Re: Mystic River Template Support Thread
Hi
first off I'd like to say that this template is the BOMB! Thanks for creating it! Now I have a question...
On your template on the Mystic Mountain Site on the left hand side under the Products with each catagory it starts or leads with a little green arrow and shaded with a light gray, how can I get mine to do this? Please take a look at my demo site to see what I mean:
http://syrshosting.com/demo/index.php
Yours has the correct effect that I'm wanting on my site... how can I achive this?
Thanks again for the fantastic template and for any help that you may be able to provide!

Gorgeous template! I'll probably have questions too as I start trying to customize it. :cool:
-
Re: Mystic River Template Support Thread
See, I told you I'd have questions:
I got my "Welcome to MamaSylvia's Stuff" banner added, but the type is tiny. What file do I need to edit and what do I need to change to make it larger?

open includes/templates/mystic/css/stylesheet.css
find
#tagline {
color:#000000;
font-size: 1em;
text-align : center;
vertical-align: middle;
}
change the font size to whatever size you need.

Re: Mystic River Template Support Thread
That worked but left me with another problem. But I think I'm going about this backwards. First, how can I point the various editable pages (main page, page 2, etc.) to the classic template files? That way, I can leave this template live and show other small things I'd like to fix. (Besides, it's so purty.) :cool:

copy any files you've edited in the "classic" folder(s) to the same "mystic" folder(s)
if you want to move define_main_page.php
open includes/languages/english/html_includes/classic
copy define_main_page.php
and paste the file into
includes/languages/english/html_includes/mystic
save and upload to your server.

Re: Mystic River Template Support Thread
I am using Clyde's Mystic River Template, however my logo is 850px by 100px and is a jpg. I've gone to includes/languages/english/mystic/header.php and on Line #24 : define('HEADER_LOGO_IMAGE', 'logo.gif'); changed logo.gif to logo.jpg which is the name of my logo.
Then further down, I've change the dimensions of the logo to 850px and 100px. When I view the pages, the logo is off to the left and the rest of the page is in the middle of the screen.
I think it is in the stylesheet that I need to fix this. What should I put to correct the layout?
Thanks, Clyde for a great template.

Do you know when this template will be added to the Zen-Cart demonstration site as I would like to see it. I searched for a thumbnail image in the image folder but didnt' find one. Your test site is based on Comstock, correct?

Unzip the Package and upload the includes folder to your server.
Go to admin -> tools -> template selection click the edit button, choose the template from the dropdown menu and click update.
Go to admin -> tools -> layout boxes controller Scroll down to the bottom of the screen and click the reset button.

Re: Mystic River Template Support Thread
Ok, thats what the read me file said, and as far as i know that is what i have done! I may have uploaded the includes file to the wrong place? any possibility of giving me details of exactly where it should go? where you have the default and classic files, is it inplace of classic or inside?
Sorry I know this is very basic, the more i try to find the answer the more confussed I am getting. I am worried that i may have got past the point of being able to fix and may have to reinstal (reluctant to do so as spent whole weekend setting things up)
hope someone can help

Re: Mystic River Template Support Thread
How do I get the attribute drop down to be higher on the product page, or above the add to cart button? Here is the URL...
http://nitrate.com/store/index.php?m...products_id=55
I think that with Windows Internet Explorer, it seems to be even lower on the page than with a Mac and Firefox or Safari. It varies with IE6 vs IE7 too. I would like to have the dropdown be first and then the add to cart button below that if possible.
Using zen-cart 1.3.8 and the mystic template.

You'll need to modify/edit
includes/templates/template_default/template/tpl_product_info_display.php
find the section marked:
<!--bof Attributes Module -->
<!--eof Attributes Module -->
move this entire section to above the section
beginning with
<!--bof Add to Cart Box -->
once the edits are done save the file to:
includes/templates/mystic/templates/tpl_product_info_display.php
and upload the changed file to your server.

open includes/templates/mystic/common/tpl_header.php
find the following section of code and delete the highlighted portion.
<div id="navMainSearch"><a href="<?php echo zen_href_link(FILENAME_ABOUT_US, '', 'NONSSL'); ?>"><?php echo BOX_INFORMATION_ABOUT_US; ?></a><a href="<?php echo zen_href_link(FILENAME_SITE_MAP, '', 'NONSSL'); ?>"><?php echo BOX_INFORMATION_SITE_MAP; ?></a><?php require(DIR_WS_MODULES . 'sideboxes/search_header.php'); ?></div>
save the file and upload to your server.

