What it does, normally, is add the user who just registered for the cat to the forum database as well. When it works, it's great. I used to funnel all forum registratons through the cart registration...
I tried that. It didn't solve the problem.
No, my PHPBB and Zen cart are not in the same database. They never were. They still always worked.
I gave up on the integration because I couldn't get it to work... The sessions kept kicking each...
But it's not working on forums where it did work before version 1.2.6d
Still doesn't add the user to PHPBB. Oh well.
OK,
I finally have a solution to this. It's so easy, I should kick myself. You need to edit the PHPBB config.php file to this and nothing else:
<?php
$dbms = 'mysql';
$dbhost =...
OK, I figured that part out..... DUH!!
I keep getting "illegal access" on a blank white page.
If I remove this:
if (!defined('IS_ADMIN_FLAG')) {
die('Illegal Access');
}
I get:
Fatal error: Class phpbb: Cannot inherit from...
Correction, the problems started with 1.2.6d, not 1.2.7
Also, how do you run the sniffer in 1.3.0? There's no debug=true or debug=false in there as far as I can see.....
Like I said, the path is correct in configure.php (I also tried every possible variation, with the absolute path, without it, with the domain name, without it, with the slashes, without them, just to...
OK,
I just did a fresh install of Zen Cart 1.3.0 and PHPBB 2.0.19 (I can't get any of the 2.0.20 downloads to work, they all say the ZIP file is corrupted, but that's not related to this issue, yet)...
That's the way it's supposed to be.
Unfortunately, it hasn't been working that way for alot of us. I will try again now that I see you have it working.
On the login page, about halfway through the registration process, there should be a text box for "Forum Nickname". No matter what I do or what I change, I cannot get the nickname into the PHPBB...
Is anyone from the coding team reading this thread?
Is there something we're all doing wrong?
It seems once you update to the latest version, you lose interaction with PHPBB. I have one old...
Like I said, I don't think you are going to get them linked. I'm not sure what you mean about exposing a security risk though. It's just not going to work right now. If you install your forum in the...
I misunderstood your question, sorry.
I just tried linking to http://sportsmansoutfitters.com/forums/ and I get a folder with no files. If you install your forum there, linking to it would open the...
Actually, according to a few people (no documentation, but lots of people having the same problem) the PHPBB integration does not seem to be working with the latest update of Zen Cart and PHPBB. I'm...
Anyone know where to find this variable?
<?php if (($definedpage)) { ?>
##<tr>
## ##<td class="plainBox"><?php require($definedpage); ?></td>
##</tr>
Found on this page:...
Sorry, I don't have an answer for that one. You might be confusing things with the new windows opening.... What browser are you using? I've been reading up on some cookie issues with Firefox. It...
What version of PHPBB are you guys using? I just found out today that several of my cart users never got registered for the forum. This has only started since I updated to PHPBB 2.0.19 The only...
I'll try to explain in more detail (by the way, since updating my forum to 2.0.19, the cart no longer registers users for the forum. I was alerted to this only today when a few people registered for...
I tiried that i-frame mod. It didn't work for me. The built-in integration works fine for what it is supposed to do, if everything is set up properly (as we've seen here, it isn't always easy...
No ideas on this?
I can't be the only one trying to integrate PHPBB and Zen Cart onto another page, can I?
Have you made template changes?
Try reverting back to the default template or choose one that you have not modified. See if the forum links work then. If they do, the problem is in your template....
Speaking of sessions......
I have a site with both PHPBB and Zen Cart. I want to add elements of both the cart AND the forum onto the home page of the site.
I can get either to work, but not...
Well, the cart and the forum do not share a login. The cart uses your e-mail address as the username and the forum uses a userId as the username. Perhaps in a later version, they could change that?...
Make sure you login to your admin panel, go to Configuration, then My Store and make sure near the bottom it says:
Not yet. The cart uses the e-mail address as the username, PHPBB has an actual "username". I'm sure there's a way to make it work, but I haven't had the time to figure it out yet.
Sorry, I should give you the exact line of code. Change "path_to_forum" to "../forums"
Like this:
$information[] = '<a href="../forums/index.php">Forum</a>';
That's weird.
I'd make the link a static link, for now until a solution can be worked out.
Comment out all of the PHPBB lines in cart/includes/modules/YOUR_TEMPLATE/sideboxes/information.php...
Check your configure.php file. Make sure you have all of the slashes in there correctly.
check line #51
define('DIR_FS_CATALOG', '/home/xxxxx/public_html/cart/');
Make sure that final slash is...
I'd like to see a solution to that one as well. I don't have the time to investigate it myself though.
EDIT......
I'm sure there is a way, since the nickname is part of the registration...
Just don't add it as part of the install.
I fixed it. Somehow, my custom template got corrupted. I copied and pasted a few lines of code from the default template over to my custom template and all is well now. Unfortunately, I did this a...
OK, my latest issue. I recently upgraded to the latest version of the cart. All of a sudden, my new users are no longer being asked for a forum nickname. I checked with the sniffer file and there are...
Ripper,
can you more specific on how did you make it work? I have been strugglinh with Iframe MOD for hours with no luck until I saw your post.
THanks

John, I'm really...
It's usually found in the "Information" sidebox.
If you created your own template, you'll have to enable the sideboxes through the admin control panel.
PHPBB needs it's own database, but if you really know what you're doing, you can combine databases. The only problem there is if your database crashes because of a bad query, it will take the cart...
I don't think you can use the subdomain links for the included forum link. I believe you need to use the actual path to the forum folder on your server, for example home/public_html/forum/
Look...
OK.
Thanks.
I have posted an alert on the forum for the site where this request was made to me. For now, I will have to edit the cart and/or forum usernames in the respective database of the...
OK, I have a PHPBB question. Is there a way to add current PHPBB usernames to new cart customers? I know the PHPBB login doesn't require address information, etc... but I'd like to know if there's an...
While I'm asking....
I have a guestbook page I would like to add to the navigation. I edited the sidebox and the page opens fine, but I'd like it to open in the cart main page area. I know, I should...
That is so much easier than the 3rd party download in my case. The cart is going to be the home page for the entire site, so I don't have to worry about linking back through the forum to a specific...
Thanks, it's not there now, but it will be in a second......
I have a real simple question. I hope there's a simple answer. I would like the link for the forum in my side box to open the forum in the same window rather than open a new window. I downloaded the...
