Cherry Zen Template Support Thread
Coming soon within the next few days... Cherry Zen. I guess I've got a fruit thing goin' on. I fell in lurve with that cherry image (don't they look tasty?), and the rest is history.
You can see it in action here:
http://www.cherryzen.sagefish.com
I'm in the final steps of preparing this for distribution. If you guys want to look through it in various browsers for bugs I missed, that would be greatly appreciated.
Here is a screen shot:
http://sagefish.com/images/cherryzen-lg.jpg
I'm also offering 7 color options total, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, and grey.
Some special features of this template (FROM MY README.TXT):
1. It is a "fluid" width site, meaning that its width changes as your customers' browser width changes. However, the main content portion is prevented from being *SMALLER* than 1000px wide, and is prevented from being *LARGER* than 1300px wide. For a narrower site, this can be adjusted in the stylesheet, and further instructions are included on doing so later in this file in the *TIPS* section.
2. Multiple colors for the top header bar, and for the sidebox headers have been included. These colors are red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple, and grey. These can be changed in includes/templates/cherry_zen/css/stylesheet.css. Instructions for doing so are found there. I've also included matching add to cart buttons. They are found in the includes/templates/cherry_zen/buttons/english/ folder. Simply rename the color you want to use to button_in_cart.gif.
3. Product images on the product information page have a border and drop shadow applied to them. This can be adjusted in the stylesheet, and the section for this is found at the very bottom of stylesheet.css. Some instructions for that section are included within the stylesheet.
4. It includes the "order steps" contribution, which gives a visual indicator for your customers so they understand exactly where they are in the ordering process, and exactly how many steps they have left before the order is complete.
5. It includes a new layout for the product information pages. The width of the image, tell a friend/reviews, and add to cart section is defined by your product image width. Please keep your product image width at 220 or less. If it is made wider than that, the layout will break. The width of the product information image can be adjusted in your admin, under "Configuration", "Images", "Product Info - Image Width". If you prefer the original zen cart layout for the product information page, simply do not upload includes/templates/cherry_zen/templates/tpl_product_info_display.php.
6. It includes the "Column Divider Lite" add on, which creates the dotted lines between products for the "New Products", "Featured Products", and "Specials" sections that can be shown on the home page, after the Product Listings, or after an empty shopping cart, etc. It also creates the dotted lines for the product listings when they are set to show in columns instead of rows. You can change it to columns in your admin, under "Configuration", "Product Listing", "Product Listing - Layout Style". The dotted lines will also show up for additional images, customers also purchased products, and on the cross sell products (if installed). This can be removed by simply deleting stylesheet_dotline.css from your server.
7. It includes transparent drop shadows all around the site. You'll notice that this will be not seen in IE browsers earlier than IE7. This is because IE6 and below do not support .png transparency.
Hope everyone enjoys it. I'll post here when I've uploaded the files.

Nice Template! :)
Where can you go to request a template? I mean there are some nice templates, but with so many people owning stores and some being work at home moms, I am sure they would love to have a free template made just for them. It could be a woman shopping or a boutique type of template. I have searched for this and can't find any unless I want to pay $150 and I don't. lol
Anyway, can you give it some thought?
Thanks
Sandra

Why not download free template from downloads section here at zencart,
and then substitute header image with one that suits your particular store
i.e. boutique

Do you mean that you're looking for a specific "themed" template, that would work well for work at home moms with a boutique business, or do you mean, you'd like a free template made for each person?

