Zencart with Litespeed server
ZC VERSION: V1.5.7D or other
PHP: 7.4
Hello, everyone
We are just changing hosting to a VPS and it is a Litespeed server, version LS version 6.0.1 1 build 8.
We tried with latest Zencart version and also other versions, but same issues there, like a databse caching problem, for example, in cart when we adjust the qty, and click the refresh button, it doesn't update but jump back to the original qty. Also like in admin, when we click the button to enable or disable a product, the button change colour the first time, but not change colour again if we keep clicking. only after 10 to 15 seconds, when we refresh the page, it shows correctly again.
We have talked with hosting provider and finally they disabled the Litespeed and switched over to Apache, and everything works fine, both version v157 and others.
Is this a common problem pls or just the hosting provider got some issues with their litespeed server?
Thanks!
Terry
Re: Zencart with Litespeed server
Zen Cart is regularly tested on Apache and Nginx; other webservers are not recommended.
Re: Zencart with Litespeed server
Hi there, I am looking at UK hosts and migrating. But they all seem to be Litespeed based. Will this not be okay if the caching is turned off? Specifically looking at UK based ones. They all say they specialise in zencart hosting (as my search was configured that way), and they have not come across anybody who has had issues using zencart with Litespeed. Just thought I would ask in case 1.58 is more compatible?
Re: Zencart with Litespeed server
While not using Litespeed, I tried caching on my hosting...what happens is it interferes with form submissions, leading to odd things like you describe.
No doubt it could be fixed but it would require a global rethink of form handling...maybe it should be looked at....

All of our servers run Litespeed quite efficiently.
Lighthouse for a recent transfer was 12, 84, 75, 92 before and 63, 84, 75, 92 after. A 500% increase in speed.
Re: Zencart with Litespeed server
Thanks for the replies, very useful to know and that it might be okay, likely without caching.
Re: Zencart with Litespeed server
It does help that we have gigabit pipes in and out of our servers.
