Let customer select default attribute for all products
My store sells ebooks, and each product has several different attributes (ebook file types). Every time a customer adds a product to their cart, they have to select the desired attribute.
Is it possible to allow customers to set their preferred default attribute so they won't have to select it every time?
Re: Let customer select default attribute for all products
Sure, there's always a way.
The big questions relate to how it is desired to be implemented, how do your customers shop and/or return to the store?
You could for example, listen in on the customer's selection of specific attribute types. If they have selected one of them, then set a session variable to represent it. If they have previously selected one of these options, then default that value.
For a logged in user situation, it would then need to be some session value that was saved with the user's data and/or be choosable somewhere/somehow. I say that from a perspective of a customer but it may just be a "remember" what was selected type operation.
Re: Let customer select default attribute for all products
You're going to have to write some logic though - nothing is built in to do this.

Possibly just modifying the Quick Re-Order Sidebox to obtain all the information on that last order vs just the product id.
