Re: index page not showing
... and if you didn't put the files into that /zencart150/ folder, how did they get there?
Did you first CREATE a folder called /zencart150/ ?
... or are you using an auto-installer on your host's c-panel ? (this is NOT a recommended way of installing ZC).

Hi Schoolboy,
I first created a folder in public_html called "Zencart" and uploaded it all into there. I noticed that a folder called "zen-cart-v150-full-release-12302011" (containing all the files etc) was inside it. I tried to get it to install but it didn't work. I then read on a link from Steve, that you should avoid capital letters in folder names, so I amended the outer folder name to "zencart". When this still didn't work, I moved the internal "zen-cart-v150-full-release-12302011" folder out of the "zencart" folder and placed it directly into the public_html. I then deleted the now empty "zencart" folder I'd created in the first place. It still didn't work and I renamed the main folder zencart150 to shorten the folder name.
Still no joy. I've tried the address configuration you have suggested ie. http://www.mytestshop.tk/zencart150/zc_install and it still gives me the message.
I don't know what an auto installer is? I'm just following the instructions you mentioned, nothing more. I haven't activated any third party installation program. There is a folder called zc_install in my main folder and I assumed that it contains all that is necessary to get it started?
The .tk server is working, as I have another site on there already (not zen cart) and Safari finds it with no problems. I've set the specific folders to 777, which I was instructed to do, so I have run out of ideas. I have obviously missed something but I can't think what it could be.:(

Re: index page not showing
Well, I resolved the first problem. The server does now find the index page thus:
Attachment 10772
But when I click the install link, I get the following:
Attachment 10773
I'd be grateful for any suggestions.
Cheers
Re: index page not showing
Sorted. My web host configured it for me. It was very kind of him but a pity I missed out on working it all out for myself. Yes, the learning curve is like running into a brick wall at full speed - but no pain, no gain eh! Useful knowledge to have I figure.
Thanks to those who replied.