Re: Cherry Zen Template Support Thread
I have download the Cherry Zen Template and uploaded it into my site but it does not show up in the admin/ tool/ template selection thing. I put it in my public_html / sites / includes /.
Thanks

includes/templates/cherry_zen/
also, is includes/templates/cherry_zen/template_info.php

Hello,
I meant one that would work well with work at home moms that have a boutique business. I was just wondering, because I know several that would love to have a zen template like that. I have searched and can't find any like that. All the one's I do find cost TOO much, so I was wondering why no one has come up with such a template for free since there are so many Work At Home Moms now.
Thank You
Sandra :smile:

I think the hard thing about creating a template that works well with many work at home mom type businesses (boutiques, cloth diapers, toys, soaps etc.) is that in order to have to site stand out in a whimsical kind of way, it almost needs to be made tailored to each product type, know what I mean? Its also easier to create a generic type site that will work with many types of business vs. a specialized one that will only work with a few.
However, that said, next time i create a new template, I'll try to make something more "fun" and WAHM friendly. But that'll be a while... my husband and kids can only stand me spending so much time on the computer... :laugh::shocking:

no, you ONLY upload the includes/ folder. You DON'T upload the entire Cherry Zen 1.0 folder.
All the files that are in the includes/ folder, go into your already existing includes folder.
so they will be like this:
/ public_html / store / includes / templates / cherry_zen

So I don't upload the zip file into the includes and extract it?
Where do I stick the folder then? (be nice) :frusty:

No, you do not upload the zip file and extract it. Did you read the readme file?
Do you have an FTP program? What I would do is install an FTP program, and put the includes/ folder from my template up to the includes folder for the website. All of the files are in the correct structure, starting at the includes folder. So if you connect via FTP to public_html/store/, then you can just upload the includes folder, and all files will go to the right spot.

Re: Cherry Zen Template Support Thread
Hello jettrue,
Just like to say thanks for this template. I have a slight thing going on at the minute, which could possibly be me amalgamating from my previous template, though I haven't had this happen before.
Sometimes, when I click though a few item pages, the sidebox columns go off alignment. The left merges with the product info, and the right column sidebox stay in the right alignment, but disappear to the bottom of the site. I have been tearing my hair out. lol. Just wondered if it makes any sense to you or anybody?
thanks in advance,
Heathenmagic

If I try to validate your site, there are a ton of errors:
Validation Link
It looks like an issue with your featured and special products layout. There are errors there. It looks like you have a special mod in use for them? Turn them off to see if the issue goes away. If not, leave them off anyway, and let me know, and I'll see what else there is going on.
I've definitely never seen that happen on my test site, so its something going on with files that have been changed in the default template files.
It also looks like maybe you didn't upload includes/templates/cherry_zen/templates/tpl_main_product_image.php ?

Re: Cherry Zen Template Support Thread
Hello
I would like to ask if I can change the product description under product info. At the moment, it is under "Add to Cart". u-fashion.net/shop4
How can I change it under on the right hand side of product main image?
Also is it possible to use CSS drop Down menu in Cherry template?
One more question, why can't I install column_layout_grid.sql? When I sent, it has an error. Does it mean I do not need to install column_layout_grid?
Last question, can I use flash to instead the head image/logo?
Thank you.
Your template is fantastic.

Well, it can be done, however, the product details (model #, manufacturer, qty. in stock, and attributes) will show up there if they are on. So it can be done, but just wanted to let you know that something is already designed to go there.
To do this, you'll need to open up includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/tpl_product_info_display.php, and move the description section to below <!--eof Attributes Module -->

I don't see why not, just download that mod, and follow the instructions in the readme.txt.

There's no reason why not... you should search on the forum for "flash", as I never use it, so I can't help you there.

How can I delete the header? I tried to adjust includes/languages/english/cherry_zen/header.php
Unfortunately, it was not right.
Could you please tell me how I can change it? Thanks

Are you talking about this text:
Welcome to our online shop. We will be on ebay soon....
That is where that text should be. However, do a search for it in the "Tools", "Developers Tool Kit" and it will tell you exactly what file it is in.
ETA: I see you removed a lot of the <div>'s as you wanted a 100% width site, with no drop shadow. However, you forgot to remove this:
</td></tr></table></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div>
from the common/tpl_footer.php.

