paypal express taking SIX pages in order for me to checkout!
Okay so I got Paypal Express Checkout working...but it takes SIX pages to checkout. It goes through all the motions on my site, through two pages on paypal's site, and then goes through ALL the motions on my site again before finally working. Any suggestions? Here are the screenshots in order...

Any suggestions yall have would be wonderful. I just read something about turning off gift certificates maybe? What does that entail? Where would I do that at?
Thanks in Advance for you help! This forum is wonderful, and I've gotten so much great advice here.
Re: paypal express takes SIX pages in order to checkout!
I just went and disabled both GIFT CERTIFICATES and PROMOTIONAL COUPONS via here.....
Admin> Modules> Order Totals> Gift Certificates> uninstall
and tried it again, and it still takes Six pages ?? Any ideas?

Im still having a lot of trouble with this...why does it take me back to my site? Most other paypal express checkouts just go straight to paypal and then bing! Any suggestions?

I am having the same problem, ever since installing the paypal patches on 1.3.7
Re: paypal express taking SIX pages in order for me to checkout!
paypal express is required to come back to the site,
paypal express only pre-authorizes the sale amount,
shipping and taxes etc are all added after the fact, ( these cant be added before because ZC dosnt know the address information )

I'm not 100% sure, but I think it used to accelerate the order and reduce the steps involved. Did paypal alter the flow somehow? As it is right now, there seems little if any benefit to express vs standard.

No its used so that a user dosnt have to create an account on the host site.
add to cart
go to cart
hit express
login to paypal
verify order
comeback to shop and complete order, shipping and confirmation

hmmm... don't see a whole lot of advantage for that vs. normal processing. it's weird going to PP to approve payment before final amount and shipping address are entered. some of the dialogs are shared between standard and express payments that at the very least will need to be very carefully worded to work in both scenarios.
for now, I am disabling express payments to provide a simplified checkout process. I could swear that in the past express payments actually provided a convenient shortcut to the normal paypal payments. seems something has changed...
