shipping is not calculating right

we are dealing with drop shipping companies and we are trying to set the shipping costs to be accurate.

we are comparible with one item but when multiple items are chosen the shipping costs are way off in a way that we would have to cover the shipping out of pocket.

we havent set up the checkout yet as i am having problems installing the google checkout mod.

i wouldnt think this has anything to do with the gc checkout as far as i know anyway. but then again this is the first time i am setting up a shopping cart check out anyway.

i uninstalled the gc checkout after i gave myself a black eye trying to install it...lol j/k but seriously i did uninstall it.

does someone have a shipping module or instructions for a simpleton like me to fix this mess.
