Pagination for the New Products center box

Hi, I have a client who has his mind set on having the new products centerbox be able to display all products by way of pagination similar to whats on the product listings..

I have racked my brain trying to figure this out. If anyone here has seen a solution or has a no brainer work around, I would love to hear it.

Ok here is a much easier revision, I am sure someone has done this already...

Thanks to pjb923, I customized my New Product Listing page to look the way I want it to, and now I would like to use that as my index page.

I tried copy pasting code from the "tpl_products_new_default.php" into "tpl_index_default.php" but got some misc errors...

Anyone know what the missing ingredient is or know of a link to someone having accomplished this?

I looked at the code side by side and it does not look very different...
