So NEWBIE question - will this change the appearance of my site on a PC computer? - I have worked hard to get it this way and dont want it to change.

Yes, the template package is a complete package and uses googles advanced php mobile detect script to server up optimized layouts for desktops, laptops, portrait and landscape tablets, and portrait and landscape phones.

3. If you do a search on the FAQs on this site you will find a tutorial about the layout boxes controller

So I understand the following :
1 & 2 can only be turn off in CSS. There's no way to ON/OFF them in admin.
For 3, I read all the wiki about sidebox but I still have a question... In your template, if I want to see it appears, I need to do some CSS work. I see that some sidebox is controlled in admin and show directly on my site and some other dont show. I imagine that's because they dont have any CSS related to them ? I'm I correct in my thinking ?

Is there a way to keep my appearance and yet make it mobile friendly?
Re: Winchester Responsive
they say my viewscreen is incorrect- fonts too small and links too close together.

No, there are no on/off in the admin to hide the menu or top bar.
Yes, all sideboxes and header boxes can be turned on or off via your zen cart admin, no css is needed.
Thanks,
Anne

You can apply the DIY responsive template default to your current template (on a test site of course) and then create a custom template that way. But it is a pretty complicated operation since you will have to add a mobile menu and then optimize your site pages for tablets and phones.

Anne

Hum....that's means that I need to do more reading :shocking:
In your template, you support LEFT and CENTER sidebox. That's right ?
So, if I turn ON a left sidebox in the "layout boxes controller", they MUST appear in the LEFT panel.
If I do it and don't see anything, that's because somthing else need to be activate somewhere ...
More and more reading and try and error to come !

You can turn sideboxes on in the right or left hand columns. If you want the right hand column to show you need to turn it on in your admin--configuration--layout settings.

Re: Winchester Responsive
I want to make a french store with your template.
To date I found all what I need except for the button labelling (add to cart, checkout, continue shopping...)
I see the file "button_names.php" but my change do nothing...
