Well, after all that. I would have thought doing that would place div.MagicToolboxContainer above the ul.ul, which is z-index:1. So what is going on there? Is a 0 z-index value zeroing z-index?

z-index treats elements as pieces of paper on a desktop
"0" is first down, "1" is on top of that, "2" is on top of that

Yes, but I assumed for some reason that '0' would not function. I tried '-1' with no effect. I should have just tried '0' -- the results would have been conclusive.
