GC Amounts and Paypal Balance
I am in the midst of adding gift certificates to my shop. I understand the process, how to set them up and so on... But this question just came to mind while I was reading other threads here.
My customer purchases a $50.00 gift certificate. I get the admin gc alert email. I get an email from Paypal saying the cash purchase was made and completed. I go to my admin area and release the gc.... >>>
Now >>>
The customer gets the email with the code, sends it to a friend. The friend visits my shop, creates an account and enters the code for gc redemption. The $50.00 is now in their new account. Lets say the friend purchase $30.00 worth of products including shipping... >>>
How will the $30.00 appear in my Paypal account? Since technically THAT $30.00 is already a part of my Paypal balance, will a $0.00 dollar amount be sent to my Paypal or will no amount be sent at all? How will this work?
Thanks
Re: GC Amounts and Paypal Balance
If customer #1 bought the gift certificate and you got paid - you don't get paid again when the GC is used, no matter who uses it.
Re: GC Amounts and Paypal Balance
Just to expand on what Kim said, PayPal would have no involvement with the order as the amount of the gift certificate covers the order total.
Re: GC Amounts and Paypal Balance
Great, thank you. I figured as much but just wanted to make sure. I guessed that ZC knew the difference between payment via GC and payment via CC or Paypal.
Thanks again
