Step 2 of checkout showing "Your Total" as $0
Hello everyone,
I apologize if I am not posting this in the correct spot as I have been looking for answers and frustrated. I am fairly new and I have been working on getting my site up and running on my own for several months now and I have no past programming or computer knowledge so basic layman's answers are appreciated . I have come across a puzzling problem, i am running a test purchase on my actual site and going through the checkout process. When I get to "Step 2 of 3- Payment information" page all the information in the box "Your Total" shows $0 and where the word "shipping" should be is blank. I know part of the problem is in the HTML file but where would I edit that and where do I go to tell the shopping cart to add the numbers together and to display the totals?
Also, if I click on to continue to step 3 it takes me to Step three but all the totals are still $0 then when I click to confirm order it takes me back to the beginning of the shopping cart instead of the final page.
Please help and thanks for your help.

You shouldn't have to 'tell the shopping cart' anything, and Zencart doesn't have many HTML files that you could edit anyway. There's something wrong with your store. We might be able to spot something with a link to the site.

I was just looking over my site and I noticed also that my prices themselves are showing incorrectly but they are right in my zencart admin. Just another piece to add to my problems. Do I need to start over and start with the new version? Any help is appreciated.

Nevermind about the prices not showing correctly...I figured that part out put the other problem in the first post is still an issue.

Is this a Clean install or an Upgrade?
What version Zen Cart are you running?

I installed version 1.3.9h right from my hosting company, cPanel that I saw under Fantastico delux. Sorry, I didn't think I needed to restate the version number since the forum asks you to select at the start of the post.

I just wanted to confirm things ...
If you switch to the Classic Template ... does that change things?
If you look in the directory:
/cache
using FTP, do you see any debug logs in there?

I apologize after I hit enter and reread what I said I felt bad. Anyway, I am afraid to revert back to the Classic template to even try it. In fact, all I did was made a copy of the classic template and made my changes to what I wanted through the copy.
As for any debug files, there are quite a few. The last ones were from three days ago when I was trying to install a plugin, but I have since then been able to get that installed. Before that there are a lot too. Do I need to go through those and what am I looking for?

For now, you can delete the .log files ...
Then keep an eye on it for new ones that might be created ...
As to the Classic Template, if you go to the Tools ... Template Selection ... and click EDIT ... you will see the available Templates, as in Classic Template and your custom template ...
Selecting Classic Template will just change which template is being used to Classic ...
Later, you can do the same thing and select Your Template to reset it back ...
This is a handy way to see if your templates and overrides might be causing issues ...