Thank you. However, I would like to change the top search bar and I would like to del it. Where can I remove it?
Also, I would like to have drop shadow but not a 100% width. Unfortunately, when I installed "CSS Horizontal Drop Down Menu", after installing, the website page has been changed to 100% width:(..I do not know why. How can I change back having drop shadow?
With drop shadow, it is much nicer.
Thank you again

Since you have an edited common/tpl_header.php, you need to follow the instructions in the readme.txt:
Quote:
3. If you have heavily modified your includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/common/tpl_header.php, instead of uploading the tpl_header.php included in this download, you can simply add this to your header where you'd like the css menu to appear:
<!--bof-drop down menu display-->
<?php require($template->get_template_dir('tpl_drop_menu.php',DIR_WS_TEMPLATE, $current_page_base,'common'). '/tpl_drop_menu.php');?>
<!--eof-drop down menu display-->
So, you'll need to reupload tpl_header.php, ignore my post above about removing all those closing <div>'s, and then paste the section of code above into tpl_header.php. I would paste it after this:
<!--eof-header ezpage links-->
Ok, do you want just the search function gone, or the whole top bar gone?

Thank you.

Re: Cherry Zen Template Support Thread
First I want to say this template is awesome!
My question is with the css flyout header. I saw in an earlier post that this would work but I can't seem to get it to. Just to be sure, I am talking about the one that is found in the apple_zen template.
Anyone else with problems?
The site I have it on is adult so if you click just be forewarned. No nudity, but still...
http://www.sleeplessnightsonline.com/shopping
Also, how do you make the shop a bit narrower? I can't seem to get it to work.

Ok, for the css flyout header.. where are you pasting this section of code:
Code:
<!--bof-drop down menu display-->
<?php require($template->get_template_dir('tpl_drop_menu.php',DIR_WS_TEMPL ATE, $current_page_base,'common'). '/tpl_drop_menu.php');?>
<!--eof-drop down menu display-->
Basically, you need to upload all the files EXCEPT includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/common/tpl_header.php
and paste the above code into your cherry_zen/common/tpl_header.php
You are using the css dropdown mod by itself, right? I'd imagine it'd be easy to miss a file if you are trying to pull the right files out of the apple zen template.

Me again!
I was looking at your site, and there seems to be a problem with this file:
includes/templates/cherry_zen/templates/tpl_product_info_display.php
from about line 53, it should look like this (replace from : <!--eof Main Product Image--> down to <!--eof Reviews button and count -->)
Code:
<!--eof Main Product Image-->
<div id="friendReview">
<!--bof Tell a Friend button -->
<?php
if ($flag_show_product_info_tell_a_friend == 1) { ?>
<div id="productTellFriendLink"><?php echo ($flag_show_product_info_tell_a_friend == 1 ? '<a href="' . zen_href_link(FILENAME_TELL_A_FRIEND, 'products_id=' . $_GET['products_id']) . '">' . zen_image_button(BUTTON_IMAGE_TELLAFRIEND, BUTTON_TELLAFRIEND_ALT) . '</a>' : ''); ?></div>
<?php
}
?>
<!--eof Tell a Friend button -->
<!--bof Reviews button and count-->
<?php
if ($flag_show_product_info_reviews == 1) {
// if more than 0 reviews, then show reviews button; otherwise, show the "write review" button
if ($reviews->fields['count'] > 0 ) { ?>
<div id="productReviewLink"><?php echo '<a href="' . zen_href_link(FILENAME_PRODUCT_REVIEWS, zen_get_all_get_params()) . '">' . zen_image_button(BUTTON_IMAGE_REVIEWS, BUTTON_REVIEWS_ALT) . '</a>'; ?><p class="reviewCount"><?php echo ($flag_show_product_info_reviews_count == 1 ? TEXT_CURRENT_REVIEWS . ' ' . $reviews->fields['count'] : ''); ?></p></div>
<?php } else { ?>
<div id="productReviewLink"><?php echo '<a href="' . zen_href_link(FILENAME_PRODUCT_REVIEWS_WRITE, zen_get_all_get_params(array())) . '">' . zen_image_button(BUTTON_IMAGE_WRITE_REVIEW, BUTTON_WRITE_REVIEW_ALT) . '</a>'; ?></div>
<?php
}
}
?></div>
<!--eof Reviews button and count -->
ETA: OH, and to adjust the width of your site, you need to adjust both:
Code:
#nw {
width:80%; /* main site width; if you'd prefer a fixed width site, enter the width in px here. */
max-width:1300px; /* prevents the main content from getting wider than 1300px in sites other than IE */
min-width:1000px; /* this prevents the main content from getting smaller than 1000px in browsers OTHER THAN IE. You can make this as small as 800px, BUT any smaller than that, and the top header menu will break into two lines. Also, if you make this width 800px, you will need to make sure your product image on the product info page is no wider than 190px */
}
/* IE only. Controls Width of Site and Main Content*/
* html #nw {
width:expression((d=document.compatMode=="CSS1Compat" ? document.documentElement : document.body) && (d.clientWidth > 1300? "1300px" : d.clientWidth > 1048? "80%" : d.clientWidth < 1048? "1000px" : "80%")); /* this prevents the site from getting smaller than 1000px or wider than 1300px in IE */
}
/* end IE only */

