I want to test product Downloads with the COD module..but I can't...

Ive just set up a new test site which is all downloadable products, but I want to test these are working without using a Paypal or such module, which would involve me physically making a transaction.

Id like to use the COD module for testing, but obviously this won't let me as its designed for customer pick ups - not as a module for downloading products.

Is there anyway around this I can use for testing transactions?

By default, COD orders go into pending status. You can change this in admin->modules->payment->COD. Just be sure to set it back when you're done testing.

That doesn't seem to change anything. In the payment page, it still only brings up Paypal as an option, not the COD module.

All the products are set up as 'always free shipping' and 'skip shipping address'

By default ... Orders with Downloads cannot use COD ...

You would need to customize the code to change that ...

You might try testing with Check/Money Order moneyorder Payment Module ...
