At the top of may admin/products page, I have this error in red at the top:
Error: Catalog images directory is not writeable: /home/cro49077/public_html/images/
Today is the first time this has showed up, can someone please explain to me what is wrong?
I am a total newbie with Zen and HTML I have only been learning for about 2 weeks now, so please be nice to me.
Wow! Thanks for the super speedy reply - but they are all set to 777. I have already uploaded over 280 products so far and have not had this msg show up at all before? Why would it now?

Oh.. Now something weird is going on with Filezilla... It just wont stay connected. Keeps on timing out? I know nothing about this stuff.. Should I try with a differnt FTP? Do you have a suggested one?
Try www.net2ftp.com but before that you would better be asking your host

What do you see when you browser through images directory through hyperlink? just like www.myshopurl.com/images

Is it only the admin where you see errors?
Yes. Only when I click on Catalog-Categories/Products.
Do one thing
Copy the following php code into test_chmod.php and run it and let us know the result
/home/cro49077/public_html/images/

Its not letting me do anything. It wont connect to the server through FTP - well it does - but not for long. It says this:
Status: Waiting to retry...
Status: Resolving IP-Address for ftp.crookedhalo.com.au
Status: Connecting to 116.0.23.205:21...
Status: Connection established, waiting for welcome message...
Error: Connection timed out
Error: Could not connect to server
And I am trying to look through my Cpanel, and it opens the /home/cro49077/public_html/images/
but it says "No records found"
I seriously have no clue...
I have sent an email off to my hosting provider. Hopefully they can get back to me soon. Thanks superprg for your help :smile:

Well I was just browsing through my admin a bit more and I cant define any pages or anything. It seems all my files - somehow have changed to read only. And my bloomin'host only works Mon-Fri 8.30-22.00 AEST! Not happy Jan...
2 days later and multiple emails to the supposed Urgent support form of my host - and still no reply.. Grrrr. Less than one week till my site launch and I have had 2 full days where I have not been able to change or add a single thing!
