creating a link to a file in EZ pages...
Hi,
I am using version v1.3.8a/v1.3.8 and I am trying to create a link to a file on an EZ page. How do I upload the file to the server and what HTML code do I use to create the link? I have the file in .doc, .zip and .pdf.
Many thanks for your help!

Also: is there a way of adding a function that requires there to be a password entered before users can access the file?
Re: creating a link to a file in EZ pages...
Do you have three different versions of the same file, or are the three files parts of one item? What exactly do you want to do? It sounds like you need a product (can be free) to hold the downloads. "Purchasing" this product to get the download will require checkout and a password created; if you want them to have to use a password you have set up, that would probably require some custom coding (there might be ways to do something similar to that without coding).
Re: creating a link to a file in EZ pages...
If you use an FTP client like Filezilla to upload the file to your server's /downloads/ folder, you could use a link like this to point to it:
<a href="downloads/your_file.whatever">View the file</a>
(You might need to use a different location like /images/, as the /downloads/ folder may be protected from direct viewing. I don't use them so am not familiar with all the protocols.) In any case, the ez-page is not going to be able to run PHP password validation code.
