't show up anywhere. How can I insert it into a sidebar?

I accessed your blog. A change of a style sheet and an optional change have not yet come.
Will you want to display a wopdpress original side bar to a central column?

Hello Hira,
Thank you for the response. The website that I am developing is not my blog. Here is the temporary URL:
http://coral.he.net/~cpp/index.php
I don't know much about PHP, so I don't know if I can insert WP code into a ZC file. Any ideas? I'd like for the WordPress Pages to appear where the ZenCart Pages (1, 2, 3, 4) are listed.

Added functions are as follows.
**Because there is a revision of a style sheet, please read readme.
A revision of a design
add a sidebox of a pages
add a sidebox of a links
add a sidebox of a latest posts
able to display RSS feed in URL of [index.php?main_page=wordpress&feed=rss2].
(the use of google sitemap was enabled by this)

What is an error?

There was a mistake in readme of WordPress On ZenCart
before
.leftboxcontent ul li, .rightboxcontent ul li , .singleboxcontent ul li{
list-style-type: none;
margin:0px;
padding-left: 0px;
}
.leftboxcontent ul,rightboxcontent ul , .singleboxcontent ul{
margin:0px;
padding-left:0px;
}
.leftboxcontent ul ul,rightboxcontent ul ul, .singleboxcontent ul ul{
list-style-type: square;
margin:0px;
padding-left:5px;
}
after
.leftboxcontent ul li, .rightboxcontent ul li , .singleboxcontent ul li{
list-style-type: none;
margin:0px;
padding-left: 0px;
}
.leftboxcontent ul, .rightboxcontent ul , .singleboxcontent ul{
margin:0px;
padding-left:0px;
}
.leftboxcontent ul ul, .rightboxcontent ul ul, .singleboxcontent ul ul{
list-style-type: square;
margin:0px;
padding-left:5px;
}
In addition, the change mentioned above is needless because I revised readme on today when it is downloaded in future.

Re: Wordpress On Zencart / Released
I installed wordpress according to the instructions. Blog address (URI):http://www.dojoma.com/wordpress with Blog address (URI):http://www.dojoma.com/index.php?main_page=wordpress . My problem is that when I click on any blog category I get "My Zencart categories displayed on top of the page. Anyone experienced this problem?
Thanks to anybody that can help.

Re: Wordpress On Zencart / Released
Does anyone know where is the css file for wordpress, I have search everywhere and the center column of wordpress is too wide pushing my column two of my store outside my page.
thanks
-
Re: Wordpress On Zencart / Released
Hi,
It might be this.. Search for tpl_wordpress_default.php. There is a 100% width table, it may be breaking your design..
Thanks,
Steve

Re: Wordpress On Zencart / Released
latest post box give me this error:
Fatal error: Call to undefined function: get_settings() in /web/htdocs/www.100asa.it/home/includes/templates/template_default/sideboxes/tpl_wp_latest_posts.php on line 23

Re: Wordpress On Zencart / Released
The instruction is not more clear: the install of whole wordpress file is on the root of zencart, not in a subdirectory called wordpress.
question: I'm Italian, and I've installed wordpress ita
how can I solve this
//mb_language("Japanese");
//mb_internal_encoding("EUC-JP");
to complete installation I've comment out

Yes, to up-load it to root of ZenCart, it was changed. (From ver1.2. )The wordpress directory is unnecessary.

I think that [mb_language] was included only in Japanese version (woz_jp.zip).

Re: Wordpress On Zencart / Released
is there a way to just call wordpress loop by putting some code to header (or to extraconfigures?!) and then use wordpress code on my zen pages? thanks
-
Re: Wordpress On Zencart / Released
I've already got Zen-Cart in the root, and Wordpress in it's own subfolder. Is it possible to use this contrib in this fashion, or should I re-set everything up?
-
Re: Wordpress On Zencart / Released
In the readme under installation, there is this:
Quote:
5.In [wp-include/template-loader.php] "exit;" , Please comment out.
(Besides a line of feed)
Reference [/SAMPLE/wp-include/template-loader.php&template-loader.php.org]
What exactly does this mean? I've opened up template-loader.php and the part that looks relevant is this:
Quote:
<?php
if ( defined('WP_USE_THEMES') && constant('WP_USE_THEMES') ) {
do_action('template_redirect');
if ( is_feed() ) {
include(ABSPATH . '/wp-feed.php');
exit;
} else if ( is_trackback() ) {
include(ABSPATH . '/wp-trackback.php');
exit;
This also seems applicable:
Quote:
} else {
// Process feeds and trackbacks even if not using themes.
if ( is_feed() ) {
include(ABSPATH . '/wp-feed.php');
exit;
} else if ( is_trackback() ) {
include(ABSPATH . '/wp-trackback.php');
exit;
}
}
What exactly do I do here?
Thankyou for your help! I really appreciate the effort you took with the creation of this mod.

