I think I ended up stripping the code for that button as well but first try going to Admin> Configuration> Stock, as Kim mentioned and setting "Show Shopping Cart - Update Cart Button Location" to 2....

The mods are named "priorityitem" and "standarditem". I want "standard" to appear first. Could this be a 1.3.0.1 bug? I wonder if changing the mod names to suit the display order would do the trick...

That or you could re-install and put in the "zen_" prefix on the db settings page. Of course you should be able to change this in the config file(s) as well.
