Cannot install winchester template
website: www.vintagemagazines.eu
Zencart version: 1.5.5f
PHP version: 7
no plugins as yet
It's a few years since I did much with zencart and am having a problem simply installing a template WINCHESTER BLACK. I uploaded the files that came with it but they seem incomplete as far as I remember...eg no login.php....logout.php etc......no editor folder.
Nothing actually appears after uploading...and I see index.html when I would expect to see index.php???
Has the installation changed over the past few years? The hosting account was preset with Zecart installed.
thanks
Re: Cannot install template
The majority of the Picaflor Azul templates (like Winchester Black) were developed for versions of Zen Cart prior to Zen Cart 1.5.5 and need some modifications to operate properly in the zc1.5.5+ environment. See this Zen Cart posting for additional information.

The template does not come with those files. Those are part of the standard Zen Cart install. The template goes on top of that.
Re: Cannot install template
While this message doesn't directly relate to the template install, the fact that your hosting account installed ZenCart (from what "package"?) and now you are seeing index.html instead of index.php indicates that some sort of changes outside of a default install have been applied. This could be a uri rewriter, an .htaccess rewrite, or some other modification...
If the template files are placed correctly, admin accessed and the template set as the current template, then you should at least see the operation of the template. Yes, for full successful operation the changes suggested at the link lat9 provided will resolve some issues, but the template should be functional.