Could someone explain? Thank you for the mod.

This was not clear to me initially but in rereading the installation instructions I found it quite easy.
Unzip the distribution file and go to the /woz_en/SAMPLE/wp-include folder and open the template-loader.php file. You will notice that all but the last two "exit;" functions have been commented out using two forward slashes ("//" without the quotes).
You can simply do a find & replace in your file finding all "exit;" and replace with "// exit;" replicating the sample file I reference above. You can also copy the file and overwrite the file that is in the wp-include folder in your WP installation.
I repeat: the final two exit; should be left alone. Do not comment them out.
I hope this helps.
Regards,
Greg

Re: Wordpress On Zencart / Released
I have successfully managed to install Wordpress and Zen cart into separate directories, so I put together a small HOWTO here: http://n0tablog.wordpress.com/howtos...t-integration/
Just keep in mind that it worked for me and may not work for you. Take it with a pinch of salt.
If you find something wrong with it - you got to let me know, Ok?
Enjoy!

Thank you for reply.
A reply becomes slow and is sorry.
The reason why I comment out [exit;] is that I display the right box, a footer of ZenCart.
feed is not displayed in ZenCart.
Therefore I do not comment out.

Thank you for an introduction.
In fact, woz of a former version installed ZenCart and WordPress in a different directory.
I became the same directory from update of November, but there is a method to define ABSPATH directly.
I will refer to it by all means.

Re: Wordpress On Zencart / Released
This is a really great contribution. Thank you!
I have two questions. I spent considerable time searching but I'm sure there must be an answer or perhaps someone could send a link to a solution that I may have overlooked.
Here goes. I had developed a ZC 1.3.7 and wp 2.0.5 locally (also has Ultimate SEO URL port of Chemo) Everything worked fine. I uploaded to production server. ZC works fine including SSL. WP Administration works fine after commenting out language file issue.
Here are the problems:
1. The wp-related sidebox links when clicked point to http://localhost/old_install_dir rather than new production directory. I currently have categories, pages, and archives side boxes published in left menu.
What file do I change this in? I have looked a number of times and the only files that reference localhost as a base are the dist-configure files which aren't used. I know I'm missing it somewhere.
2. When I click on any manufacturers in manufacturer sidebox I am taken to the main blog page rather than the mfgr page.
here is the site: h##p://www.trackhaus.com
I hope you can help. Many thanks!
-Greg
-
Re: Wordpress On Zencart / Released
Since my post I have discovered that the Ultimate SEO URLs are causing issues with the manufacturer sidebox. So please ignore that portion of my post (unless you know the solution :-). I will post that issue in its respective.
I still have a problem with the WP sidebox links. Any help on that one is much appreciated.

using latest wordpress and zen-cart 1.3.7.
Thanks in advance.

A good start for the troubleshooting would be to check if you can access your Wordpress directly, without any ZenCart involvement whatsoever. That's where I would start...

If it's integrated, i don't think that there's any way to do that, but if you mean do the sideboxes, etc. work, yes they do
-
Re: Wordpress On Zencart / Released
Whats this in the readme refer to.
Code:
----------------
Design adjustment
----------------
1.Please revise a header of a Wordpress theme, a footer, a sidebar, a style sheet.
(Please just upload a reference file if troublesome.)
Reference [/SAMPLE/wp-content/themes/]
2.Please add the following to a style sheet of ZenCart.
/* bigin */
.leftboxcontent ul li, .rightboxcontent ul li , .singleboxcontent ul li{
list-style-type: none;
margin:0px;
padding-left: 0px;
}
.leftboxcontent ul, .rightboxcontent ul , .singleboxcontent ul{
margin:0px;
padding-left:0px;
}
.leftboxcontent ul ul, .rightboxcontent ul ul, .singleboxcontent ul ul{
list-style-type: square;
margin:0px;
padding-left:5px;
}
/* end */
Am I supposed to add this the zens stylesheet.css ?
or style.css from wordpress?
Confused. I'm having a hardtime getting this thing to squeeze in between the two columns.
http://www.estore.haskellgraphics.com/?cat=1
-
Re: Wordpress On Zencart / Released
BTW I tried changing tpl_wordpress_default.php width to lower and it didn't affect anything.
Also changing style.css DID reduce width in a few things but the text still goes beyond right column and side box is way out there.
So I put it back to normal.
If anybody knows how I'd like to have my sidwboxes not show on blog page so it will fit right
or just a way to squeeze it well.
Thanks.