Hi, I've been working with this great template for a while now and got around it pretty well, but there's one thing that I just cannot seem to be able to do with it :dontgetit
I'm trying to make it 100% width so that the header, the footer and the containers of the sideboxes reach the sides of the browser, but I just can't seem to find where to make the modifications :frusty:
I tought "100% fluid" meant it would be easy :blush:
Thanx for the help and keep on the good work :wink:

open includes/templates/mystic/css/stylesheet.css
Find the following declaration and change the highlighted portion as indicated
#mainWrapper {
margin:0;

color:#000;
text-align:left;
width:100%;
vertical-align:top;
}

Re: Mystic River Template Support Thread
Many thanx !
I've got a last one for you : I would like to have the footer (where the credits are) to be flush at the bottom of the browser without any background visible.
I'm sure you know that one by heart :wink:
Thanx, it's appreciated,
-Steph.

Since the side columns and the center column are dynamic they will only expand to hold the content that is in them.
If you only have enough content to fill just half that area then the footer will display at the bottom of that content and will leave the background visible.
If you do a search for footer in the forum (there may be some threads that might help you out.)

For the first Part:
That is a customized define_main_page.php file which is found in
includes/languages/english/html_includes/mystic/define_main_page.php
The boxes are div statements that are styled in a custom page stylesheet.
The images were created in a graphics program.
As for the second part.
I'll have to check the stylesheet.css and see where the problem may be.

This may sound more complicated than it really is.
The sideboxes are set at 150px wide - inside that width you have to include the right and left padding. (padding:5px 0 8px 8px;)
You have 8px of padding on the left side of the box and 0 on the right.
What happens is that whatever is placed in the box will be pushed to the left by that 8px amount.
in addition the image in the sponsor box is 150px wide (the width of the sidebox without padding. So with the padding added the image is being pushed out of the box by that 8px amount.
You could try reducing the padding (this will affect ALL of the sideboxes) or you could try to resize the image to around 140px.
Or the simplest option:
open includes/templates/mystic/css/stylesheet.css
scroll all the way to the bottom and add the following declaration:
#bannerboxallContent, #reviewsContent {
padding:5px 0 8px 0;
}
after making the edit save the file and upload to your server.

Since you didn't provide a URL for your site, I'll guess that you need to open includes/templates/mystic/css/stylesheet.css
find the following section and set the margin declaration to 0 (delete the highlighted portion
body {
margin:5px 0;
padding:0;
background:#F8CCED;
color:#000;
font:normal 62.5%/1.3em Verdana, Geneva, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
}
save the edited file and upload to your server.

Re: Mystic River Template Support Thread
LOVE the template, Clyde and so far have managed to figure out how to do all the customizing I needed to do with one exception and the guy failed to post his solution.
I'm wondering if you have figured out how to center the logo once the "About Us and the Site Map" has been removed from the top.
I also discovered a bug in the template and it doesn't happen all the time. In IE8 and Firefox/3.0.11 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729), the entire site SLIPS down about half the monitor. Can't reproduce it in Opera or Safari.
I've uploaded screenshots of both IE8 and Firefox cause it doesn't happen all the time and the one from Opera shows what it shoulld look like all the time as of RIGHT this min. (Still working on the details).
Site is a test site but have my own VPS so I can put it online. You can see it here: http://www.gblcreations.com/zctest/
I am working on it to replace some things and upgrade other things on my live site. And I would rather break a test site than a live working site.
I hope you can help.
Liz

Re: Mystic River Template Support Thread
Well, I solved the problem of the centering by just making it a fixed width. Still prefer the other but only if you can solve the issue for me.
The glitch is still making me nuts cause it happens at the oddest times.
I have one other query. How do I get the categories or designers on my site to line back up in two columns like I have them on my live site. To see what I mean, go to www.gblcreations.com/store and look at the main page. You will see the list of categories under the Designer Call Banner (yes, I know it's not on my test site but I don't need it on my test site) They are in two columns. On the test site the categories are in one on the left.
And if you click on the Designers, on my live site, it goes to two columns. Test site, one column, left side.
My co-owner LOVES this template.

