This is really strange because I can type in 'title' => lkafjsdofiuj, and it won't change anything, parentheses are still there...

Your files were most-likely corrupted during upload.

I would have just released it as an update to his CSS one but I don't know if you're allowed to do that?

When developing I usually make a separate stylesheet(s) for IE.

So if you want to target IE6 only you would use this:

Try clearing your cache.
