Do you have to ship all the goods on a order at the same time
If an order has say 3 lines (products) but I am only able to ship 2 lines how can I use the order status to reflect this. Is it possible to set up a order line status. If not how do other Zencarters deal with a situation where they are able to ship 2 out of the 3 lines in one shipment and the 3rd line is shipped later
Re: Do you have to ship all the goods on a order at the same time
You could create another 'order status' to reflect this situation - perhaps calling it 'Partially Shipped' or something similar - then manually move the order to that status when you've shipped the first part of the order.
See admin->localisation->Order Status
Re: Do you have to ship all the goods on a order at the same time
Thanks Pixxi
I had thought of doing that but it doesn't show what is still left to ship. I was thinking of creating seperate orders for what is outstanding but not sure about transferring Credit Card details. Ideally it would be best if there was a line status is that possible ??
Re: Do you have to ship all the goods on a order at the same time
Not ideal, but I just add a comment to the order about what is in backorder (in addition to the extra order status as pixxie suggested).
Re: Do you have to ship all the goods on a order at the same time
Thanks for that Paul
My problem is that I want to automatically "sweep up" all orders from Zen Cart every hour so, and process them in the warehouse as one big order. If I have enough stock I will alter the status to reflect it is being processed , but if there is no availability I need the status to remain pending so it keeps getting "swept up" until there is stock available. It seems that my only options are
a) Wait until the whole order is available and ship the whole order
b) Cancel what part of the order is not available
c) Automatically create another order in Zen Cart for what is outstanding - not sure if I can do this, and if I can how I get round Credit Card details
Any Ideas much appreciated
