never seen error like that
Hi there I've been using zen cart from long time ago but this make's me wonder.
So here we go..
Trying to install the latest release full patched version at
Apache version 2.2.4 (Unix)
PHP version 5.1.2
MySQL version 5.0.27-standard-log
Operating system Linux
at install step 3 (Prerequisites)
I see
HTML Code:
PHP Max Execution Time per page = 120
[B]Disabled PHP Functions [/B]= exec, system, shell_exec, passthru, pclose, proc_open, proc_nice, proc_terminate, proc_get_status, proc_close, pfsockopen, leak, apache_child_terminate, posix_kill, posix_mkfifo, posix_setpgid, posix_setsid, posix_setuid, escapeshellargHey, disk_free_space, disk_total_space, diskfreespace, highlight_file, chown, show_source, leak, chgrp, mysql_list_dbs
HTML Code:
Running PHP as CGI can be problematic on some Linux/Unix servers.
Windows servers, however, "always" run PHP as a cgi module, in which case this warning can be ignored.
and when I click install i get
blank with
HTML Code:
Forbidden
You don't have permission to access /zc_install/index.php on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
there is a lot of warnings
so what i could do
which of this functions I need to have a normal zen cart install proccess

Re: never seen error like that
What happens if you rename the /zc_install/.htaccess to htaccess_OFF ?
Re: never seen error like that
After doing the suggested by DrByte and if still having problems, I see two other areas worth investigating.
Looking at the "Disabled PHP Functions" settings, I've never seen so many restrictions. Seems a little paranoid on the Hoster's part and almost not worth running anything.
Running PHP as CGI would suggest you check permissions for files / directories and make sure none are using 777. You also need to make sure that all .htaccess files "do not" include any PHP directives.
If your Hosting account provides with access to Error logs, you could find valuable information regarding problems.

I was thinking the same thing. Quite paranoid.
Definitely not a host I'd want to run my ecommerce business on ...
Re: never seen error like that
I dont what happen if a rename but I was pissed off in the waiting,
then I called to the hosting company and they fixxed the problem sayng security reasons.
10q all for doing this and have a nice day :)