The glitch is because you are using IH2 and you'll need to make sure you have uploaded the following IH2 files/folders to
includes/templates/mystic/jscript/
includes/templates/mystic/popup_image_additional
second issue
admin -> configuration -> maximum valaues -> Categories To List Per Row (set this to 2)
-
Re: Mystic River Template Support Thread
Thank you for your reply. As frustrating as IH2 can be, not using it is worse. So I'll deal with it and fix the problem. Thanks for finding the glitch.
I just wish people would post their fixes instead of leaving people hanging.
If you ever find out how to center the header, would you post it? Liz
-
Re: Mystic River Template Support Thread
Okay, the column was already set to 2. Something is getting in the way. Liz

There are several posts/threads about that jumping issue (most of them in the IH support thread and a few others scattered throught the forum)
This is what you have in your stylesheet.css
#logoWrapper{
margin: 0;
padding: 0;
background: url(../images/header_bg.jpg) repeat-x;
height:420px;
width:100%;
}
Try this notice I've taken out the repeat-x
#logoWrapper{
margin: 0 auto;
padding: 0;
background: url(../images/header_bg.jpg);
height:420px;
width:100%;
}
-
Re: Mystic River Template Support Thread
Code:
/*wrappers - page or section containers*/
#mainWrapper {
margin:0 auto;
background:#AD88AD;
color:#000;
text-align:left;
width:920px;
vertical-align:top;
}
#headerWrapper{
margin:0 0 5px;
padding:0;
}
#logoWrapper{
margin: 0 auto;
padding: 0;
background: url(../images/header_bg.jpg);
height:420px;
width:100%;
}
If I go back and replace the 920px with what you had originally of 90%, my logo is off to the left and not to the center. I love the fact that this one was fluid and not fixed but I wanted to center this.
I KNOW how to center logos, I do it all the danged time on vb themes but zen cart has me buffalo'ed!
Somewhere I should be able to tell it to align="center" but I can't figure out where. I've even tried float: center and that didn't work.

Re: Mystic River Template Support Thread
Still not working.
I had to make two changes to the above code but it should not have made a difference.
One was the color of the background
background:#F8CCED; to background:#AD88AD;
The other was the HEIGHT of the header. Mine is 420 px not 70.

I suspect your monitor settings have a lot to do with that.
Here is what I am seeing with a monitor resolution of 1440 x 900.

How 'bout increasing the overall width of the image to 1307 x 400
instead of 920 x 400
-
Re: Mystic River Template Support Thread
Because unlike me, there are still about 35-40% of the computers out there using a monitor set at 1024 x 768 or lower. And I don't want to annoy that many people.
Yes, I know I really should code down to 800 but there are less than 5% using that size.
http://www.w3schools.com/browsers/browsers_display.asp
So I make my logo below the 1024px. I can make it wider than 920, I can go to almost 1024 and sstill be within the browser resolution of 95% of most browsers.

