Is there an easy way to make the top level categories display like sub-categories with clickable images on the home page? I haven't seen anywhere to set this in the admin and don't know how to do it with PHP if that is necessary. I want to do away with the text based sidebar for categories and make it more visual just like the sub-categories are. Any help is appreciated.
Zen level: beginner
PHP level: Intermediate
You can turn on the Always show on main page and set the Category to 0 in the Layout Settings ...

Default category can be set to Top Level or a Specific Top Level
