I implemented Tax Cloud (Free) just for my state (CO).
In the example provided (Colorado) there are so many taxes, City, County, Science, RTD, etc. in addition to the state tax that one 'flat' state tax does not cut it.
Try it out, click around your state, some states are 'easy', others, like Colorado are a tax nightmare:

I followed this fine. Easy enough. Now when I enter my price the net box is the same where before it showed the full price with tax
Did I mess it up?

Tax cloud is automatic. It can be used in all states where you have a nexus (and must collect sales tax), Some states it can automatically file / pay your taxes for you. (Un)fortunately, CO is not a SSUTA state, so the automation is missing for me, but it does give me a nice email reminder and report of all owed sales tax.

Hi, TaxCloud does work with 1.5. You can easily select the states you wish to collect taxes in.