Have you tried setting a max-width and/or min-width on the #logoWrapper
-
Re: Mystic River Template Support Thread
Yeah, tried that too. Increasing the size of the logo helped quite a bit.
And I found out what happened to the guy who said he fixed his earlier in this thread...he did a fixed width! I found his web site and read his css. That was his solution.
I KNOW there is a way. Probably something along the same lines as I have to do with the vb theme headers and that code looks like this (posted from my visible css)
Code:
<!-- logo -->
<a name="top"></a>
<table border="0" width="902" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" align="center">
<tr>
<td align="left"><a href="index.php"><img src="images/Bluebells&Daffodils/misc/GraphicsByLiz_Bluebells&DaffodilsHeader.jpg
" border="0" alt="GBLCreations Forums" /></a></td>
<td align="right" id="header_right_cell">
</td>
</tr>
</table>
<!-- /logo -->
It's in a table all it's own, and the part that controls the images/Bluebells&Daffodils/misc/GraphicsByLiz_Bluebells&DaffodilsHeader.jpg is the align="center".
I've used a trick that also used the align="left" and the align="right" with the align="center.
And I write it to a css file. Like I said, vb is easy compared to Zen Cart.

I'm running out of things to try:
How about adding the following to the #mainWrapper
width:92%;
max-width:920px;
min-width:920px;
-
Re: Mystic River Template Support Thread
Okay, that does the same thing as a fixed width of my 1000px (my new logo size (changed the 920 to 1000).
Somewhere there is an answer. And one of us will find it.

sorry, I can't read the error messages.

Re: Mystic River Template Support Thread
Can I email them to you? If so please PM me. Liz
-
Re: Mystic River Template Support Thread
I figured out how to get them to you without emailing and without posting the images as IMG files, they are huge.
I made a web page and plopped it on my server.

I'll leave it up til you reply that you have read it. Liz

Re: Mystic River Template Support Thread
Okay, what I did for now was delete ALL the files I had, my old theme which was probably mucking up things and your template files and am running a clean copy of the original template.
I think we will start from there but I still need to know what files I need to put in the checkout section to handle the ssl module. Liz

You shouldn't need to edit any files (except maybe the two configure files.
for downloads try this article www.zen-cart.com/tutorials/index.php?article=71

Re: Mystic River Template Support Thread
Okay, Clyde. I'll let you know when I get it fixed and working again. Right now it's so broke it's not funny. Liz

Re: Mystic River Template Support Thread
Clyde, prior to adding your template, my downloads have been working fine for 6 months. I put in your template and wham, it's broke. That's why I came back to this thread. Liz

There are no files in the template that would affect how the downloads work.

These are the section(s) of the configure files you need to look at concerning the SSL
includes/configure.php
define('HTTP_SERVER', 'http://localhost');
define('HTTPS_SERVER', 'https://localhost');
// Use secure webserver for checkout procedure?
define('ENABLE_SSL', 'false');
// NOTE: be sure to leave the trailing '/' at the end of these lines if you make changes!
// * DIR_WS_* = Webserver directories (virtual/URL)
// these paths are relative to top of your webspace ... (ie: under the public_html or httpdocs folder)
define('DIR_WS_CATALOG', '/');
define('DIR_WS_HTTPS_CATALOG', '/');
admin/includes/configure.php
define('HTTP_SERVER', 'http://localhost');
define('HTTPS_SERVER', 'https://localhost');
define('HTTP_CATALOG_SERVER', 'http://localhost');
define('HTTPS_CATALOG_SERVER', 'https://localhost');
// secure webserver for catalog module and/or admin areas?
define('ENABLE_SSL_CATALOG', 'false');
define('ENABLE_SSL_ADMIN', 'false');
-
Re: Mystic River Template Support Thread
Okay, that's why it broke it...mine weren't pointing to the right folder in that file any longer. They were still pointing to the master template file. When we moved it away from the master template file, all heck broke loose. Liz

Re: Mystic River Template Support Thread
An upgraded version of Mystic River Template compatible with ZC v1.3.9 should be available in the downloads section shortly.

Re: Mystic River Template Support Thread
Hi Clyde,
I am glad I found your thread - your template looks great and I can't wait to get it running on my site. I had a few questions to ask you about the newest version of your template that I am having problems with...
First off, I am having a problem with the right sideboxes and the browser bar title on my product listings. Every time I pull one up, all of my sideboxes disappear and my browser bar only displays the link to the product page (not the metatag information such as the name, price, ect.). As a though, I checked my settings in admin->catalog->product types and edited the layout of the product - general type and confirmed that my 5 Show Metatags Title Default are all set to 1 (on/true). My thoughts are that there is an override in effect but I cannot seem to find it. Do you have any suggestions on where I can go from there?
Secondly, I just noticed that I was having some problems with displaying text on my main page if the font is any bigger than 12pt font (size=3). Is there a setting somewhere that I can fix this?
I apologize for all the questions but I am excited to see your template in action. Thanks for all of the help!