I know...I was trying to get the tell a friend and reviews button under my product information. I have the contribution that shows the reviews on the page instead of a link to them. I can't seem to get it working though.
I think I will let that go for now and work on the flyout header.
I actually downloaded a copy from the downloads section. I wouldn't even attempt to pull it from the apple zen. I would really botch that up! :blink: I think the mistake I made was I uploaded the common tpl header. I will try again with out doing that and just paste it where I want it.
Thanks for your reply. I will work on the header now.

That's probably doable... but it would be a fairly difficult adjustment. But I'm guessing this won't be the first time I'm asked that question, so I'll devote some time in the near future to figuring that out, then I'll add detailed instructions.
as far as your tell a friend/reviews issue, you should be able to cut and paste everything from
<div id="friendReview">
to
<!--eof Reviews button and count -->
I would paste it after:
<!--eof Additional Product Images -->

I'm not sure if I tried that yet. Where I have tried it breaks the template.
I try there and see.

Re: Cherry Zen Template Support Thread
Okay...that worked. I still can't have the reviews show or it really makes a mess of the template. I will post the code necessary for it to work. Maybe you can see why it won't. It's not that big of a deal. I am so pleased with the template that if I can't have that I'm not going to complain.

I Love It! :clap: Thank you once again!
Kelly
Since you don't have the review turned on (I found a product with a review), I can't tell for sure if it will fix the issue you saw, but I can tell that you need a :
<br class="clearBoth" />
Just before:
<!--eof Reviews button and count -->

Thanks. I fixed that. That would explain why it looked messed up in FF. I will try the other again. Maybe that had something to do with it.
Thanks,

Re: Cherry Zen Template Support Thread
:smile:Hello Jettrue,
Thanks for taking a look at my setup for me. I narrowed down what breaks the template on my setup.
When an item is out of stock, the sideboxes went astray. I removed the Request Restock (just been released) button, and the problem went away.
It also happens on the product listing pages. Only when a category description existed. When I took this off, the sideboxes returned to normal. I also have category description below and above items installed.
I thought I would let you know what I sussed out. It is a bit baffling, I thought maybe I could look at the css and maybe and play around with it. Would that help?
Thanks in advance,
Russ

Can I see your site with the request stock on (point me to a product). It could be a problem with the mod. This template (as any template with a lot of floats) will be very sensitive to any missing divs or extra divs or whatever. And of course, it could be due to me not turning on every option in zen to test all combinations.
As far as the category description issue, I'm not sure, as I have a category desc. on my site with no issues. But lets first figure out the Request Restock issue.

Re: Cherry Zen Template Support Thread
Hi jettrue, I'm customizing the template, and I can't figure out how I do to centralize a bar I inserted for footer. Any idea how?
To see what I mean, try my domain with /testing at the end.