Re: Wordpress On Zencart / Released
Great Contrib! I was a bit confused by the readme, so I actually installed it twice, because I misread the directions the first time and had to do it again. However, my sideboxes are blank. I can successfully add them, but there is nothing in them at all. Did I do something wrong?
-
Re: Wordpress On Zencart / Released
Nevermind, the wordpress_config.php file, I had changed the $woz_install=1; to $woz_install=0;
It works now!
-
Re: Wordpress On Zencart / Released
Next question...can you have a zencart sidebox with the most recent posts? I didn't see that as one of the sidebox options.
Thanks.

I don't have answer for this...yet. However, I have noticed that a number of wordpress blogs has this feature so I imagine its something you can set up in the wordpress admin settings? Or maybe its a matter of making a sidebox to display that information. @_@
And while I am at it, a quick question. I want to be able to display entries on the front page of my shopping cart. I used to use one of the news management modules that has been mentioned on the forums and for that I added a line to an overridden /template/tpl_index_default.php:
<?php include(DIR_WS_MODULES . zen_get_module_directory(FILENAME_NEWS_SUMMARY_MODULE));?>
However, since WOZ lacks a module file(?) I can't write similar code to do the same thing. I'm sure if I was better at php this wouldn't even be a real question.
Hopefully someone can offer me some insight. I'll keep probing around for a solution in the meanwhile. ^_^;
Hira-san, thank you again for this wonderful modification! This is exactly what I've been searching for. 本当にありがとう!助かりますぜ。

Re: Wordpress On Zencart / Released
kusogaki,
I would either like to put the latest posts in a sidebox or on the front page of the cart, like you want to. If you find a way, please do let me know. I have a quick, dumb question....Since the blog has an rss feed, could you embed an rss reader into the shopping cart's front page?
Thanks,
Cyfarian

Re: Wordpress On Zencart / Released
Ugh no, dice on the loading of wordpress on the main page. I really imagine this shouldn't be difficult...but I'm not making any ground here. :(
Cyfarian, since I've been stuck on the above situation I haven't looked into the recent posts modding yet. However, I do know that wordpress has a method called "The Loop" that basically adds that functionality. Why it's not an included feature...I don't know.
Information on that can be found here: http://codex.wordpress.org/The_Loop
I imagine you could whip up another sidebox (or just use an existing one as a template) and throw the looping code in there and it should do the trick. Once I solve the initial quandary I have, I will give that a go. :)
Chris
-
Re: Wordpress On Zencart / Released
Chris,
Thanks! I took a quick look at the loop code and it is too late in the day to get involved in that headache! But I will definitely look into it later and try to add it to a sidebox and let you know how I do. Thanks again for your help and good luck on your attemps.

Misty: Thank you so much for the help! Though to be honest I feel a bit silly since it seems the answer was there but I just didn't "see" it. Not to mention I never thought about adding php code via the define pages editor. Now I feel dumb. Hahaha.
Just have to upgrade my lack of knowledge in PHP I suppose? :P
Thank you again! :)

Re: Wordpress On Zencart / Released
Hello! I am very excited about this contribution. I got it installed and integrated and posted a first blog entry, but now I am having a problem.
I created a second category, and none of the posts in that category appear on the site. When I post a new blog entry to the second category, it does not appear on the main wordpress page or in the category itself. The new category appears on the sidebar and the number of posts next to the category name increase, but the category itself displays posts from the first category.
Here is the link to the : http://dichroicjewelry.net/glass/?ca...gory/earrings/
Any ideas?
thank you!

Re: Wordpress On Zencart / Released
i think this is the mod ive been looking for!
please help me.
i have already installed WP externally to my site, but on the same domain.
i have tried to use ez pages to create a link to it and have it come up within my site- where the main body should be.
so far i havent been able to do this.
it opens as a new window xternally.
i have selected for it to open within the site (as per ez pages) but it seems that the external link over rides that.
is it possible to please post the files that are needed to just achieve that?..(other than also installing WP a tthe same time)?
i hope that someone can help please.
Great Contribution..im using WP for our FAQ.
Looking forward to any help.

