Shipping table not adding additional items shipping costs
Okay I set my shipping table up but it only works properly when checking out with 1 item. Whether I purchase 2 of the same item or 2 differnt items it does not combine the weights of the items. It just charges the first items weight charge according to the table.
I am thinking this is a very easy fix but I have been unable to find it.
Thanks in Advance, Jack
Re: Shipping table not adding additional items shipping costs
What are the settings on the Table Shipping Module?
Do you have an URL to the Product that you are testing this for?
Is the Tare weight causing issues that is set on the Configuration ... Shipping/Packaging?
Re: Shipping table not adding additional items shipping costs
Here are my table settings
1:.95,2:1.95,3:2.95,4:3.95,5:4.95,6:5.95,7:6.95...
Now if you purchase an item 3 items with a weight of 5 which is $4.95 each during checkout you only get charged $4.95 instead of $24.75. Same goes if you check out with 2 different items, the shipping charge is based on the first item and not their combined weight values.
Here are my settings:
Table Rate: Yes
Table Method: Weight
Handling Fee: 0
Tax Class: None
Tax Basis: Shipping
Shipping Zone: None
Sort Order: 0
Thanks for your help

Re: Shipping table not adding additional items shipping costs
Table rates are the total shipping cost not a per item shipping cost ...
Re: Shipping table not adding additional items shipping costs
I am not sure I understand.
If I gave an item a weight of 10 in which I put in my table as $9.95, why when you check out with 2 things each with a weight of 10 making 20 total why does it show $9.95 instead of $19.90 which would be for a weight of 20?
Thanks
Re: Shipping table not adding additional items shipping costs
The Table rates are how much to charge based on Price or Weight ...
They are not how much to charge per unit of Price or Weight ...
You might look at the Per Unit Shipping Module where the products_weight is the actual charge for the Product * the qty purchased ...
This uses the Product Weight field to do this ...
So if you say Product Weight: 4.95
Buy 2, the shipping is 2 * 4.95
Buy 3, the shipping is 3 * 4.95
Have another product with Product Weight of 3.35
Buy 1, the shipping is 3.35
Buy 2, the shipping is 2 * 3.35
Re: Shipping table not adding additional items shipping costs
Okay now I understand but here is a new problem I am having.
I enabled true item shipping and now the shipping for multiple items is tallyed during checkout.
lets use $.95 for each unit of weight. So bascially I have an item that is weight of 1 which costs $.95 to ship. So if I buy 2 items it should be a cost of $1.90. But being that my table is set up like so
1:.95,2:1.95,3:2.95
It adds 1 + 1 = 2 and has a shipping value of $1.95 instead of $1.90
How do I set up my shipping table in order to fix this?
Thanks
Re: Shipping table not adding additional items shipping costs
Agai, Table rates precisely define the shipping charge based on your settings ...
They are not saying, charge XX.XX per item when this criteria is met ...
They are saying, charge exactly XX.XX when this criteria is met ...
You are trying to set up a charge per item, but change that charge at different levels to use the price * qty ...
You will need to customize a shipping module to do that ...
Or, choose a different shipping method ...
Or, you can post in the Commercial Help Wanted for someone to write a shipping module to your specs if you cannot write one yourself ...

Running into this problem as welll... any solutions? I opened up the table module for a peek... I assume it should be quite simple to write it so that say total weight up to 5lbs, shipping is $10, total 5 - 11lbs, shipping is $15 for example is possible right?
