Need attribute price to display total price not incremental price
I’m hoping someone can help me with this? I need the price next to the attribute to show the total price and not the incremental price.
I have a product setup exactly like a product in the demo database called PRICEFACTOR. It has a base product price of $10.00 and then uses the price factor to increment the total value. It’s in the “New v1.2 ->Attributes” category. It displays the price on the attributes as follows:
Base price $10.00
Red (+$10.00)
Yellow (+$20.00)
Green (+$30.00)
I need it to display the total price
Base price $10.00
Red ($20.00)
Yellow ($30.00)
Green ($40.00)
Does anyone know an easy way to do this or do I need to get into the PHP code?
Re: Need attribute price to display total price not incremental price
The easy way is to price the product by attributes in the product setup page. In this case, you would have 4 attributes, $10, $20, $30 and $40. The lowest price should display as the 'base' (display) price, like this demo example:

Re: Need attribute price to display total price not incremental price
Great tip. Many thanks. However, how did you manage to get the starting price higher than 0 ?
Re: Need attribute price to display total price not incremental price
The starting (display) price will be the lowest of the attribute prices.
Re: Need attribute price to display total price not incremental price
Thanks but I want to use a price factor instead of a fixed price. If I set the price in the main product and use price factors instead of hard coding a price, I then can use the same three attributes throughout my storefront. If I set a hard coded price then I have to create different attributes for every product. The only price that I want to set is the main product price, the add-ons are a factor of the base price.
So I would like to show the total price, the base price plus the add-ons, next to the attribute.

That what I would have thought. However, on my shop the starting price is blank although my attribute prices are spot on and works. Any idea what can cause a blank starting price ?

Don't worry, I figured it out on my own with a little adjustment.
Once again many thanks for your original tip about how to show total prices.

Could you give examples of what worked for you on this, price factors can be confusing and it helps to see how others do it ...