Re: Mystic River Template Support Thread
I appologize. I was just in the process of moving our test site onto a seperate directory on our live site. You can access it at http://www.beryls.com/brian_2-0. The errors seem to be the worst on IE 8 but some of the formatting looks a little better in Firefox... not really sure what's causing that

I didn't notice anything out of the ordinary with the sideboxes.\
To fix the text problem, add the following to the stylesheet.css
#indexDefaultMainContent p {line-height:normal;}

http:// www. bargainsonlinesite. com
open includes/templates/mystic/css/ie_stylesheet.css

.centerColumn {
margin:0 5px;
padding:8px;
background: #FFF5F6;
border:1px solid #66006B;
text-align: left;
font-size: 1.2em;
height:1%;
position: relative; /*do not remove-fixes stupid IEbug*/

Add back the following to includes/templates/mystic/css/stylesheet.css
.centerColumn {
margin:0 auto;
padding:8px;
background: #FFF5F6;
border:1px solid #66006B;
text-align: left;
font-size: 1.2em;
height:1%;
position: relative; /*do not remove-fixes stupid IEbug*/
I didn't see anything unusual about the sideboxes
-
Re: Mystic River Template Support Thread
After I added more to the left side and both sides became even, it looks ok now. I'll watch it while adding content and see how it do.

look at the difference between IE and FF

Re: Mystic River Template Support Thread
Thanks Clyde,
it was a difference in foxfire, it didn't have a centerbox in foxfire. I added this back
.centerColumn {
margin:0 auto;
padding:8px;
background: #FFF5F6;
border:1px solid #66006B;
text-align: left;
font-size: 1.2em;
height:1%;
position: relative; /*do not remove-fixes stupid IEbug*/
everything seems to be working fine in both IE and FF now

Re: Mystic River Template Support Thread
I don't use this forum much and couldn't remember how to add a question to the thread so only thing I could do is hit "Reply". I hope that is appropriate.
Mystic River Template - Is there a way to keep the right hand column in place on the product pages?

open includes/templates/mystic/common/tpl_main_page.php
find and delete the following section of code
Code:
if (in_array($current_page_base,explode(",",'product_info')) ) {
$flag_disable_right = true;
}

Re: Mystic River Template Support Thread
Sorry I have another question.
I've narrowed my template a little and now the search button in the header is too narrow to show all the letters.
I did try and remove it completely by editing the css but all it did was move it to middle ?
I'd like to either remove the whole box or make it bigger. Using firebug is says its 45px wide but I can't see where to change it.
Thanks :)

You can turn it off from
admin -> tools -> layout boxes controller -> sideboxes/search_header.php

Re: Mystic River Template Support Thread
Hi clyde,
I hope you can help me with this because I have tried all the bug fixes. when I tried my site in bing and other search engines its not found, i've had my site more the 6 month. This is what I fine in the source code after my site description and key words. do it mean nofollow or noindex.
<meta http-equiv="imagetoolbar" content="no" />
<meta name="author" content="Bargainsonlinesite.com, TEMPLATE_DESIGN_TEXT, shopping cart program by Zen Cart™, http://www.zen-cart.com eCommerce" />
<meta name="generator" content="shopping cart program by Zen Cart™, http://www.zen-cart.com eCommerce" />
in the developer tool I found the TEMPLATE_DESIGN_TEXT located in /includes/templates/mystic/common/html_header.php

Re: Mystic River Template Support Thread
I have just installed this template and love it but the Search box isn't showing right. The word Search on the button is over to the right so you don't get the letter "h". How do I get it to move over slightly to the left so that its in the centre of the button?
It's also missing the "d" at the end of "keyword"
Thanks
