This may have an obvious answer but I'm not able to find it in the FAQ or forum.
I offer free shipping on purchases > $200. I like the fact that the "FREE SHIPPING" image appears on the Product Info page on items >$200 but it also appears on the Product Listing page. It shows up everywhere. The image takes up alot of space which could be better used to display products. Can I remove the "FREE SHIPPING" image from the Product Listing page?

Do you have the products themselves marked as "Free Shipping"?
yes, I do have the products that costs more than $200 marked as "free shipping". I do like how Free Shipping is displayed next to the product and would like to continue showing this if possible. I found that if I set the product to use normal shipping rules, the customer is informed of the free shipping with a single line of text at checkout only.
I was able to remove the "Free Shipping" icon by opening includes/templates/MYTEMPLATE/templates/tpl_product_info_display.php (MYTEMPLATE is the custom template that I am using) and removed the following code:

<?php if(zen_get_product_is_always_free_shipping($products_id_current)) { ?>
<div id="freeShippingIcon"><?php echo TEXT_PRODUCT_FREE_SHIPPING_ICON; ?></div>
<?php } ?>
<!--eof free ship icon -->
But if you do this, it won't show up on ANY product listing.
