integration can be tough work. You may have to hire someone to do it for true integration.

You could just make a custom image, and upload it with the product. Maybe something saying "no photo" or a blank GIF.

Try downloading a fresh zen-cart file set (your version), and replace that file.

Why not just edit the tpl_header.php file? you could add a blank bar there.

zen-cart/includes/templates/template_default (or your template folder)/common/ tpl_header.php

Once you upgrade you will get the feature to display more then one product.

Have you tried replacing the gray image code with the flash code you have?

The gray image shows up on every page for me, so all you would need to do is replace it right?

You can't make ez-page show up a "image links".

You would need to use photoshop or fireworks, and slice up images into a menu to do something like that.
