SSL conflicts when switching...

Hello,
I have been on live chat with my web host all week trying to sort upgrading my website to SSL.
When they got it to work, there were problems logging into my admin, adding things to cart and my font was not working.
They ran the WHYNOPADLOCK test for me and it gave me this info...
Hard Failure
A file with an insecure url of "http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Oswald:300" was loaded on line: 55 of https://craftjam.co.uk/.
This URL will need to be updated to use a secure URL for your padlock to return.
Soft Failure
A file with an insecure url of "http://www.top50crafters.co.uk/button.php?u=craftjam" was loaded on line: 228 of https://craftjam.co.uk/.
This URL will need to be updated to use a secure URL for your padlock to return.
Form Failure
A form with the action of "http://craftjam...........advanced_search_result" exists in the source code of the tested page.
This form needs to be updated to use "https://craftjam...........advanced_search_result" or another secure URL for your padlock to return.
Form Failure
A form with the action of "http://craftjam.............advanced_search_result" exists in the source code of the tested page.
This form needs to be updated to use "https://craftjam.....................advanced_search_result" or another secure URL for your padlock to return.
Form Failure
A form with the action of "http://craftjam.co.uk.............index" exists in the source code of the tested page.
This form needs to be updated to use "https://craftjam............index" or another secure URL for your padlock to return.
Are you able to advise as how I go about this? It there particular code on particular pages that needs to be changed or is it more complicated than that?
Main domain craftjam. co. uk
Sub domain giftsjam. co . uk
Thank you
Amy
Re: SSL conflicts when switching...
You're using an old version of Zen Cart that wasn't around when Chrome and others decided that all content should be https versus http. You have nearly one hundred links on your main page alone that are http. Your beads page has over one hundred.
You've got some other problems with fonts, missing images, and missing files. It might just be time to upgrade. It's much easier than six years ago if you follow the directions at https://www.zen-cart.com/entry.php?3...d-of-upgrading. It will take care of most of the links for you in the cart.
Re: SSL conflicts when switching...
Urgh, to be honest I was trying to avoid that!
I have tried to upgrade my zencart previously, however one of the addons I use does not work with the new version. I think it is the hidden wholesale addon.
Can you help advise how I can upgrade if my addon does not work with it? I had to revert it back after I did it.
Thank you
Amy
Re: SSL conflicts when switching...
if you do not want to upgrade try to make your whole site https. see what happens....
change your includes/configure.php and YOUR_ADMIN/includes/configure.php to:
Code:
define('HTTP_SERVER', 'https://www.YOUR_SHOP.com');
define('HTTPS_SERVER', 'https://www.YOUR_SHOP.com');
define('ENABLE_SSL', 'true');
good luck.
Re: SSL conflicts when switching...
You are correct. I missed the base href at http which is a dead giveaway. Must have been distracted.:P That will be a major start with the remaining hard-coded http links needing to be changed.
Meanwhile, there are many current mods that can adequately meet most needs in group, wholesale, and retail pricing. And a lot of available mods that weren't there for use with 1.5.0.
Possible loss - Some historical sales data if different data tables are used in the update.
Possible gain - Many, not the least of which being a responsive template. Also, the social media errors would more than likely be removed with the newer code.
With the start from new while keeping the old method of upgrade, it's hard not to recommend upgrading.
Re: SSL conflicts when switching...
Sorry for the delay getting back, been very busy.
I am completely up for upgrading but I cannot find a way to replace hidden wholesale. I have people who are on wholesale accounts and I do not want normal customers to be able to see these prices, they need to be on that pricing level to do so.
I looked at that addon and it only goes up to v1.3.9.
Do you know an alternative to hide my wholesale pricing?
Thank you
A

Re: SSL conflicts when switching...
Hi,
Thank you for that.
This is the one I have installed however it never actually hid the wholesale from the customers so I was advised on here to add the hidden wholesale.
I am wondering if the reason that hidden wholesale doesn't have an update is because the dual pricing plugin now includes that option some how?
I will down load it and see if it works
Thank you
Amy
Re: SSL conflicts when switching...
The display of the wholesale value is generally controlled by what is put into the associated template file(s).
While the name of the plugin doesn't contain "hidden", Dual pricing - Wholesale adds the ability to have wholesale prices meaning those not in the associated wholesale group don't see the wholesale price. The default install for those in a wholesale group does show the "standard" price, but that can be worked out of the template file(s) if desired. Somewhat pointless though if prices are displayed for people that are not logged in because they could toggle between logged in and not logged in to see the price difference(s).
Re: SSL conflicts when switching...
Hello,
I created a new directory and installed the new version and it did in fact allow the green padlock to show.
I am now stuck! When I added the site and upgraded it in the new directory, none of my products are showing?
I used the database and the back up. My actual site is still working but it does not seem to have copied everything accross.
I am concerned whether i am backing up my website correctly?
Probably a stupid question, but where are my products stored, in the public_html backup or the database?
Thank you
Am