Re: Cherry Zen Template Support Thread
ideasgirl,
I think that you have told it to align left with this
Code:
#navSuppWrapper {
width:100%;
margin:0 auto;
float:left;
}
Try dropping the float and using text-align: center;
-
Re: Cherry Zen Template Support Thread
I've tried that without success (before posting). I tried it again just in case I'm going insane.... and doesn't work (take a look). :cry:

Re: Cherry Zen Template Support Thread
Having a time with your css organization....
You must have moved in the code some things???
but try this and adjust for conformance as I could not find mainWrapper to get what you have set
Code:
#siteinfoLegal, .legalCopyright {
margin: auto;
width: 750px;
background-color: #4F3713;
font-size:10px;
text-align: center;
padding: 3px;
color: #D6A074;
}
#navSupp {
margin: auto;
width: 750px;
background-image: url('../images/footer.jpg');
background-repeat: no-repeat;
color: #606060;
font-size: 8px;
padding-top: 6px;
height: 30px;
}

Yes, I did... but remember that this is a liquid design.
-----edited to add----
Ok... thanks... this is what I did with your help:
Quote:
#navSupp {
background-image: url('../images/footer.jpg');
background-repeat: no-repeat;
margin: auto;
width: 780px;
color: #606060;
font-size: 8px;
padding-top: 6px;
height: 30px;
}

As I stated I could not locate your setting for this...
Make the width % as it is the margin auto that aligned this as centered

Re: Cherry Zen Template Support Thread
If I put % it will bring it to the left. :cry:

Re: Cherry Zen Template Support Thread

Only if you set this to 100% as your background image is a static 780px in width with no repeat that would be necessarty for fluidity. You can try making a tile for this and repeat-x it or try setting this to 78% and see what it looks like.

Re: Cherry Zen Template Support Thread
Hello Jettrue,
I have put the request restock. I tried putting everywhere, and it does the same. I have added wishlist, and social bookmarking, but they are ok. This is the code I have added:-
<!--bof Restock button-->
<?php
if ($products_quantity <= 0) { ?>
<?php echo '<a href="' . zen_href_link(FILENAME_REQUEST_RESTOCK, 'products_id=' . $_GET['products_id']) . '">' . zen_image_button(BUTTON_IMAGE_REQUEST_RESTOCK, BUTTON_REQUEST_RESTOCK_ALT) . BUTTON_REQUEST_RESTOCK_ALT . '</a>'; ?></div>
<?php
}
?>
<!--eof Restock button -->
Basically, I was using Future Zen template, and I have copied all the sidebox and template files over to cherry zen. So when I switch to Future Zen, the sidebox thing doesn't occur. I was careful in only copying the css files that were extra, and otherwise, didn't overwrite any of the Cherry Zen file. Only altered the file to use lightbox for image enlargements.

Heathenmagic :lookaroun

Yeah, the problem is the restock mod. See how it has a closing </div> but no starting div. Change that section to this:
<!--bof Restock button-->
<?php
if ($products_quantity <= 0) { ?>
<?php echo '<div id="requestRestock"><a href="' . zen_href_link(FILENAME_REQUEST_RESTOCK, 'products_id=' . $_GET['products_id']) . '">' . zen_image_button(BUTTON_IMAGE_REQUEST_RESTOCK, BUTTON_REQUEST_RESTOCK_ALT) . BUTTON_REQUEST_RESTOCK_ALT . '</a>'; ?></div>
<?php
}
?>
<!--eof Restock button -->
Then you can add this to your css to get it over to the left:
#requestRestock {float:left;}

If I may offer a few suggestions for your template.
Open up includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/templates/tpl_product_info_display.php and add a
<br class="clearBoth" />
right before:
<?php echo $options_attributes_image[$i]; ?>
Then in "configuration", "Images" change the additional images per row to 2.
Then in your css, change:
.attribImg {
width:20%;
margin:0.3em 0;
}
to
.attribImg {
width:48%;
margin:0.3em 0;
}
Also, in Firefox, a lot of your product descriptions are HUMONGOUS. Just wanted to let you know in case it looks different in your browser. If you meant for them to be that big sorry, LOL. But the #productDescription will need more padding and bigger line-height if so.
The product listing page issue is my fault, LOL, an error with my mod. I swore I had uploaded the fix, but I guess not!
open up includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/templates/tpl_index_product_list.php and change:
Code:
echo '<a id="descSubLink" href="' . zen_href_link(FILENAME_DEFAULT, 'cPath=' . $cPath) . '#descSub" >' . CATEGORIES_SUB_TEXT . '</a>';
to this:
Code:
echo '<a id="descSubLink" href="' . zen_href_link(FILENAME_DEFAULT, 'cPath=' . $cPath) . '#descSub" >' . CATEGORIES_SUB_TEXT . '</a></div>';
Do the exact same thing in includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/templates/tpl_index_index_categories.php

