Please Help! PayPal error 15008
A very good customer is trying to make a purchase from me.
and she can't get the payment to go through.
She is the only person that this is happening to, but it is also a large order, so maybe posible shipping calculations?
This is the erroe that comes up.
Zen Cart message: 15008 [] Invalid Data - This transaction has been completed, but the total of items in the cart did not match the total of all items.
I've never had this happen before, and the site has been up and running for several years. The only thing new on the site right now, is a sale.
From what I've read about the error on another forum is that It is usually caused by a calculation error in the script
Can someone help me figure this out. or at least point me in the right direction.

In those years, there have been many changes to both Zen Cart and PayPal.
Without knowing which version of both that you are using, the short story is -- upgrade both.
Re: Please Help! PayPal error 15008
I have Zen v1.3.9h
And just started PayPal Pro. just over a year ago.
Re: Please Help! PayPal error 15008
Pro is buggy. Express is the better choice.
Re: Please Help! PayPal error 15008
If you have PayPal Pro, you have to have PayPal Express too.
Do you have any answers to help me? Or are you just chatting it up.
I've got money that someone is trying to give me!!!!
Re: Please Help! PayPal error 15008
Sorry, misread Pro. don't know why I saw Standard. Must be right at the line for my trifocals.
But yes, I am trying to chat you up as you started out with no information and only seem to add some when forced.
Perhaps you might try to make sure that the steps at http://www.zen-cart.com/getpaypal were followed.
Maybe you could let someone know one or two of the suggested items in the posting tips.
Possibly you could mention if any of your settings are different than the norm. You didn't accidentally switch to sandbox?
Did you remove and reinstall PayPal when you upgraded to 1.3.9h?
If the customer is a PayPal member, why not have them send money to your account e-mail?
If the customer was using a credit card, have you tried making a purchase with a credit card? You know more than I so you probably know that you can't make a purchase with your own PayPal account, but you can try it with a CC.
Lastly, I understand your frustration, but this is a site of unpaid volunteers. Hopefully I can extract enough info for someone to be of more help.

Re: Please Help! PayPal error 15008
The site has been up and running for years.
Yesterday I had about 30 orders go through the site, about half and half, paypal to credit card through PayPal pro.
No problems with anyone elses orders or payments.
This is the key line in the "feed back"
"ALERT: PayPal Direct Payment Error (15008 [])
Dear store owner,
An error occurred when attempting to initiate the payment-validation transaction. As a courtesy, only the error "number" was shown to your customer. The details of the error are shown below.
15008
Invalid Data
This transaction has been completed, but the total of items in the cart did not match the total of all items.15005
Processor Decline
This transaction cannot be processed."
No I didn't switch to sandbox
I totally upgraded everything when i upgraded to 1.3.9h
All of the other payments are coming in fine.
Re: Please Help! PayPal error 15008
And... Now you tell us about the 15005:blink:
Knew there had to be something else as a 15008 should complete.
That SHOULD mean that the customer's card was declined by the bank that issued the card. Perhaps the customer has a limit on the card? Can the customer find out why their bank declined the transaction? Maybe another card?
Re: Please Help! PayPal error 15008
Did you ever find a solution? I frequently get this message (at least once a monht). I haven't made any changes to my site, I've just always gotten this message.

In addition, much like the previous poster didn't supply all relevant information which had to be drawn out, perhaps you can share the big picture of any additional details not yet shared.
