Bookshop properties - ISBN, Author, Condition, Year etc
Hi all.
After having spent a day configuring the design of my online shop, I've gotten to the point of configuring and adding products.
How can I add fields such as ISBN, Author, Condition, Year to my products?
I'd ultimately like a "Product Type" for Books with these properties.
It seems quite easy to do in OpenCart, however I cannot figure out how to add a product type in Zen Cart? Now that I've customised my layout etc, it's too late to move
Cheers.

Having had a look further, it appears that you cannot add multiple images to a product in the ZC admin panel, but must use FTP?
Although easy to customise the layout on the surface, it looks like ZC is lacking some basic functionality?

You could do it with the Add/Edit of a Product if you think through it ...
Let's say I have
1 main image
1 medium main image
1 large main image
3 additional images
3 additional large images
You can add all of these when you are Adding/Editing the Product provided you have:
1 the files named correctly
2 load them to the right directories with the dropdown
3 load the main Product image last

Hi Linda,
thanks for the response.
With potentially 40,000 books to add, it seems like a very convoluted process.
I will have to do some more digging, cheers.
I am surprised though that there is no easy way to add additional fields to the 'product' without having to use attributes.
Perhaps I am understanding the system poorly.
Will keep reading, thanks.

FTP is a lot faster ...
Get the main Products Image however you need to ... and load the other files via FTP however you want as long as you follow the image rules ...
You can add them as needed ...
NOTE: with so many images and products ... I would break the /images into sensible subdirectories and match that in the /images/medium and /images/large ...