Sorry, I made an error in the above code.
Just replace that whole chunk, from <?php // categories_description
to
<?php } // categories_description ?> with this (in both files):
Code:
<?php
// categories_description
if ($current_categories_description != '') {
?>
<div id="indexProductListCatDescription" class="content"><?php echo $current_categories_description . '</div>';
}
if ($current_categories_description_sub != '') {
echo '<a id="descSubLink" href="' . zen_href_link(FILENAME_DEFAULT, 'cPath=' . $cPath) . '#descSub" >' . CATEGORIES_SUB_TEXT . '</a>';
?>
<?php } // categories_description ?>

Re: Cherry Zen Template Support Thread
Hello, I installed the template, but cross sell don't work, though all the cross sells were properly installed. It was working fine with my previous template.
Also when I clicked the sub-categories listing, the product descriptions appeared twice, that is same writings showing in dupilicates.
Please help, I am not a programmer. thanks,

Me again! I was just checking some categories,and I noticed that the sidebox thing happens on categories with multiple subcategories with pictures. Do I pop a <div/> around those parts in that file?

That's because you have to insert the xsell code into your tpl_product_display.php file.

Yes, in my instruction post above, at the end I instructed to do the same thing in another file, but I can see that at the bottom it could easily be missed. You must make the adjustment in both these files:
includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/templates/tpl_index_product_list.php
includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/templates/tpl_index_index_categories.php

As far as the cross sell goes, as ideasgirl stated, you'll have to add the cross sell code back into includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/templates/tpl_product_info_display.php
As for the double description... can you link me to a page that is doing this?

Hi,
I was a user of simple_zen and now this new wonderful template. Thanks!
Im looking to decrease the size of the middle column and expand the left and right columns a little bit. How would I do that? I played around the .css but no success.
Thanks.

Re: Cherry Zen Template Support Thread
On the cross sell mod, look at the readme, it should give you the code to paste in to that file. Or if there is an example file, merge that with yours.:smile:

It'll be a little complicated, but doable. You'll need to also increase the grey sidebox image as well to the width you want. You'll have to open the file in an image editing program, then re-size it and save it.
First you'll need to change the width of the sideboxes in the admin, under "Configuration", "Layout Settings". Make sure to change both sideboxes in both places.
Then in the css, this section contains the changes you'll need to make:
Code:
.outer {
padding-left: 165px; /* Same width as margin-left for the float-wrap div */
padding-right: 150px; /* Our right column width */
}
.inner {
width: 100%;
}
.float-wrap {
float: left;
width: 97%;
margin-left: -165px; /* Same length as .outer padding-left but with negative value */
}
#content {
float: right;
margin-right: -165px; /* Same length as .outer padding-left but with negative value */
width: 100%;
line-height:1.6;
position: relative; /* IE needs this */
}
.contentWrap{
padding: 5px 0 5px 5px;
}
#navColumnOne {
float: left;
position: relative; /* IE needs this */
}
#navColumnTwo {
float: right;
margin-right: -150px; /* This negative margin-right value is in this example the same as the right column width. */
position: relative; /* IE needs this */
}
You'll change the 150px to the width of your sideboxes. Let's say you choose 170px, then you'll need to also increase all of the 165px by 20px, to 185px.
I *believe* that's all you'll need to do, let me know how it works out.

