Spam Disclaimer
Hi
In the email_extras.php file there is an Email Disclaimer defined which is set to "This email is sent in accordance with the US CAN-SPAM Law in effect 01/01/2004. Removal requests can be sent to this address and will be honored and respected."
Does anyone know if there is a UK law that should be quoted for UK based sites? I've done some searching on Google but haven't been able to find anything.
Thanks for any help.

Re: Spam Disclaimer
UK and indeed European law is much tougher than that in the US. Indeed many in Europe felt that the US law was almost an invitation to SPAM. In Europe you are allowed to send email only to people who have given their permission or with whom you have a prior business relationship (until they tell you to stop). Here's a link with a bit more info.

Actually, here's a better link. Its point 6 answers your question directly.

Re: Spam Disclaimer
Does anyone have an example of how this statement could be altered for a UK store?
Thanks.

Re: Spam Disclaimer
I've changed mine to:
"This e-mail is sent in accordance with The Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) Regulations 2003. Removal requests can be sent to this address and will be honored and respected."
Thanks to the folks at Mooxmail Zen-Cart Email Templates: mooxmail.com/zen
I changed both the /admin/includes/languages/english/email_extras.php and the /includes/languages/email_extras.php