Re: Wordpress On Zencart / Released
skunkworx,
take a look at a HOWTO I posted here: http://n0tablog.wordpress.com/howtos...t-integration/
BTW, I am CERTAIN that it is mentioned earlier in this thread.:bangin:
Good luck!

Re: Wordpress On Zencart / Released
I'm sure I'm missing something very obvious here, but I can't seem to figure out how to find the index page of wordpress - does this exist? On a regular wordpress install there's an index page that displays all of the latest posts regardless of category, but on my Zen install I can only seem to bring up the various category pages through the sidebar. I'd like to be able to link to the blog itself from other sites, not just specific categories. Is there a way to do this?
Here's my site: http://dichroicjewelry.net/glass/

Sorry. :no: You will have to plead with Hira (author of the original contrib) - I am not going to fork the code, since I am NOT qualified to support it.

Re: Wordpress On Zencart / Released
Just a quick note referring to these instructions: http://n0tablog.wordpress.com/howtos...t-integration/
it says:
Quote:
"includes/extra-configures/wordpress.php supplied in the integration package seemed to contain a copy of the standard wordpress configuration files. The problem with having a copy is that when (not if) you change the originals you got to remember to change the copy as well."
This is not a problem in unix systems, just create a symbolic link from the original conf files to the place where a mirrored copy is needed. this way you'll only have one set of conf-files to worry about. ln -s /originaldir/originalfile.php /destdir/originalfile.php will do the job just fine.

pi-xi, you do have a point. It's my purist side that prefers to include the original the way I did.
The only other reason to do it the way I did is that there is a check for wordpress presence further down, and I am not sure how it will work out with a broken symbolic link.
This discussion probably belongs on the HOWTO page - closer to the actual document...

Re: Wordpress On Zencart / Released
Hi,
I'm no php whizz and am struggling with both the integration using Hira's guide and the NOT a Blog guide.
I thought I had done it all and then I found I can access the Zen-Cart admin but everything on the home page and WP-Admin page is now blank.
Any ideas?
I am trying to make Zen-Cart and WP work with the N.Design Studio theme as used on s-page.net.
Can anybody advise what it might be?
My url is:
http://www.freeinternetguides.com/
Does anyone have an install set of Zen-Cart 1.3.7/WP2.0.x (can't use 2.1) and the N.Design Studio theme that can be modified and used. Maybe that would be quicker for me as I'm stumped and want to get the site up and not spend time learning php.

Thanks.
I intend to offer a side box displaying the latest post as another module. (It is not prepared by default in the main body of WordPress)

Would it be displayed normally before adding a theme?
In addition, how is it when you try to return a theme? (In a WordPress management screen)

Don't get discouraged! Usually the blank screen (like the one I am seeing at your URL now) is a sign of a PHP error. Either you "REQUIRE" a file that is not there, or there is some minor syntactic mistake.
If you have access to your Web server error logs, they would have very helpful information. Apache would even specify the exact line number where the problem occurred (you are likely to see two error messages for each actual error - don't let it confuse you.)
I would let someone more experience advise on PHP debugging strategies...

Re: Wordpress On Zencart / Released
Well I have this installed in the root as one mass and into two directories but am stumped and can't spend any more time on it.
How much would it cost to have someone who knows what they are doing install the following:
Zen-Cart 1.3.7
WP2.0.x (can't use 2.1)
The N.Design Studio theme
Either PM me or send and email to [FONT=Courier New]david at robertshawassociates.com[/FONT] with a price if you KNOW what you are doing NOT if you THINK you know what you are doing. This is an easy job for someone who has done it and knows PHP so don't email me and quote mega-$$$$$$.

A hint )
In S-page,
I customized a template of ZenCart to display like [The N.Design Studio theme] in a header, a footer, a style sheet.
And I set it not to display the right column when somebody accesses weblog.

Re: Wordpress On Zencart / Released
Things are working out pretty good with the wordpress contrib. Again, thanks to hira and the other forum members for the helpful hints and tips! :)
I'm stuck on one thing however which...ultimately isn't a big deal if I can't remove, but it would be nice. Heh. Basically, I want to remove the line for comments as it isn't really necessary for my site. I've tried disabling comments in the WP admin but it doesn't really do anything. I've read up on the support forums for WP but I haven't quite been able to get the commenting removed. Any thoughts on this?
Also, I don't know if anyone is using it, but the archive feature for WP has been acting kind of odd. After I set it up the first time, it seems to work and display correctly the archived entries. A couple days later I come back to the site and see that the archive page is blank. What gives? :(
As always, if I find my own solution I will contribute it in here. Until then, more hints please. :)

Re: Wordpress On Zencart / Released
Oh, another thing I noticed recently is that with the wordpress posts appearing on the front page of my cart, there seems to be a significant lag when loading the entries and the right side of the page.
Everything will load fast until it gets to the middle and the latest post and then it lags for a few seconds before quickly loading the rest of the page. Does anyone else have this problem? It's not really a big deal mind you, but I'm curious if this is something that is to be expected or not.

