Do I have to use SSL from the beginning / when installing Zen Cart or can I activate it at a later time?
Can modify ZC files at a later time to apply the SSL certificate. It does not have to be installed and active first. As always there are pros and cons to waiting. One thing, regardless of when it is used. If you have a test site that is up and running and then the host applies the SSL certificate, before you force customers or anyone to use https: try it out on your own by entering the https: version of the address.
Whatever page you are on when you try that should be displayed to the extent that the content has been enabled (ez-pages have an option to where they are shown depending on the page's protocol).

Thank you very much, for the link also (very complicated again).
Yes, I will do so. And I can do so just by entering the URLs, both ones http and https? And when it opens my site it works? Is it simple like that?Quote:

So one has to explicitly add the "s" (after activating SSL)? Or does it work automatically (is the "s" added automatically?), so when a user adds the URL (or find my site in Google's search field), www.my-site.com or http://www.my-site.com to the address bar of a browser he automatically is led to https://www.my-site.com?
Sorry, I do not understand. And what are ez-pages?Quote:

Many thanks again.