Yes, the code you need to paste is in your Cross Sell readme.txt.
If it were me, I would paste it after:
<!--eof also purchased products module-->
But you can put it where you'd like. The includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/templates/tpl_product_info_display.php is a nicely sectioned off file, so its easy to see where things begin and end.

Re: Cherry Zen Template Support Thread
hi, I'm kinda new to this and everything ( I just installed zen-cart today!) So anyway, I saw this template and I thought it might be easy to install. So I uploaded the includes folder to my webserver to overwrite the old includes folder, then I tried to install the SQL code that the readme said you had to install in order for the template to work, but when I click send I get this error:
1062 Duplicate entry 'PRODUCT_LISTING_LAYOUT_STYLE' for key 'unq_config_key_zen'
in:
[INSERT INTO configuration (configuration_title, configuration_key, configuration_value, configuration_description, configuration_group_id, sort_order, last_modified, date_added, use_function, set_function) VALUES ('Product Listing - Layout Style', 'PRODUCT_LISTING_LAYOUT_STYLE', 'rows', 'Select the layout style:
Each product can be listed in its own row (rows option) or products can be listed in multiple columns per row (columns option)', '8', '40', NULL, now(), NULL, 'zen_cfg_select_option(array("rows", "columns"),');]
If you were entering information, press the BACK button in your browser and re-check the information you had entered to be sure you left no blank fields.
So now I'm stuck. Is there anything I'm not doing right? This is my very first time trying to install a template in zen-cart

Jettrue,
Thank you very much for your fruity templates. :clap::clap:
Perhaps you can help me with repositioning the comodo seal from the outer right side of the browser to the right side of the 2nd sidebox column. (see the red arrow in the attached image). I would like it to be in sync with the right side if the user changes the size of the browser window. I have tried this with padding-right % :no::frusty::no:
Thanks,

If it says duplicate listing, perhaps you already installed the column grid layout mod? If you go to "Configuration" "Product Listing", do you see this option:
Product Listing - Layout Style

You can use whichever you prefer, but in the template I made the columns style have some flair with dotted dividers between them. If you choose columns, the dividers will show up.

Just skip the SQL patch step. All the SQL patch does is install the column layout grid mod which you already have. So just keep following the rest of the installation steps. :smile: The SQL patch does not install the template. Have you uploaded all the files?

Re: Cherry Zen Template Support Thread
oh ok then :)
[EDIT]

Cherry Zen Update v 1.1
I've updated the template to version 1.1, and below I will list the changes. I'm going to *try* to be diligent with this template, and post all changes so that you can keep your template updated without having to rewrite entire files.
The changes in version 1.1 include adding includes/templates/cherry_zen/templates/tpl_modules_attributes.php
This just adds a clear after the attribute dropdown options, so that if you show attribute images they will start below the dropdowns instead of on the side of them. Simply upload this file to the correct location.
There are various small nit picky changes to stylesheet.css as well, and I'll list each change below:
Change:
Code:
.wrapperAttribsOptions {
line-height:2em;
width:200px;
float:left;
}
to:
Code:
.wrapperAttribsOptions {
line-height:2em;
width:auto;
float:left;
}
Add this directly below:
Code:
.wrapperAttribsOptions h4 {
padding-right:15px;
}
Change:
Code:
.sideBoxContent {
font-size:1.1em;
padding:5px 0;
}
to:
Code:
.sideBoxContent {
font-size:1.1em;
padding:0;
}
Change:
Code:
.sideBoxContent li {
padding:.2em 0;
}
to:
Code:
.sideBoxContent li {
padding:0;
}
Change:
Code:
#categoriesContent {
text-align:left;
padding-left:15px;
}
to:
Code:
#categoriesContent, #documentcategoriesContent {
text-align:left;
padding-left:10px;
}
That's IT! As I said, this is a very minor update, and only address some cosmetic issues. :smile: You can skip it if you like, LOL!

