Page not found
I get the whole CUSTOM template thing and would like to
get along to the real problems but I'm stuck on trying to get my
"CUSTOM" ("testemp") folder to open in a browser.
I had to play with the "Classic" folder just to test my understanding and
my changes came up fine.
I'd just like to pare my info search down a bit.
Please aim me in the right direction.
Would it be a problem in admin/config.php?
Or maybe in the /includes/ files?
Or an SSL config on my server?
CSS?
Q2..Does each yada/yada/classic/CUSTOM file need the correlating .php file
from it's hierarchy?
This would make a good mystery game.
Bet the boss 2 weeks pay you can figure it out in a week.
The chart of the Over Ride file system is very helpful (article 143)
I would be way further along if it also referenced / alluded to what edited
.php files would likely also be created there. No?
Maybe after I figure this out I'll contribute that.
Thanks for any replies...be merciful..I'm old and feeble minded. :lookaroun

Re: Page not found
This list is slightly outdated and the files you'll need to change may differ, but it should give you a basic idea.
- includes/languages/YOUR_TEMPLATE/english.php
- includes/languages/english/YOUR_TEMPLATE/index.php
- includes/languages/english/YOUR_TEMPLATE/meta_tags.php
- includes/languages/english/YOUR_TEMPLATE/header.php (to change the logo)
- includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/template_info.php
- includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/common/tpl_header.php
- includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/common/tpl_footer.php
- includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/images/logo.gif
- includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/css/stylesheet.css
Anywhere you see a /classic/ folder, you can create a folder for your custom template. You can copy the necessary files from either the /classic/ folder, the /template_default/ folder or the parent folder.
Edit includes/templates/YOUR_TEMPLATE/template_info.php to give your template identifying information so you'll recognize it in the admin under tools->template selection.

Re: Page not found
Thanks ever so much for getting back so quickly.
I carefully went over my files uploaded to the server.
I had some extra ones in there...and one misplaced but it didn't help.
Double checked then....
I select "template selection" from admin tools.
My "testemp" (my "CUSTOM" file) is now missing from the admin panel!!??
Ha!
If I preview "Custom" or "template Default" I also get "page not found".
Only "classic" is operational.
Odd that...
What could be up-stream that doesn't see my "testemp" file? (now)
If I could just get my named file or "CUSTOM" to come up I'm
very confident I can get in there and change the Style Sheets and
.phps in their respective compartments to do my bidding..
I have the tenacity of a badger..

Re: Page not found
I'm going to delete my "includes" file and reload it.
