404 Errors On Large Pages (mod_evasive installed)
Hi All,
Still running ZC1.5.5e on PHP7, apache 2.4. So all move into the new VPS and having issues mainly on manufacturer pages where there are a large number of product images being loaded. I find in the apache error logs "client denied by server configuration" on all related requests. Some of the images load other give 404's, but not the same every time. Obviously a server config issue, but I can find nothing in phpini or csf. Any ideas?
Thank You,John

I think you need to contact your host, for help. It looks like a memory issue. He/She can see all the error logs php/mysql/apache, and based on that can make tweaks to resolve the problem.

i will be the first person to call out a host; but the OP is on a VPS; and unless the OP has a managed plan, then the host really only provides the infrastructure and little else.
i agree with @design75 as it does look like some sort of config issue; perhaps associated with memory. it does not look to be a mysql issue to me. so if you have a managed plan, then i would contact whoever is managing the VPS.
another solution would be to look at limiting the number of items you are displaying on the page. it seems that your current server config can not handle displaying a manufacturer page that has many hundreds of items on the page.
Re: 404 Errors On Large Pages
Resolved! The Apache module called mod_evasive is turned on and is meant to prevent denial of service attacks by ratelimiting requests.
Thank you,
John
