how to tell which version i have also how to go about upgrade?

I am seeing that an upgrade of zen is required.......I have many stores so i am depressed about it......but i am not sure how to tell which version i am running...can someone help? I also have numerous template mods....how do i go about it??

It is simple
Go to Admin
Tool->Server Info

Also, clicking on the 'Check for Updates' will tell you about the latest version of zen cart
Always, keep the backup when you are upgrading
