I have also noticed this anomaly on earlier versions as well and consider it an error in calculation.
We offer a discount coupon code and when doing so the ZC calculates the discount percentage on the total including shipping as well as counting shipping towards the minimum order percentage. This should not be the case and should calculate minimum and also apply the discount to the subtotal before shipping.
That's a known issue for current Zen Cart releases, with changes 'staged' on GitHub for zc157 and a possible zc156d release.
If you're running a version of zc1.5.6, you can replace the contents of your store's /includes/modules/order_total/ot_shipping.php (after making a backup!) with the module's updated contents: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ze...t_shipping.php
That change will probably work for zc1.5.5 versions, too, but I haven't tested to verify.
Thanks, I will give the later files a try as time permits on a test site. It will be great if they work as intended with 1.56c.
