Possible new problem. Something i have not seen before.
Hello,
I am using 1.5.6c with php 7.4. Site has been working fine since my last post. Lost of customers. This morning i noticed admin moving kinda slow. First i tried on a different connection. but still the same. Customers could place orders just fine. The i looked in the cache folder in root and noticed 3 new files that got made earlier today.

I have never had them in that folder. As you can see from the time stamps they are. I have another zencart install and it doesn't have those files in the cache folder in root. I can't even copy them over and delete them. It gives a
Response: 250 CWD command successful
Error: Critical file transfer error
Why are these here now ? And is this the reason for the slow down ?
Re: Possible new problem. Something i have not seen before.
Just thought i should add , they come back. even if i delete them.

and i now feel dumb. All this time i thought i was looking in my log file folder. Thats why i had never seen them before. Doesn't explain the slow down on the site backend. But still.
Re: Possible new problem. Something i have not seen before.
Do you, by chance, have SQL caching enabled in one or both of the site's configure.php files?
Code:
/**
* This is an advanced setting to determine whether you want to cache SQL queries.
* Options are 'none' (which is the default) and 'file' and 'database'.
*/
define('SQL_CACHE_METHOD', 'none');
Re: Possible new problem. Something i have not seen before.
zencart 1.5.8
php.8.1.2
I too all of a sudden am experiencing slowness in the admin. I am even getting it on my local site.
I am not sure what is causing this issue but today is the fist time I have experience this.
My fronted works perfectly....

I have this set as define('SQL_CACHE_METHOD', 'none');
Re: Possible new problem. Something i have not seen before.
I did some test on my local site. I have disabled all plugins and my admin is still slow.
I do not get the SQL files mentioned above so i don't think cache is my issue.

have you checked the key:
SHOW_VERSION_UPDATE_IN_HEADER
i would have that set to false.
Re: Possible new problem. Something i have not seen before.
Ver. 1.5.8a
php 7.4
We too had this problem as of yesterday Nov. 11. even got an error message once across the top where the check is.
Considered the error logs cache and was about to have a dig. However,
Turning
SHOW_VERSION_UPDATE_IN_HEADER
to false has fixed it.
(easiest way for regular folk:
go to Configuration -> My Store -> Show if version update available;
then Set to False.
Thank you carlwhat! Big help.

I already had this set to false.
Strange that I never had an issue like this but all of a sudden there are multiple people with same issue
Re: Possible new problem. Something i have not seen before.
There might have been a problem with the Zen Cart version server yesterday; I'd seen a slowdown on one of the sites that I manage, but was trying to do other things.
The issue appears (?) to have resolved itself, is anyone still having the slowdown?
