Coupons & Gift Certificates

Hello all

I am new to this and very inexperienced and wondered if anybody can help!

I want to sell GV coupons but not sure how to do it? what I have done so far is to create 2 GV coupons, and created gift vouchers (matching the GV coupons) in my products list.

My questions are, do you need to link the GV coupons with the gift vouchers set in products? When somebody has purchased a gift voucher/coupon, do i need to manually send them an e-mail everytime or can this be set to send automatically when payment for the gift voucher has been received?

Also, I have only set up 2 GV coupons, £5 and £10, can I just continue to use these for every voucher order, or do I need to set new ones up for individual customers.

I'm not at all sure how these work, so any help would be appreciated.