I am using your Cherry zen on one of my sites and I love it. But I want to know how, if it's possible, to use the drop shadow on the product info images on my other site. I don't want to install the whole template as I'm pretty happy with the site the way it is. I want to add it to the Kelly's Country Corner site. I use a tan background image and I think the illusion that the images are actual bordered photos would look really nice. Is there any way to do that without the whole template? Nothing against the template...you know I love it! :smile:
Thanks,
Kelly

Re: Cherry Zen Template Support Thread
Hi,
I uploaded the zen template.
Now I am wondering how to get rid of the categories listed at the top of the page.
I mean when I list a category in the menu it also shows up on the top of the page and I don't want that.
Ex. http://www.the-unique-boutique.com I stopped working on it because I want the category at the top removed before I get too involved.
Thanks for any help

So this only occurs in the Cherry Zen Template? I can reproduce this error on my site. Have you made any modifications to includes/modules/cherry_zen/product_listing.php?
No, I did not make any modification to the product_listing.php nor do I know how to do it. I am not a programmer.
thanks,

Sure, all you'd have to do is upload includes/templates/cherry_zen/tpl_modules_main_product_image.php (to your template folder of course)
Then add this to your css:
Code:
#productMainImage{
float:left;
background: url("../images/shadowAlpha.png") no-repeat bottom right !important;
background: url("../images/shadow.gif") no-repeat bottom right;
margin: 10px 0 0 10px !important;
margin: 10px 0 0 5px;
}
#productMainImage img{
display: block;
position: relative;
background: #ffffff;
margin: -3px 6px 6px -3px;
border: 1px solid #a9a9a9; /* defines the border for the product image. To remove the border delete or comment out this line, AND padding: 4px; below */
padding: 4px;
}
I think that will take care of it!

That's not part of the template per se, you can just go to your admin and turn off "Categories-Tabs Menu" under "configuration", "Layout settings"

No only on this template. Other templates works fine.

Is the short description turned on? Does turning it off change anything (just grasping at straws here). Have you tried re-uploading includes/modules/cherry_zen/product_listing.php?

Re: Cherry Zen Template Support Thread
Hi Jettrue,
I really like this template! I love how you can change the color! The only thing that I would like to change is the add to cart button. As you can see I changed from the red to the purple and the add to cart is still red. Is there any way to change the color? My site is here Thanks once again for this template.:clap:

From the readme:
Code:
I've also included matching add to cart buttons. They are found in the includes/templates/cherry_zen/buttons/english/ folder. Simply rename the color you want to use to button_in_cart.gif.
Just change the button_in_cart_purple.gif to button_in_cart.gif, and re-upload.
Would you like a brighter purple for your sideboxes?

Re: Cherry Zen Template Support Thread
Yes, please. I was trying to get as close as I could to the purple of the sideboxes. Thank you I will change the cart buttons. :D

Oops! I forgot to include a file. It is includes/languages/english/extra_definitions/cherry_zen/order_steps_defines.php
If you want to create the file, here is what belongs in it:
Code:
<?php
define('ORDER_STEPS_IMAGE', 'arrow_checkout.gif');
define('ORDER_STEPS_IMAGE_HEIGHT', '24');
define('ORDER_STEPS_IMAGE_WIDTH', '24');
define('ORDER_STEPS_IMAGE_ALT', 'Checkout Arrow');
define('TEXT_ORDER_STEPS_1', 'Shipping Method');
define('TEXT_ORDER_STEPS_2', 'Payment Method');
define('TEXT_ORDER_STEPS_3', 'Review Order');
define('TEXT_ORDER_STEPS_4', 'Order Complete');
define('ORDER_REVIEW', '<h4 class="confirm">PLEASE REVIEW & CONFIRM YOUR ORDER!!</h4>');
?>
I'll update the download as well.

Re: Cherry Zen Template Support Thread
Love this template!
Just a few questions regarding my site
http://www.miss-crow.com/shop:
1. I have successfully removed the sales_text_header message that was across the top of the page. Now the text size is pretty big. What did I do? How do I fix it? (CSS?)
2. Can I get rid of the white bar to the left of my header image?
3. Why don't the hotspot links in my header image work?
Thanks for all of your help!