Re: Wordpress On Zencart / Released
Wordpress is now installed on my server in the same directory as zen cart. However, I can't get the permalinks to work. I find this weird because my seourl on zencart is working really well. You guys have an idea of what is wrong with my setup? If someone is willing to help me I could also show you in the blog admin.

Re: Wordpress On Zencart / Released
I've elected to have the wordpress files located in its own folder: (/home/mysite/public_html/blog). After installation, upon turning on the wp_archives and wp_cats sideboxes, I noticed that only the title background is showing (pls. see attachment).
In step 6 of the document,
Quote:
6.Change a file name [includes/extra_configures/wp-config.txt] to [includes/extra_configures/wp-config.php]
I am assuming that wp-config.txt is really wordpress-config.php. If that is the correct assumption, I've also change the 2 lines in red so that "wp-settings.php" file can be found and the 'ABSPATH' is pointing to the correct path.
Code:
<?php
//
// wordpress on zencart by http://www.s-page.net/
//
$woz_install=0;
if (file_exists(DIR_FS_CATALOG . 'blog/' . 'wp-settings.php')) {
$woz_install=1;
define('WP_USE_THEMES', true);
$wp_did_header = true;
define('DB_NAME', DB_DATABASE); // The name of the database
define('DB_USER', DB_SERVER_USERNAME); // Your MySQL username
define('DB_PASSWORD', DB_SERVER_PASSWORD); // ...and password
define('DB_HOST', DB_SERVER); // 99% chance you won't need to change this value
// You can have multiple installations in one database if you give each a unique prefix
$table_prefix = DB_PREFIX . 'wp_'; // Only numbers, letters, and underscores please!
// Change this to localize WordPress. A corresponding MO file for the
// chosen language must be installed to wp-includes/languages.
// For example, install de.mo to wp-includes/languages and set WPLANG to 'de'
// to enable German language support.
define ('WPLANG', '');
/* That's all, stop editing! Happy blogging. */
//define('ABSPATH', './wordpress/');
define('ABSPATH', DIR_FS_CATALOG . 'blog/');
However, I am seeing the following error messages in the sideboxes:
Quote:
Warning: mysql_error(): 10 is not a valid MySQL-Link resource in /home/sensuous/public_html/blog/wp-includes/wp-db.php on line 177
Could someone be so kind to let me in on where I have stuffed up? Thanks very much.

Re: Wordpress On Zencart / Released
PM Received from Stenrique regarding his post above..
My response, which may help other members, is as follows:-
Do you have database link correctly configured in sideboxes i.e. archive side box..
Code:
$content = '<ul>'.zen_wp_get_archives('type=monthly').'</ul>';
Above is configuration from my own install which reflects database table for wordpress install as zen_wp
Tips...
WordPress install integrated into zencart slows down
cart performance considerably..
my install was wordpress mod release before current offering
..sideboxes..I reverted to rss sidebox/es instead..
see demo, leftside bottom box, at
http://www.mistily.com/zendemo/index.php

Re: Wordpress On Zencart / Released
I've gone through this thread at least 3 times and read the others about Wordpress -- at some point, I think I saw the answer to my problem but now I can't find it.
I have zen cart installed in a directory (catalog) -- my REAL live shop is in the root, but this is my test shop where I want to set up wordpress first. The wordpress files are installed in the "root" of the test shop (in the catalog directory). Isn't there a way to make this work?
It mostly works, I see the wordpress page with menu on the right, the sideboxes are showing up fine. Everything except no posts or pages ever show up. I click on a page and it just doesn't show -- all that I see is "Edit this post" at the top. Or sometimes it says "Not Found". I'm guessing this is because I'm in a directory?
Third day on this -- would really appreciate some help! I'd hate to have to install this in my live shop to test and set up.

WordPress Module Files are currently at
http://www.s-page.net/products/62.html
magicpants..which version have you installed i.e.
1.2 or 1.3? Makes BIG difference because version 1.2
would only install correctly into zencart using actual
domain..i.e your domain.com and not yourdomain.com/cart
