How to setup shipping for international
I've got UPS setup for all shipments within the US. I'd like to setup USPS as a shipping option only for international. I looked at setting up a Zone but that didn't seem work that way. How do I set up USPS shipping to only display is the shipping address in not a US address?
Re: How to setup shipping for international
I just figured it out using Zones.
Re: How to setup shipping for international
Warning ... warning ... warning ... Will Robinson!!! :onfire::onfire::onfire:
UPS and USPS do have a conflict on a few of the ways Countries are defined ...
Guam is part of the US so USPS says the country is United States ... because USPS is part of the US Government ...
UPS is not part of the US Government so UPS says Guam is its own country ...
This is true for several places ...
So ... you can just live with it, or be aware that customers who setup Guam as its own country, and others like it, will be able to ship via UPS but not get USPS and those who set it up as a State of the United States will be able to ship USPS and not UPS ...

Can you explain further? I've burned well into an hour trying to figure out how to do EXACTLY what you say you have accomplished.
Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the warning Ajeh. We don't do a lot of international, but I'll keep a look out for those odd ones.
Scott, let's see if I can explain it.
In Admin, go to Locations / Taxes and create a new Zone called International. Then click the Details button for International at the far right. The click Insert, at the right select the countries you want listed as international and select All Zones. Click inserrt and repeat.

OMG you chose every single country outside US one by one?? :yuck:
Must be a better way? click-and-insert x 200 countries? :frusty:

(been waiting a long time to have a post requiring those emoticons... yes, I have no life)
Re: How to setup shipping for international
If you are using v1.3.7.1 on Zone Rates zones you can use 00 for The Rest of the World not otherwise defined ...
If you do not see the 00 setting, then save your settings to NotePad, Uninstall, Reinstall and Configure Zone Rates ...
Re: How to setup shipping for international
I went into phpMyAdmin and deleted all but maybe 20 countries. We won't ship to most of those countires anyway.

Hi Linda. Sorry for the delayed reply... Yes, I am using 1.3.7.1.
Can you point me in the right direction as to what menu option I should be in, to enter 00? I am looking under Locations/Taxes > Zone Definitions. I have created a Zone called International. I can then click it and Insert Countries using a drop down menu... but I'm just stumped on the whole 00 thing. Sorry!

Re: How to setup shipping for international
The 00 setting on Zones is for the Zone Rates zones and Table Rates table shipping module ...
Unfortunately to build a Zone ... you either need to be trickie with phpMyAdmin or take the time to build it with your Zen Cart Admin ...
